Sushi Roll Lunch Special - Shrimp Tempura Roll, Tokyo Roll, Soup, and Salad

I went here for lunch and it was so good!! The service was excellent - my food came out so fast and it was all delicious! A great value for the price, too! The interior is small and quiet. I'll be back for sure!

Nom nom.. I have been here countless times, and it never disappoints! The sushi is what draws me here! Fresh & well-prepared! Not outrageously expensive either! The Tokyo Roll is delish!

Little hole in the wall shop. Really enjoyed the sushi rolls here. Great variety and good prices. We came here around 11 for lunch and it got full pretty fast. Lunch specials were under $14 Would recommend it!

Sushiya can also be pronounced SUSHI "YAY" in our family! This is a hidden gem in a strip mall of Fleming Island ... it's fairly quiet and the staff has always been friendly the couple of times we've been here. I had the dragon roll and the TNT roll. My son had the kids teriyaki with steamed white rice and vegetables and he devoured it without talking throughout the entire meal so we know it was great! I can't remember the names of the rolls my boyfriend ordered but he said they were fantastic as well. The sweet ending is when our server brought us fried Oreo cookies with whipped cream! YUM!!!

Honestly very upset. I got to the restaurant 18 minutes after ordering through the phone and my food was ready but when I got home I was shocked. Mainly upset that the Godzilla roll was 11.95$ and it was covered in extra bread crumbs and tasted like it sat out for hours. Was happy about the absurd amount of wasabi and ginger though.

Growing up on Fleming Island, this has been the most consistent Japanese restaurant near here. For the price that you pay the portions are larger than you would have expected, and the service is always on point. The sushi is always fresh it seems as though they take great pride in making sure things are up to a above average standard The only quarrel I have is with the interior/seating options that are at this location compared to others. It can get busy at some points in the week, and finding a table is near impossible, unless you'd like to be on-top of another table indirectly allowing them to hear everything you're saying and vice versa. Consistency is worth returning though, and I would recommend this restaurant.

Don't be fooled by it seeming like a whole in the strip mall wall! This place is great. Their holiday roll is such a treat. Fast too.

Not sure if it was from the wings or the ramen but it seemed we both had a slight case of food poisoning. Overall save yourself the time and drive to other ramen places available in Jax, as there are much better ones that won't leave you sick.

The cafe is more on the smaller side but it's cozy and the customer service is always happy and friendly! When you walk inside, there's a hot bar with all the food items available that day. You can check their Facebook page for their menu each day! You can get combos like an entree and a side, two entrees and a side, etc. On the shelves near the windows, there are local Filipino desserts like crinkles, puto (rice cake), flan, etc for sale. They also sell mac salad in the fridge and some dried fish on the shelves. What I love about this cafe is that they have a small snacks/drinks/candy market next to the dining area. The dining area is a good size and faces the parking lot. On this particular Saturday, we had the following entrees and sides: Lechon (roasted pig), Kaldereta (Filipino beef stew), and some rice! The lechon pieces were big and the skin (my fav!) was crispy, salty, and golden! The meat was also juicy and not dry. What I like to do is dip the meat into some white vinegar to give it some acidity since the lechon is on the heavy side after a few bites. The Kaldereta was hearty, rich, flavorful and it reminded me of an elevated beef stew. The potatoes and carrots literally melted in my mouth! I gave my combo plate a 8.5/10! My husband had Humba (braised pork belly that is slow cooked in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, bay leaves, fermented black beans, and sugar) and he thoroughly enjoyed it. He shared some pieces of it with me and it was smooth as butter. It was sweet and salty and his rice soaked up all the sauces. Definitely a must try! I would give it a 9/10 because the flavors were so rich and it made me want even more! The prices are reasonable for how much food you're getting! They also sell desserts like halo halo (shaved iced with fresh fruits, taro ice cream, toppings like flan, condensed milk, jellies, beans, etc.) I've personally had the halo halo and it's one of my favorites! Super refreshing on a hot summer day. They also sell mango and taro flavored cakes but you have to call in advance for whole cakes. Their cakes are light, delicious, and fluffy! I especially enjoy the mango cake because you get chunks of fresh, champagne mangoes on and inside the cake. We've been coming here for years and don't plan on stopping. My husband is a bit of a Filipino food snob at times, but Lola's definitely has a special place in his heart! They do military discounts too, FYI!

