If I could I would go e this establishment, attend amazing fresh breakfast cook to order you can sit inside at the counter or outside they have tables or even do an order to go. The food is amazing. Service was top-notch and friendly. We definitely will be coming here again.
This place is an experience! Food network called their breakfast burrito 'Colorado's best breakfast' and I have to agree. It was amazing! And huge. Get it covered in green chili. Yum! My son ordered the French toast and loved it. He cleaned his plate and asked for more. My other son order d the cheese burger and it was delicious too! It's a tiny place but a place you must visit!!
I've heard about this place so had to stop by. Food sizes are huge! I asked for a 1/4 grump but with the eggs on the side. I was told that I would be charged a plate fee to separate the eggs. Ridiculous. I ended up saying no eggs so they took 20 cents off of the meals price. Super fast service and the food was delicious, though. Email address was provided on the receipt for the manager, so I emailed them about the extra plate charge. No response was received.
I was visiting Colorado and was wondering places to try. This place was one of the top spots I heard of online. Looking at the heavy portions, I was easily convinced. Here's our experience on a Saturday morning. AMBIANCE: Parking: The parking plazaa is really small (5 cars about). However there is metered parking around the area. Seating: It's very intimate. There is inside seating for about 10 people inside and about 12 people (3 groups) outside. Feels: The surroundings are the outter ends of Colorado Springs thus it is not an extremely busy area. The diner itself is very intimate, if you seat inside you can easily see and smell the food being cooked. A vibrant place decorated with small business stickers and their awards. The music ranges from pop to hip-hop. Great place for people of all ages FOOD: Breakfast Burrito (Recommend) I requested for all three meats with half and half chile verde and gravy sauce. It was an extremely filling dish. I had to take leftovers home. It was extremely flavorful. I enjoyed the chorizo sausage and bacon combo and the rich cheese. The chile verde gave it an extra kick and the gravy provided a good savory taste. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Fantastic. Good energy, knowledgable information, and welcoming personalities. Their energy made this place extra memorable. TL; DR OVERALL: 5 Stars. This place provided a great impression for my takes on Colorado. I enjoyed the creative/style of the menu, food was delicious, and the price was reasonable. I highly recommend this place for people visiting the area. I look forward coming back here to conquer the rest of their menu. TIPS: * CASH ONLY * Portions too big? They got smaller sizes as well. * You do get a sticker for cleaning your plate * You have a choice of Tobasco or Cholula

If I'm going to dine here it's going to be at this location. It's teeny and comfortable. I love the staff so much. Kings chef diner is exciting because the amount of enthusiasm that pours through these doors for patrons coming to eat. The proclaim the best chili and I will flat disagree, you want chili you've got to travel down to New Mexico hands down, argue with me I really don't care. On the sweeter side I will agree the French toast is just delicious. I wish they'd do away with individual packages syrup and or replace with pure maple syrup. The orange juice is fresh squeezed but very expensive for the serving size and not worth the price. Picture shown is of the mer'l scramble, a dish I tend to stick with.
I've never been disappointed by the food. They serve up an amazing breakfast with great customer service. This place is definitely worth the trip
While driving through Colorado Springs, I knew there was one diner I wanted to go too: The King Chef Diner. It had been on the Food Network before! Atmosphere: It's a small, purple, castle located on the main road. If you aren't familiar with, "yes that is a diner," then you'll wonder what you are driving by. That being said, it's one of the best atmospheres out there! The inside 13 people at the most, and everyone must sit at the bar. You can watch the chef in the back or talk to the waitress. Everyone speaks to everyone, and you immediately have to meet new friends. It's clear that it's a local favorite. Coffee: The coffee was brewed hot and fresh, with plenty of whipped cream. I have no complaints. Service: For the entire diner, there is one waitress and one cook. Which makes sense because it's so small! Our waitress was extremely friendly, knew almost everyone, and our food came out quickly. Food: King Chefs diner is open for breakfast and lunch, and you can order anything at anytime. The King Chef diner has unique options such as a breakfast burrito. The portions are huge. The burrito had: The burrito had a flour tortilla stuffed with; two scrambled eggs, sausage, grilled onions, hash browns & shredded cheese. I choose to top mine with their signature green chili! It was spicy (which I like!). It was one of the best burritos I have ever had. I had watched the Food Network episode so I knew to come hungry. My husband and I had also run earlier and I even I struggled to finish the burrito. I enjoyed the King Chef Diner, and I would go back anytime! I highly recommend it.
The food was great and the portions were huge ! I got 1/2 order of the breakfast burrito with one side of green chilies and the other gravy and was full the rest of the day. I also can't say enough about how pleasant the staff were, even the owner I believe it was came over asked how our meal was but also took the time to ask where we were from and gave us some other good ideas for things to do while in town.

