If you've ever been walking through Sawgrass Mills Mall, bags in both hands, and thought, "You know what would really complete this retail journey? Sushi... delivered by conveyor belt," then Sushigami is about to be your place. Let's set expectations properly. The sushi here is not life changing. This is not the meal you'll be telling your grandchildren about. On sushi alone, it's a solid three stars. Totally fine, very average, and honestly exactly what you want when you're eating raw fish inside a mall the size of a small country. But then the conveyor belt starts rolling, and suddenly none of that matters. Plate after plate of sushi cruises past you like it's auditioning for your attention. You lock eyes with one. You make a decision. You pull it off the belt, crack open the lid, take a bite, and feel like you just won something. No waiting, no awkward server check-ins, just instant sushi gratification. The pricing system somehow turns dinner into a game. You pay by the color on the rim of the plate. Blue plate is five bucks. Orange plate is eight. Before you know it, you're stacking plates, doing mental math mid-bite, and quietly negotiating with yourself about whether one more plate is "basically free." And if nothing rolling by is calling your name, the menu has your back. The salmon tacos are the standout. They're absolutely loaded with salmon, aggressively messy, and require a full commitment to eating like a feral raccoon. Delicious, sloppy, and worth it. So yes, Sushigami lands at three stars overall. The sushi is average, but the experience is fun, fast, and strangely entertaining. Where else can you sit in the middle of a mall, watch sushi parade past you, and eat until your shopping fatigue completely disappears? Not fine dining. Not a hidden gem. They drop off things, let you order things that don't come by, and pick up covers for the items you've selected. The sushi itself is just okay in my opinion. It's not bad by any stretch and they do have some interesting items. But it's not great either. And then of course there's the price. Each dish is color coded, and you pay for each dish you pick up. The price starts from $5, and goes up from there. It's easy to wind up spending a lot, maybe more than you had expected or planned to. You really have to keep track, in order to keep it somewhat affordable. That said, would I go back? Probably. Nice surprise running into this spot at the mall, I hadn't seen this type of eating experience since I last visited Japan. I love the idea of speedy service with good food, the quality of the food was incredible with plenty of options available even for someone with a shellfish allergy. Conveyor belt sushi is always so fun. This business model works for sawgrass and the location in a fork of the road between wings of stores is perfect to catch your eye on the sushi moving. The price point is not bad, but not incredible but you're paying for the visual luxury and grabbing a bite or full meal if you want to. It's cute, the waiter was friendly. I often come here before heading over to a Panthers game. This does the trick. The spicy tuna sandwich (sushi shaped like a sandwich) is truly delish, along with the salmon tacos. My issue with this place is that you'll see the same two dishes coming on the conveyor belt. It's often cream cheese based dishes and as someone who doesn't eat dairy, I find myself having to order which obviously takes longer than just grabbing the dishes in front of you. Mind you, it's not the best sushi you'll ever have, but it's definitely average quality or slightly better. The service is always fairly quick and friendly. We've also never had trouble finding a seat at the counter. The booths tend to fill up, but there's a ton of seats around their large counter area. The mall is typically bustling and a little noisy and this restaurant is in the thick of it all. That being said, I've never felt like it was too loud or that we couldn't have a conversation easily. I've been here before and know I'll be back. This small kiosk is located in the Sawgrass mall near the Forever 21 store. It's the best space for those who are shopping and need a quick stop to eat. The variety is great but some dishes are a little overpriced, as some sushi are portions of 4 units, I think $7.00 is too expensive. This time we ordered the udon soup, the portion is good but the broth is not the best I've ever had, perhaps because it was almost the time the mall was closing it came warm and not hot as it is more enjoyable to eat. I also ordered a Poke Bowl this time, and the portion was very good, I only managed to eat half of it. There is a lot of salmon and tuna but you need to season it to have a good flavor. Down side- you can't get a hot sake carafe, and the conveyor belt sushi is just like 4 rolls that keep revolving. Sushigami is a sushi bar right in the middle of Sawgrass Mall. After shopping fir several hours, 16 year old and I were famished. sushigami still has their conveyor belt with covered items. You can also order from off the menu. At the beginning, it seemed like there were very few items available on the conveyer belt but more came around eventually so we did not order from the menu. The sushi was decent. My favorite was definitely the tuna and salmon tacos. The prices are definitely high. A quick lunch for two ended up being almost $70. Not too bad, even for the price. The most expensive plate on the conveyor belt is $6 which isn't bad, but it does add up quickly. There are only about 2-4 pieces of sushi per plate so to feel full it will be $60-$80 to feed a party of two. When compared to a normal sushi restaurant the price is pretty average. The fish is good, not great sushi quality, but decent. The rolls seem to have a lot of fillers instead of fish and the rice was pretty dry on most rolls. It's a fun place to eat, but it is in the middle of the mall so everyone walking by may ruin the ambiance for some. We didn't see a variety of options on the belt unfortunately until the end. Definitely need to wait a bit before choosing anything to see everything available. Staff was friendly and helpful throughout the experience. Fun to go to every once in a while. read more

