The first thing that caught my eye was the size of the menu here. They had so many options to choose from at an affordable price. The staff were tentative and the establishment was very clean which made for a pleasant experience. I am looking forward to going back and trying more of the goodness the menu offers.

10/10 do not recommend. They totally sent me someone else's order. When I called them, they said "oh well...just call uber and figure it out" with zero regard to the customer. No sorry or anything. The sad part is they the bag had my name on it. Then they did something in their system to where I couldn't get my money back. It would have been a little okay, if they hadn't sent me a bunch of food that was soggy and smelled like it had been sitting out for a while. All I know is that this place is a HUGE NO GO ZOME for me and I will be telling any and all people that want sushi, that this restaurant is sketchy and not worth it!

Good food, attentive staff, clean environment. The udon soup is my favorite! Flavorful broth and large portion size.

I wanted to try out a new sushi spot and seen there were good reviews on UberEats. I decided to drive to order my food. I must say the restaurant felt more fast, casual and was quite noisy. Didn't bother me considering I was doing take out. Once making it home and trying out the food, I'm very disappointed. My shrimp in my bento box are obviously over cooked and very very dry. The sushi is comparable to sushi I could purchase at a grocery store... Don't see myself returning.

Yup. I almost missed SushiPop. I have been at this mall where Kroger Store is located on Wirt near Katy Freeway. But I frequently here at night prior to Covid-19 pandemic started. Just so happened I was shopping at IKEA on 9-11 Saturday. For some reason I was super hungry. I usually seek out quick bites before my weekly grocery shopping. I arrived at the parking lot to get Kroger Fuel. Oh, look! I see Sushi eh... Can't make out the rest of the sign. So I walk toward the restaurant to check out the menu. I really wanted something light but with substance. That's why I skipped boba teas and ice cream. The restaurant was fairly empty around 5-ish. But they still got some foot traffic of takeout customers. I ordered poke burrito made with tapioca wrap. Never had it before. But it was so delicious and delightful. I'm drooling as I'm drafting this review.

Not to be confused with Cherrypop, which is what happens once in a lifetime, if you're lucky, as Talking Heads might say. Not my favorite sushi place by any stretch of the imagination. Didn't quite do it for me and had slightly higher than average prices as well. Located right along I-10, and with a lot of competition for pretty decent sushi in Houston, this is somewhere between 3 and 4, but until I find something here that I really love, I will be keeping it at 3.

GENERALIZED REVIEW:…read more Came here with a friend from theatre after a full run--he had this place recommended to him by another theatre friend, so we're just passing on the word. The plaza was a bit confusing to navigate, and I'm pretty sure if the place weren't full of Asian parents and their kids, it would've felt like the shadiest place ever because you have to enter from the back. Otherwise, the plaza had a lot of great-looking stores overall. My first go-to: I've loved drinking Kirin Light ever since I discovered it in Chicago. The flavor is literally so light, with a slight acidity that brightens up my meal. The sake here was frankly also delicious. I didn't order it, but my friend did, and they had it warmed. The flavor was soothing and subtle, almost like tea. It was exceptionally easy to drink, and the ocean-themed ceramicware was a beautiful touch. We ordered two rolls: the Shaggy Dog and the Truffalufagus (a fun tongue-twister). I personally chose the Truffalufagus (which is not fun to spell) because it seemed like the most unique dish on the menu, and I enjoyed it very much. What I liked most about it was that it was subtle yet impactful. I also loved the textures--from the internal crunch paired with the fresh jalapeño to the softness of the fish. I'm glad I gave this roll a shot, and I would be excited to try it again anytime. The Shaggy Dog was great, but it appealed less to my flavor profile. It was a little too rich and creamy for me. I recommended this place to my BF as a potential future date spot--I personally think he would like it... if he weren't the type to enjoy AYCE sushi so much. If they had more unique rolls, I would definitely come back just for those. I was tempted to order the Surf and Turf for this round, but I didn't want to seem like a glutton, hahaha.