Brooke and Casey made us feel right at home when we arrived and helped make room for the three of us right away. The portions are huge and everything we had was on point. I got a half order of The Thing and everything about it was perfect. From the crispy hash browns to the delicious crumbled chunks of thick bacon topped off with two eggs and some of the best green Chile I've had to date. A+ service and food. Highly recommend this place too small groups looking for great meal. Looking forward to coming back on my next trip to CO.
When visiting Colorado Springs Colorado we never miss the opportunity to visit King's Chef Diner. Not only in the food great but the price and service is also great. We usually go for breakfast but have also been there for lunch. For breakfast my wife and I have the breakfast green chili burrito and coffee. I like this place so much I am salivating while writing this review. Will definitely return soon. read more

We drove in on the way from Tx To Denver, we pulled up to the old location and where skeptical about trying since it looked small and closed but then we saw that they relocated Customer Service was outstanding, you can see the cooks shredding the fresh potatoes for hashbrowns, The Breakfast Burrito was amazing! The hatch chilli sauce was a great touch. Deffinetly looking forward to come back! read more
I personally really like this place. Had the breakfast burrito with half gravy and half green chillin on top. Was pretty dang good. And the hash browns are always cooked well here. Service was good. It's like a get in and have some breakfast and get out type of place. Great breakfast spot for sure. read more

While driving through Colorado Springs, I knew there was one diner I wanted to go too: The King Chef Diner. It had been on the Food Network before! The food was great and the portions were huge ! I got 1/2 order of the breakfast burrito with one side of green chilies and the other gravy and was full the rest of the day. Great mom & pop place. Great service. We ate outside on a lovely day. The food was great, and the portions are huge. Order the half portions - they are plenty. Counter ordering and small dining area on stools only. Pay cash only. Good burgers. Kids meals. Known for chili which is spicy, green and very good. Great Mexican influence. Food served fresh and hot, though a bit greasy. Only drawback: smallest bathroom known to man. Definitely recommend! read more

as you can see I posted a picture of the best breakfast in the World above...... I mean what else needs to be said...Texas toast, topped with 2 eggs, topped with bacon, ground beef, and ham, then topped with hashbrowns,topped with grilled onions, topped with country gravy and last but not least cheese on top.... FUCK ....its GOOD!!!!!!!!!! the place is a tiny little purple castle.....its impossible to get a seat...so just run for one of the park benches outside.....its been featuredon food network......the place is awesome.....its making me want to fly to Colorado Springs...smoke a joint and head to Kings Chef.....and I don't even smoke joints..... Try it...This is one of the Best Hole In the Walls EVER!!!!!!!!! read more

Recently had breakfast at King's Chef while on vacation to Colorado springs. This place is so tiny and wonderfully retro! Parking is limited, an eensy weensy lot next to the building, or street parking. There was some seating available outside (picnic tables), and indoors it was counter-side only, maybe room for 15 people or so. The service was great, you could tell they get a lot of regulars here. The atmosphere was only enhanced by the Sinatra tunes played over the waitress's iPhone. It was like being transported back in time. The food is classic diner fare, and they are known for their breakfast burrito. If you can manage to clean your plate here, they'll give you a "Clean Plate Club" sticker to brag with. I did not earn this distinction, no matter how I tried to make a dent in my massive, delicious omelet. Their hash browns are probably the best I've had anywhere. Bring an appetite!! read more

Perfect 5 stars for the "small diner/greasy spoon" type place. Just two employees and enough seats for maybe 10 people shoulder to shoulder. I ordered some sloppy mess of a breakfast meal with potatoes, onions, peppers, eggs, and sausage gravy. Everything was cooked to perfection just as I like it. Not to mention that there was a huge amount of food. The wife ordered a grilled cheese and bacon fries. I have never seen such a large amount of fries and cheese and fresh cooked bacon all in one place outside of a basket. She couldn't finish. They don't take credit or debit so bring some cash. Not much more to say about this one. Just go there and enjoy. read more

Why did I have a bagel before I came. The portions are ginormous. I want to be in The clean plate club. I did not bring an appetite but what I had was fantastic. Best hash browns I've had in a long time. Casey knows how to slang the hash. No Raw bit's all cooked perfectly, over medium egg that was actually over medium, and some nicely toasted toast. I know that's a boring breakfast. Holy green chilies I'll be back. Say a woman clean her plate and order some more was impressed. They had so many things I wanted to try but just wasn't hungry. Went there for a meeting. I love the smallness of the location it reminds you of old school dining cars. And I'm sure when it's busy it's standing room only and eat your plate and get out. But that's what makes it. Now mind you the staff is friendly and they don't give off get out vibes but of you ever been to this type of dinner you know how it works. Was introduced by a long time regular and he was not wrong. They greet you on the first name basis. And the conversations pretty awesome. Had to text my brother before I left he has to come and clean his plate. Be back soon and often. Michael is a great server too. But what that man did with the potato and a grater was amazing props to Casey the chef de cuisine. read more
This place is AMAZING!! I got a half order of The Thing and it blew my mind. The other member of the party got a half order of The Grump and it was equally delish. The service was truly top notch, as the waitress introduced both herself and the cook, and asked for our names as well. The whole place seats about 10 so be prepared to get cozy and chat with your dining neighbors Cash only, no atm on site so come prepared. read more
