Sushi Roll Lunch Special - Shrimp Tempura Roll, Tokyo Roll, Soup, and Salad

I went here for lunch and it was so good!! The service was excellent - my food came out so fast and it was all delicious! A great value for the price, too! The interior is small and quiet. I'll be back for sure!

Nom nom.. I have been here countless times, and it never disappoints! The sushi is what draws me here! Fresh & well-prepared! Not outrageously expensive either! The Tokyo Roll is delish!

Little hole in the wall shop. Really enjoyed the sushi rolls here. Great variety and good prices. We came here around 11 for lunch and it got full pretty fast. Lunch specials were under $14 Would recommend it!

Sushiya can also be pronounced SUSHI "YAY" in our family! This is a hidden gem in a strip mall of Fleming Island ... it's fairly quiet and the staff has always been friendly the couple of times we've been here. I had the dragon roll and the TNT roll. My son had the kids teriyaki with steamed white rice and vegetables and he devoured it without talking throughout the entire meal so we know it was great! I can't remember the names of the rolls my boyfriend ordered but he said they were fantastic as well. The sweet ending is when our server brought us fried Oreo cookies with whipped cream! YUM!!!

Honestly very upset. I got to the restaurant 18 minutes after ordering through the phone and my food was ready but when I got home I was shocked. Mainly upset that the Godzilla roll was 11.95$ and it was covered in extra bread crumbs and tasted like it sat out for hours. Was happy about the absurd amount of wasabi and ginger though.

Growing up on Fleming Island, this has been the most consistent Japanese restaurant near here. For the price that you pay the portions are larger than you would have expected, and the service is always on point. The sushi is always fresh it seems as though they take great pride in making sure things are up to a above average standard The only quarrel I have is with the interior/seating options that are at this location compared to others. It can get busy at some points in the week, and finding a table is near impossible, unless you'd like to be on-top of another table indirectly allowing them to hear everything you're saying and vice versa. Consistency is worth returning though, and I would recommend this restaurant.

The decor is playful and immersive, and there's usually something going on -- from live DJs to karaoke on the main stage. The drink menu is where Nakama really shines. There's a solid selection of mixed drinks, often with creative anime-inspired names and presentations, plus a nice bonus: they serve a local soda brand that's actually pretty tasty. It's the kind of place you go to kick back with friends, sing your heart out, and enjoy the scene. But when it comes to food -- that's where things fall flat. The menu technically comes from the café next door, and while it sounds promising on paper, it doesn't translate well to the plate. Most dishes are either way too salty or bland to the point of forgettable. It's clear food isn't the focus here, which is fine, but it's something to keep in mind if you're showing up hungry. Service is friendly and accommodating. Staff does their best, but they're often out of certain menu items and seem to be working with limited resources -- not their fault, but noticeable. Honestly, a new chef or reworked food concept would go a long way. A quick heads-up: the private karaoke rooms are fun but overpriced at $16 per person per hour, so weigh that before booking. Still, the open-stage karaoke and regular themed events keep the main space lively and fun without the extra cost. Bottom line: Nakama is a great place to hang out, drink, and enjoy anime-themed entertainment. Just maybe eat beforehand.

Prior reservations were made so we were quickly seated. The aesthetics of this place is so nice and the service is on the same level. The food came out quickly and I loved the portion sizes on everything. Everything we ordered was 10/10. The curry with the roti was a little spicy but still so flavorful. I ordered the veggie fried basil rice and spring rolls which were all amazing. My friend loved her ragoons and the sushi seemed to impress everyone who ordered. The food is plated in a way that tells you the kitchen cares. I did love the little robot that was moving around helping the waitresses. We were bringing the whole family and hoping for a fun night, but unfortunately the experience didn't match the ratings. From the start, the tone felt off. When I called to make the reservation, the host immediately said, "We don't seat incomplete parties. We only wait 5 minutes or we give the table away." The policy itself is understandable, but the delivery came across harsh and unwelcoming. A more thoughtful approach like, "We kindly ask that your full party arrives within 5 minutes, otherwise we may need to seat other guests," would have felt very different. When we arrived early and asked if we could be seated sooner (with the rest of our party just minutes away), we were met with the same response again, which felt unnecessary given that there were several empty tables. Unfortunately, the service inside didn't improve. Our initial waiter was inattentive and at times dismissive. We had to ask for basic things like utensils and plates for shared appetizers, and the responses often came with an unwelcoming tone. At one point, when I asked for a plate and knife to share, the interaction became uncomfortable, and I ended up asking to speak with someone. The situation was handled poorly, and the waiter did not return. On the food side, I ordered the Massaman chicken curry at the lowest spice level, and it was still too spicy to enjoy. That said, most of my family did enjoy their meals, which I appreciated. Thankfully, a different waitress stepped in later and was kind and attentive--if the service had been like that from the beginning, the experience likely would have been very different. I also spoke with the manager, Jorge, who was receptive to the feedback and said he would address the issues, which I did appreciate. Overall, I was really disappointed given the strong reviews and the lively atmosphere happening around us. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I wouldn't return.

Service was friendly, and the basics were basic and fine. But our sushi roll (ordered as an appetizer) didn't come out until halfway through our meal and it was more rice than anything else, to the point that all other flavors were covered by rice. Highly disappointing. The chef was fine, but didn't even comment on the child's birthday. Neither did the server, but did at least put a candle in the fried ice cream that I ordered (and paid for of course) that I asked for when she was starting to ask about the check. The check was to be split 3 ways and was done wrong, and I just paid the extra on mine instead of dealing with it. The bathrooms were filthy. I know I'm probably not gonna be popular with my opinions, but they are in fact my opinions in my feeling about what I had today. Food--4/10. If you know me, I hate to leave less than stellar reviews for places. But I was very unimpressed by the food here today. Almost everything was bland and locked flavor. The gyoza was over fried, the hibachi items were cooked well but lacking all seasoning, the mango rock roll tasted like nothing, and the spicy shrimp tempura roll had neither flavor nor spice. The only decent role was the sweet potato roll. I'll also say even the wasabi had no kick. I literally took the entire dollop and put it on a roll just to try to get some flavor from it. Also for the tempura items, they don't bring you any kind of Ponzu or dipping sauce. All you get is the regular Yum Yum sauce or soy sauce. I left my review at a four out of ten because all of the food items were prepared for the most part aesthetically, pleasing, visually and fully cooked pour the parts that were cooked. Service--7/10. The staff here was definitely amiable. I wouldn't say they were very friendly. They kind of addressed everything very mechanically. Even the food when it's brought out multiple orders are brought out by one person, and they dropped them at various tables without saying a word. I did not get a refill of my drink for the first time until the end of my meal. Atmosphere--9/10. This is one of the few times I have not taken a picture of the interior of a restaurant to share the atmosphere. Usually, I avoid taking pictures when there's a good amount of people around because I feel like I'm invading their time with their meal and companions. So all I can really say about this location is it is generally pleasing. It's it's clean. I'll be a bit crowded with the tables. The location is in a strip mall in Mandarin and parking is a little weird. The parking spots are very close though. All know it was an OK visit for the price. I feel like in my personal opinion there is much better sushi out there for only a couple dollars more per person for the buffet. But based on the crowds, they're even today it's obviously a popular location. It just was not my idea of good sushi.
