I thought I had reviewed Sushi King once before but I cannot find it, if I did. But, I have been here twice before and been satisfied each time. The staff is friendly and we're served in a very timely fashion. Twice I have gotten take out and it was as nicely prepared as when we dined in the restaurant. My daughter and grandson are more adventurous than I am and their sushi rolls, when we dined in, were fabulous-looking, as well as tasty. I stick with the more mundane California roll, usually, but this third time, on Christmas Eve, I was more daring and got a Mango Roll, too. Wow! It was delicious and I will get it again! (I asked for crab to be substituted in for shrimp--no argument at all!). They have a three rolls for a special price up until 3 p.m. Go for it!! The service was quick. The staff were efficient. The sushi wasn't the best quality though. I came in around lunchtime on a Wednesday. There were only two other tables seated in the building at the time and like I said everything was quick. The staff was awesome but the flavor just wasn't really there for me. Maybe if I would've ordered a specialty roll it would have been different. However I'm falling on a budget right now! The lunch sashimi sushi box cost a couple dollars more than my usual place but overall, it was worth it. I love the interior of the restaurant, not too flashy but very cozy and clean. Great sushi option in Julington Creek! I was house/ dog sitting out here and found this place thanks to Yelp reviews. After a long week I treated myself to lots of sushi takeout. Ordered online which was quick and easy. When I picked up my order the restaurant looked spotless & smelled so yummy. The sushi king roll was delicious, raw tuna & fish roe were delicious, and I liked the avocado roll too. Unfortunately the salmon was chewy and I didnt end up eating it (which is such a bummer cuz raw salmon is my ultimate fav food). I had to hear yelling Chinese for 15 minutes or more seemed like an eternity from their kitchen. I almost walked out. The sushi finally arrived very small pieces the rice was cold and hard and the sushi tasteless. I've been here multiple times now and the quality of the sushi has always been great! I like how sushi king has thicker sushi roll and the wasabi is always so soft and creamy. The restaurant is cute! Looks nice and clean and the service has always been quick! I recently just tried their hibachi and it honesty wasn't that great so I won't be getting that again. Been here a few times over the past year, but today they get dropped down to the "won't go there again" league. We showed up as a party of 4, and the waitress gave us 3 menus. There was only one other table of 2 seated, so there shouldn't be a shortage. But really, no big deal. Someone just wasn't paying much attention. But then when we went to order off the back page of the menu, the lunch specials, she asked me "do you know what time it is?" So I told her, "it's OK, it's not 3:00 yet." Apparently my word wasn't good enough, since she walked away from us in the middle of trying to order. She checked something on the counter -- her phone or the register or something. Then came back to let us continue. But that was enough. We were just watching her with our jaws dropped that she just walked away. Didn't believe me. No "sorry, you're right." Nothing. Even if it _was_ past 3, most of my regular lunch places would bend the rules by a few minutes. If your lunch special is supposed to end at 2:50, then change what your menu says. If it's critical that you execute a precise cut-off on the lunch specials, then wear a watch or ring a gong or something. Don't just walk away from people in the middle of ordering. If you had been just a little attentive, you would have noticed that 3 of us were reading and discussing the lunch menu when you brought our drinks. She was, at least, going to let us continue to place our order. But by then we decided we'd rather just find somewhere better to eat. Where people can count past 3. The sushi is excellent. We have had simple rolls such as spicy tuna and California roll, as well as special rolls like the mango roll, dragon, and a few others. My friend and I stopped in for lunch and she hadn't had sushi before so we did the spicy tuna roll,and pickle roll. For good measure in case she didn't like sushi we also ordered shrimp tempura with fried rice. She did like the sushi, but we couldn't let the shrimp and fried rice go to waste so we had that too. Their food is great. Everything that we ordered was tasty. One of the best sushi I've had. It should have been 5 stars if the young lady who waited my table didn't rolll her eyes at me because I didn't understand what she said and opened her mouth to answer me, instead of just mumbling "uhumm".