We come here pretty frequently since we live so close, and we have NEVER had a bad experience here. The wait staff is always so helpful and attentive, and the owner is on another level, on multiple occasions he has given our kiddos free donuts, and today he went out of his way to make our table this adorable dessert plate. I always want to like this place. It's convenient, unique, and the food isn't terrible. The big issue for me here is the cleanliness. The sushi really sits out for long periods of time not just on the conveyor belt, but also waiting in the prep area to go on the belt. Every time I go here there are flies around and the tables are sticky from spilled soy sauce since they serve it in flimsy plastic cups. They use a rag that stinks to wipe the table. Idk, the whole time I'm there I just feel dirty. It really ruins the experience for me every time. But hey, I keep coming back when I'm dying for food during long shopping trips, so there's that. Stopping by this spot is always a must for me when I go to Sawgrass. Love their conveyor belt concept where each plate is assigned a price and you can just pick it off the conveyor belt and dig in. Prior to Covid they had more options circulating but now they have maybe 4 or 5 different options and more than likely their best sellers, and everything else you just order with your waitress. The sushi is always pretty fresh. They have a lot of sushi options and rice bowls plus soups and such. Would definitely recommend this spot. Also full disclosure, they are not limiting seating due to COVID so if sitting too close to strangers makes you uneasy, don't come here unless you see it's not busy. read more

How have I missed this place until now...??? Wow. Located in the middle of Sawgrass Mills outlet mall, it's an old school 'sushi river' format, updated with a seemingly never-ending conveyor belt. How does it work...??? It's easy: You pull up a chair at the counter, watch the selections parade in front of you, grab your favorites from the conveyor belt and bing, bang, boom, you've got a quick and tasty sushi meal. A server will check-in with you to take your drink order and to supply you with wasabi, ginger, etc. On the conveyor belt, sushi is served as 4-piece orders - i.e., a half roll - which is great if you're looking for a quick bite while shopping or if you'd like to sample a few different things. Sushi and other items, like fresh fruit and a few desserts, are priced according to the color of the plate on which they are prepared. At the end of your meal, your server will tally up your plates and deliver a receipt. Worth nothing is that there's a smallish conventional seating area available also if you'd prefer to order non-conveyor belt items from the menu. So I'm having one of those nights when I'm not sure what I want to eat. I was in the Sawgrass and stopped at three other places before I landed at Sushigami. Its at the entrance to Avenue 3 in the Sawgrass right across from Forever 21. The concept is simple, the sushi comes around to you on a conveyor belt and you pull off what you want. If its not on the belt you can order off the menu. They have buttons at each station to summon a server or to get your bill. Its not gourmet sushi, but it is decent $3 - $6 for 4-6 pieces. The combinations are pretty simple with a variety of cooked and raw rolls. Still, its great if you want something quick and simple that's not a burger and fries. The combinations with sweet potato are my favorite. But my all time favorite is the avocado roll, six pieces of avocado goodness wrapped in rice and sea weed. Yummmm.... Compared to the food court sushi, this place is amazing. The food court sushi looks blue/purple (yikes) The first time I saw the sushi going along a train track concept in VA was a few years ago in Tyson's mall. It's a good concept only if it's a super busy restaurant. Sawgrass is a very busy mall with people fighting over parking spots so of-course this place is able to continuously make fresh sushi every few minutes and you don't get luke warm sushi which is going around the train tracks the whole day. I have tried many of their sushi rolls. I like them, I only wish the tuna's quality was better. Maybe it was the wrong season or something but it didn't taste as good as the other selections. Look at the menu so you know which rolls are coming down the track. The plates are color coordinated which correlates to the price from 3.50 to 7 dollars a plate. Most of the good rolls are in the 5-7 dollar range. It's a decent price for sawgrass mills food option range. However, 4 pieces in each plate will make you want to get multiple plates and you will feel more hungry then looking at a 8-10 piece roll plate in regular sushi restaurants. By the time my friend and I left, our plates were stacked high and we still went for dessert after. Yikes, we really could eat the traveling train sushi. read more

I love that all the sushi is freahly made and the conveyor belt is such a neat idea. The service is good and there is not a large variety of sushi that goes around. Since we are still in a pandemic the sushi go around aspect was not on but rather the servers would bring the dishes that we order to our table. While taking my aunt and uncle visiting from the Philippines out to Sawgrass mall to shop, we were looking for a place to have our "merienda" (Filipino for "snack-time"). In front of Forever 21 was this big area with sushi rolling through a conveyor belt. Ah, so this is what Sushigami is. Ranging from $3-6 are color-coded plates of sushi and appetizers. Since this was my very first converyor-belt dining experience, I was initially in awe of all the sushi going around. Although I've had better sushi, I was glad my family seemed to enjoy the experience as well. What makes this place unique from other sushi places I've been to (aside from the obvious sushi-in-motion concept) is that they offer taiyaki, which is a Japanese dessert that is in the shape of a fish. It's usually a cake filled with red bean, but this taiyaki I had had strawberry sauce and ice cream. I've always wanted to try taikyaki so it was a pleasant treat to end my dining experience at Sushigami. Overall, if you want a quick bite, I say it's a good spot (just know the better plates are in the upper end of the price range so it's easy to spend $12 on 2 plates of sushi of 3-4 pieces each, so you might as well look into the full menu if you want bigger dishes), and I recommend getting taiyaki if you crave a sweet treat. I've yet to try out the full menu, but I'd come again if I want a light lunch. read more

The volcano roll was a feast for my eyes, and what a huge mound of tasty seasoned Krab meat! Then I went for the spicy tuna sandwich, which had plenty of tasty spicy tuna. They also have for dessert the kicked up donuts on their really long conveyor belt, from the vendor across from them, or you can get a 10% discount at the donut booth and pick from a bigger selection.
