Man... I hate to leave a bad review for a mom and pop spot. But, I have to be honest. I took my kids here based on the reviews, menu, food pics etc. We walked in on a Monday morning and sat down as the only table and some people at the bar counter. Ordered drinks. Got then drinks and then another person took our order. Everything was ok up to this point Our food came and was good. Nothing amazing (country fried steak for myself and normal kids fare for my kids). I also had a coffee. No one came to check on us. No one came to refill a water or my coffee. We only had two silverware and I couldn't get anyone's attention. At this point there was no one at bar and two other tables. No one even looked at us as I sat staring at them Then they offered more coffee to the table right behind me and walked away. Really? I'm from the south where we know pleasantries and service. To top it off, they didn't even put in my togo order that I asked for at the time of ordering. I couldn't have asked for it any other time, since no one ever checked on us... It's small, food was ok nothing amazing but service was god awful. I get it if your busy, but if you're not pay attention to your customers and stop talking to each other about your secret Santa dilemmas and looking at some persons tonies box. Wish I was making that up Also, half the reason I went was for a cinnamon roll to bring back to my wife. They only make them on Fridays, so that was a bummer, too. read more

We popped into Susie's for brunch before we hit up the Ghost Town Museum (conveniently located about 1/4 mile away, and also worth a visit!). This is a mom & pop style eatery located up on a hillside. There is great outdoor seating with views of the greater Colorado Springs area. We had no trouble grabbing a table on a Saturday, and the staff was funny, quick, and attentive. Fun spot for a brunch or lunch! read more

1st visit but we'll be back! We were the first customers to arrive and we were greeted with smiles. We had our choice of tables and had a lovely lady there with coffee immediately, but we chose iced tea. Menus were on the table and our server also gave us the Skillets menu. Hubby chose the Veggie Omelette with home fries and wheat toast. I decided on the Sunrise Skillet (potatoes, bacon, spinach, 2 eggs, Swiss cheese, avocado) with wheat toast. We also ordered a side dish of their homemade green chile to share. All dishes came out quickly. The plates were large and the food filled them. My skillet was delicious and the green chile added a nice kick (good taste and slight spicy but not too hot). This is a nice little cafe. The food we had was good, but not excellent. It's a nice location and atmosphere. The staff was all friendly.

Second time here, it was busier but still well worth the wait. We were able to meet the owner which was great. Susie is very sweet and has definitely made this place cozy. From the decor to her dedicated staff this is a place to be for breakfast or lunch. read more

We have lived near Susie's for over a year. We finally went to have breakfast today. We had a fantastic experience. Everyone was so attentive and sweet. What an awesome find. We sat at the bar top facing the cooks and it was a treat. The food was so good. I had 1/2 order b&g and my husband had the French toast plate, both excellent choices. It has been awhile since we were at Susie's. We told ourselves that it wa good the last time so let's go back. We were delighted to discover they prepare the best biscuits and sausage gravy in town. I note this because I have eaten at so many breakfast places in town and only order this plate for breakfast along with one sunny-side up. This is because it is not prepared at home anymore. B&G of my childhood was a basic do it yourself breakfast. It is really hard to mess this one up. But many places in this town do. The service is here is down-home sweet and neighborly. This was probably one of the worse dining experiences I've ever experienced w/ my partner. As requested by the staff members, we could sit anywhere we wanted. We sat and just a disgusting amount of flies. We moved tables. We witnessed a young girl killing flies around people who were clearly eating their food. The young girl and an older blonde lady (who must be the owner) kept staring at me and my partner like we weren't suppose to be in their space. The woman who took our order never checked in on us, checked to see how the food tasted, if there was anything we needed. We were rushed out by the staff members as the young lady took our dishes assuming we were done. Then upon checking out, the young girl walked away from us while closing out our tab. The food was also extremely bland and not flavorful. I don't recommend it and the older blonde woman staring at me weirdly. read more

This place is for people who love finding great food in unexpected environments. I'd eat here every weekend if I lived closer. Service was perfectly friendly, not fancy and the breakfast entrees we ordered came to us just as we hoped. Fresh avocado slices and tomato, bacon, on my specialty eggs benedict. Potatoes were crisp, not greasy. Portion sizes were good. I didn't leave hungry, but didn't worry about a food coma on the way. Everyone cleaned their plates. Great breakfast and great service! Looking for a place in picturesque Colorado Springs that was more traditional than "crunchy" and kale based in the very hipster town of CS. Suzy's fit the bill. The limited yet varied menu meant there was pancakes for 9yo and a "California Eggs Benedict " for DD. Our server kept our coffee refilled and offered non dairy creamer as well as half and half. This is a family owned place and is decorated with standard America diner kitsch but is bright and cheerful. Outside seating is available. This was my first time! Its located in Old Colorado City off 21st. It's small but also has bar area. I had the HOBO SCRAMBLE-NO MUSHROOMS W/ biscuit, cheese grits and OJ! Originally had a lemonade but it was not good. If you like BLAND AND UNSEASONED food this is the SPOT! The food was good but lacks any flavor, there's no salt or pepper to be found even the green chili is bland. The grits are instant butter grits and not cooked long enough. The portions are big and they're not pricey I paid $18! Kids are welcomed but I wouldn't bring my child because the environment is very much "SENIOR CITIZEN"! I hope they continue to have business but it was not for me. read more

Our first visit to Susie's Westside Cafe and it was great experience. My hubby had kitchen sink omelet without the veggies (go figure ;) ). It was very good with all the meats together. I had Hobo scramble with bacon. It was delicious. I asked for side of their cream gravy and green Chile and I liked them both. I think they make a pretty mean cream gravy that compliments my scramble. We will definitely return when we get back down to Colorado Springs. The wait staff were top notch and always kept your coffee full. It is small place and gets packed rather quickly, so get here early. Definitely great place to stop and feel like home. read more