They have many options to choose from in terms of different meats, greens, sushi, desserts, noodles, and more. The aesthetics of the restaurant are beautiful--definitely the highlight of the visit. The space is well designed and visually appealing, which initially made me excited to dine there. However, the service and food quality did not match the atmosphere at all. Our waiter was not knowledgeable about the menu and couldn't answer basic questions about the items or broths. The food placed on the bar appeared frozen rather than fresh, which was concerning for a hot pot experience. I ordered the Tom Yum soup base, and it was honestly one of the worst I've had. The flavor was unpleasant, and after putting my food into the pot, it completely ruined the meal to the point where I couldn't eat any of it. To make matters worse, I ordered a Sex on the Beach cocktail, and it tasted extremely watered down with almost no flavor. Overall, the only positive part of this experience was the restaurant's aesthetics. Unfortunately, good décor can't make up for poor service and bad food. I will not be returning.

I hadn't been to Karans gourmet in years, and was looking forward to the chicken schwarma (because it was soooo delicious). I noticed the food display was completely different. It was all Filipino food, which I do not have a problem with, but at this time I was looking for the Mediterranean portion. I noticed the menus still have the same Mediterranean food listed as Karanms did, in addition, the restaurant still displayed the old video of Karams making their schwarma wraps. I was skeptical, but simply because they still had Karams name listed as well as the video playing I thought " maybe the guy Joseph is in the back making the Shawarma's". I was extremely disappointed when it wasn't him making it, the really nice gentleman said they still make it. He cut the meat off the spit and he took it in the back. What I got was not what I used to have; the chicken was flavorless the lettuce and tomatoes did not look fresh, there was abundance of some garlic tasting sauce on it, and the tzatziki sauce wasn't the same. In addition, the wrap was not the same wrap. It was a very thin pita bread that was cut in half. My wrap was falling apart before I could take a decent bite. I took one bite and I could not finish it. I threw it out. It was just a sloppy garlic tasting mess. I was EXTREMELY disappointed. The restaurant should remove all the Mediterranean displays or at least remove that video and Karams name completely so people do not think it's still the same person making it. There's a reason why they offer samples of the honey chicken. If you're going there looking for Korean's gourmet don't.

While the other spots in the food court have long lines for food that is in fact mass-produced, this stand is run by an elderly couple who are actually cooking the food themselves, start to finish, working the wok, keeping things fresh. They dropped fresh beef egg rolls for me on the spot. I said the egg rolls that were out were just fine, but he insisted. He went and told his wife to make us them fresh. These are not the sad cabbage-heavy kind either. These are packed with seasoned beef, veggies, and the kind of crisp shell you only get when something comes straight out of the fryer. My photos say it better than I can. He also gave us extra sauce and even double meat. He poured the sauce on the noodles for us, SERIOUSLY RECOMMEND. The noodles are indescribably good. You know, when it tastes so good your brain cells fuse with your taste buds and words don't even exist anymore. The chicken dish has that deep, caramelized glaze you only get when someone is paying attention to the pan. With lots of love. Everything has actual texture and flavor, not the gummy, oversweet stuff you find everywhere else. The craziest part? The line was empty. Meanwhile people were waiting at places that don't even cook their own food. MORE FOR ME I GUESS. Visiting my son & DIL this past weekend, both of my son's dining suggestions were wing-focused. But my vegetarian DIL (she eats some seafood) seemed to be more interested in Bonchon than the other potential spot, so I took her side to make our choice. I can usually find something to eat on any menu, in spite of my immature palette, and Bonchon was no exception. In fact, there are several other things I want to try now! We started with the Korean Cucumber Salad & Bao Buns with Pork Belly. No one that knows me will be surprised that the cucumber salad was much too hot for me. But here is something unexpected... I loved the cole slaw on the Bao Bun, and the sauces were complementary enough that the spice level was fine for me. I would definitely order the Bao Buns again, and try the other meats. For my meal, I ordered the Bibimbap with Bulgogi, and really enjoyed it. Their marinated beef was very tasty, and of course I love an egg on just about anything. Another (non)shock, I did not care for the Bibimbap Sauce because it was rather hot; I appreciated that it was served on the side. Hubs said the mushrooms & caramelized onions were very good, but I didn't eat either. Then I tried a Classic Crunch drumstick, and fell in love! Yes, I bit into it like y'all do, and ate the skin, too. What a delicious piece of chicken! I didn't even need a dipping sauce (& I can't remember what the boys chose anyway). My son insisted that I'd enjoy a Korean BBQ wing also, and I'm sure I would, but I was already getting full. Next time! Also for my next visit, my DIL got a Mopo Corndog as her appetizer (though she also ate a lot of the cucumber salad), and it looked amazing! The name was confusing (to me), but there is no hot dog inside, so I want to try one. Fried mozzarella & potato cubes! They have two versions, so of course I want to try both; although I'm rather skeptical about the sugar-cinnamon coating, I'm anticipating an unexpectedly delicious bite. Service was fantastic, although they weren't very busy yet on this Saturday evening. Our server was very attentive & friendly, and none of us waited for a new drink or refill. My son & DIL evidently visit often, so I'm sure we'll return. I wish we had a Bonchon location closer to us!
