I drive 40 minutes just to come eat here. The quality of food for such a good price is unmatched. The chicken teriyaki is better than I've had at some expensive hibachi places! And literally everything on the menu is incredible. I am very picky about sushi but I have loved every single type I've tried here. My favorite is the King Lobster Roll and my entire family loves it. The staff are so nice and they really work so hard to give you an excellent experience. The restaurant is very clean and well-decorated, you don't expect it from outside but it's a beautiful place once you enter the doors. Salad - ginger dressing was on point, they did not mind changing out my soup for this yummy salad. We finally stopped in Midori after passing it for a couple of years. What a nice surprise. The staff was so nice and we were seated right away. We ordered the Kabuki roll and it was made to perfection. We were also given a small complimentary crab stick with teriyaki to try and it was absolutely delicious! We ordered a side of noodles and we both ordered the hibachi steak and chicken. The food was so fresh and delicious. We both commented that the vegetables were more fresh than we are accustomed to when eating hibachi out. The portions were enough for two meals. The dining room isn't large but is decorated nicely and feels authentic. I recommend Midori and we will definitely be back. read more

Decided to try Midori as it was close to the place where I was staying and it did not disappoint. The clear soup was the best I have ever had and the sushi roll was really good. We stopped eating here because of their abysmal customer service. It's a very small restaurant yet they always seem overwhelmed. This restaurant has one of the kindest owners that I've come across in the restaurant industry. The food is always perfect. My order is always correct and my drink is never empty. Things are always prompt and delivered to my table with a smile! This restaurant is in the back area of the parking lot. It is next to a tattoo parlour. The outside is nice and clean. The inside looks taken care of good. When we arrived three was only one other table being used. We were ignored at the door for five minutes. It took longer to get out drink order in. Another bunch of people arrived. They were ignored so long they sat themselves. Someone from there group even seated another group this st arrived after them and got them menus. The food had an average turnover. It was not very good. The other table complained and got yelled at by the server. We will not be returning there. read more

I should have read the reviews before going. First of all, we were trying to go to Fancy Sushi on Collins but they were closed. I glanced briefly at this place for reviews and it had 4.2 stars on Google, although now I'm not sure how. We sat down and I'd say it took a good 7-8 minutes before anybody came and talked to us, and there were three other tables occupied, so not busy. I let my server know that the Diet Coke tasted a little off, and she just kind of stared at me until I asked if they had unsweet tea instead. Weird interaction. She took our orders and didn't come back for easily 30 minutes. My mom ordered a Pinot Grigio with a side of ice (which I feel like isn't super uncommon) and she couldn't drink it because it was so bad. When our server did show back up, we asked if we could just buy a bottle of the other Pinot Grigio brand because this stuff was so bad. She said it tasted bad because my mom put ice in it. Ok lady, I think it might taste bad because the whole bottle cost $4 from Walmart but whatever. Another weird interaction. About 40 minutes after being sat, she finally remembered to bring us the soup and salad that came with our meal. About two minutes later, she brought out my mom's shrimp hibachi. About 20 minutes later, we got our sushi. It's a shame that I'm giving this place one star, because the hibachi would probably have been good if it were warm, and the sushi wasn't half bad. However, the service was terrible and they don't seem to care that they are terrible. They got probably 10 or 12 door dash orders while we were there (I know, because their tablet kept ringing the little door dash jingle). It seems like this should maybe just be a takeout place if they can't even try to give customer service. read more

Since they changed ownership the food has gone down. The quality is no longer there and the prices were raised. They no longer out the little pieces of zucchini and squash in the fried rice. I had no vegetables whatsoever in the fried rice not even peas or carrots. The potion sizes are smaller. They should just change the bane altogether because they aren't upholding any of the same quality standards the old owners were. I just moved here and was craaaaaving some sushi. I basically just tried to find a place close to me with decent prices. I found this place and decided to give it a go. I called ahead and placed my order for pick up. Two Philadelphia Rolls and one Dynamite Roll. It was $16. Not tooooooo bad. philly rolls were 4.50 a piece I believe and the Dynamite Roll was 7.50 I believe, as well. The inside was super small and the employees were all having dinner together at one of the tables, which I hear is actually normal for these kinds of places. I felt like I was kindof getting a cold shoulder, like I was bothering them. I got this the second time I went and picked up this past week, as well. I definitely don't like the customer service but the sushi isn't bad! I enjoyed it! The photos on here of their sushi is DEFINITELY not what you get for take out though. The photos of sushi look so fancy and beautifully plated but they crammed three rolls(two cold, one hot) in the same container and it made my cold sushi hot as well. Which taste wise made it even better in my opinion but not everyone would feel the same way. I'm going to try another place and see if it's any better than here. Before I moved from OP to the Southside when I started at UNF, I was stoked when a sushi restaurant finally opened up and it quickly became my usual sushi spot when I didn't feel like making the drive to Riverside for some Sushi Cafe. Whether I dine in or pick up, service is always friendly, the sushi is fresh and well-constructed, and I'm never disappointed. They have a nice selection of rolls, not too boring and not too crazy, all at prices that won't break the bank. Affordable lunch specials, also. The decor is very simple, but pretty as well as authentic. A beautifully woodworked ship adorns the sushi bar. Very clean establishment, too. And often you'll see the owners' young daughters running around the restaurant. Cute kids. We JUST ordered sushi for delivery, and goodness was it delicious! A Red Dragon roll, Crunchy Tuna, some individual Octo/Tako? pieces, Gyoza, and a ginger salad! The Red Dragon is a fried roll and it was still hotter than some pizzas I order for delivery! Everything else is pretty much your standard sushi taste. Just as delicious as sitting in, except we got to stay in the comfort of our home and catch up on some Netflix! The only thing I'd say was off is the ginger dressing to the salad. I'm not sure if they make theirs similar to a mayo dressing, but it definitely didn't have enough ginger pizazz to it. My granddaughter chose this as her place to introduce me to sushi because she loves this place. It is small and really out of the way in a strip mall in Orange Park. However, the menu is extensive, and if you sit at the bar you can watch them make the sushi rolls. Even though I am not a fan of raw fish, I tried what my granddaughter recommended and was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't the fish that got me, it was the seaweed rolls I didn't like. All in all it was a pleasant surprise for me. The clear soup and avocado ginger salad were excellent and I really liked the sushi except for the pieces that had large seaweed. I LOVE that I can go there and spend my money on QUALITY food and feel like family! This is place is not like the stereotypical Japanese restaurant. It is MUCH nicer. The staff is actually the family that owns the place. The food is just to die for. No cheesy tables doing the onion volcano or flipping shrimp. It's a small sit and dine restaurant. Beef Teriyaki dish looks so fancy and tastes so good that you'd think it was going to be a very pricing dinner. Not at all. The sushi is amazing too. I have been going here since the day they opened. It's worth it. It's a tight nit family that works day and night to help please customers. I've watched their child grow up.