This was years back, but when we showed up on Saturday they honored the token. So lunch date was a go We came in slightly after opening. If you haven't been, this is over off of Long point in a large parking lot with plenty of parking available. Walking in there were only two other couples dining around the bar. Our weight staff went through the menu and off menu items. They had some interesting options that I have not tried previously so we tried a little bit of errythang. I ordered one of their off menu appetizers, miso hummus with taro chips. Served cold, it has a citrus taste that pairs well with the small spice from the chili paste. It was fantastic and well worth the $4. She ordered the miso soup. A very tasty and rue-like broth, distinct flavors, heavier and more satisfying than your normal miso. Almost gumbo consistency, loved it. We started with your basic three-piece set. Spicy tuna, salmon, and blue crab. You already know that both tuna and salmon are going to be amazing just because the fish by itself is amazing, especially when super fresh. Does it compete with my Pacific Northwest King Salmon, no. But I can't compare everything to that beautiful fish. These were all very fresh. Very tasty. The blue crab caught me off guard. Tasting fresh AF, a very good crab filled mouthful. I liked this more than I anticipated. We continued down the menu with Softshell Crab. With carrot and cucumber and an interesting spice mix in the black sesame aioli. Very tasty, surprisingly heavier than anticipated. Really liked it. We also ordered one of the off the menu rolls. This was a Toro roll with Texas peach and Pearl onion. There's a really interesting mix of flavors but it came out slightly sweet and very tasty. We did order a round of drinks. Sock It Ume highball, boozy with a hint of Citrus. Refreshingly strong. Everything's Lychee Keen. Also boozy, with Lychee twang. Overall our meal was fantastic! Service was excellent! Everybody was very courteous and super efficient. The facility was very clean and well organized. They served one roll at a time, and waited until we were done with the prior before making and serving the next. I did end up ordering another bowl of taro chips to finish the hummus. Hummus. It was a small added cost, but not a problem. Everything came out super fresh, and there was no waiting in between courses. Once they saw something was gone they worked on the next thing. It was also very nice to have the majority of the restaurant to ourselves, no crowd, very easy going lunch. If will definitely come back!

An Authentic Korean Seafood Experience Worth the Drive!…read more My wife and I had one of the most memorable dining experiences we've had in a long time at Il Me Jung. Don't let the small, unassuming location fool you--this family-owned restaurant is an absolute hidden gem. The warm, welcoming atmosphere and friendly service made us feel like guests rather than customers. The live seafood tanks filled with lobster, shrimp, octopus, and flounder immediately told us we were in for something special. We enjoyed live lobster prepared two ways (including an incredible lobster head soup), soy-marinated raw crab (Gejang), seafood pancake, stir-fried seafood, traditional banchan, authentic Korean soju, Terra beer, and even experienced Somaek the traditional way. Every dish was beautifully prepared, incredibly fresh, and bursting with authentic Korean flavors. The staff was patient, attentive, and happy to share recommendations. If you're looking for authentic Korean seafood--not just Korean BBQ--this is one of Houston's true treasures. We will absolutely be back, and next time we're bringing friends. Thank you for an unforgettable evening! Highly recommended!

This is definitely one Korean spot that i've been curious to try, especially that ganjang gejang…read more(raw marinated crab). Like many places along Longpoint, it's unassuming from the outside.. but don't let that fool you as this is a true mom and pop restaurant that's clearly built a loyal following over the years. You can often see local Korean regulars (always a good sign) and the vibe is rather authentic. (You can even book a private room for larger groups) Now, about that crab: It's clearly a specialty here, and I did enjoy they topping the dish with this savory, tangy marinade. And If you're a fan of raw crab, you'll likely enjoy the challenge and reward of cracking these.. but it's messy work (even with the gloves) and the flavor just wasn't for me personally. I will say good things about the classics: the banchans were plentiful, and the barbecue offerings were solid, Nothing overly fancy, but reliable. They also have a modest selection of beers and sojus. We didn't have any Korean speakers in our group, but the staff was patient and efficient. The menu can look intimidating at first glance, but you should be fine.. I may not order the crab again, but I'd definitely come back to explore more of the menu.
