So many good items here! So glad that thai cuisine is growing in Scarborough. The atmosphere and interior is quite vibey and great for large and small groups. They have music and the staff are very welcoming. The food was so good! The crab fried rice is flavourful and medium spice is perfect but could be a bit too spicy for some (ex shin level?) There's a bunch of crab meat and a soft shell crab on top that has a flavourful fried crust. The pad Thai is savory and a nice portion. A great size for the cost. The fried wontons are crispy and a great appetizer. We didn't taste too much of the Tom yum flavour but overall taste was flavourful and a great texture. The mango sticky rice was quite good too. The rice was coloured from Pandan, butterfly pea tea leaf, and rose. The mango was very sweet and such a classic Thai dish. Another great Scarborough spot!
This plaza has a plethora of dining and drink options, but we decided to try out the Thai restaurant as a table of four. Atmosphere is modern and hip, with music thumping and a bustling dining area. Thankfully, they have plenty of tables so we were able to grab a seat even on a Saturday evening without reservations. We had the papaya salad, fish curry, beef noodle, and the seafood stirfry. They were happy to adjust the spice levels to our liking as we had people at the table that could not eat spicy food. As it is Thai food, a lot of the flavours tend towards the sweeter side, but everything was well balanced and delicious. My personal favourite for the night was the papaya salad as I really enjoyed its bright flavors.
This place had a massive line up, but it did not live up to the hype, the music was too loud we asked to turn it down they would not, we had a small baby, we ordered green curry panang curry, pass kee mao, fried rice and papaya salad. The panang curry was so bad, it was very sweet, bitter no flavor, The pad kee mao was pretty good, good amount of heat, noodles were soft and cooked perfectly, but the cleanliness was bad, the table was so dirty they tried their best to clean it but who wants to eat at dirty table. I won't come here again I think they need to improve their food.
Their pad thai is pretty good but the panang curry was disappointing. I was actually surprised at how much I did not enjoy it, as I'm usually a huge fan of panang curry from most thai places. Hate to compare but Sukhothai is also in Scarborough and their panang curry is all I could think about while dining here.
Came here on a weekday night! It was busy, but we were seated immediately. Interior is nicely decorated and staff are super welcoming. I came here with 2 of my friends and we all shared their chicken wings, crispy Tom yum wontons, pad Thai, and panang curry. The apps were delicious, full of flavour, and had nice crispy textures. The pad Thai is good and Panang curry was really good! I love Thai curries and feel like I've never had bad Thai curry. So delicious and flavourful. Pretty solid Thai spot!
Met up with friends who recommended this Thai restaurant located opposite from the large 24/7 Asia Food Mart (a humongous Disneyland experience of Asian grocery/hot food items). Parking can be difficult due to the popularity of this Food Mart and the slew of restaurants within the same area. Beautifully decorated with a contemporary flair, combo of booths and separate tables. Impressive menu with many authentic Thai dishes listed, at first I thought no way, they can't pull this off but gladly they proved me wrong Majority of staff were Thai, gave me an opportunity to speak my very limited Thai. Staff constantly smiling and filling your water glass during the meal. This is what customer service should aspire to Unbelievable as I forgot to take photos before I devoured the dishes ordered, that's how good it was. Cabbage with fish sauce, it may sound offputting but they did it right, cabbage cooked/fried perfectly with a slight hint of fish sauce saltiness, umami and smokey aftertaste. Grilled pork jowl, grilled well, large portion, nanjim dipping sauce on point, chef/cooks know what they're doing!!! Panang curry w/chicken, good flavor but similar to many other restaurants I've visited, nothing special but curry lovers will be overjoyed. Pad Me Mao- stir fried flat noodles with a bunch of other ingredients (check out their menu list of ingredients for this dish). Masterfully combined and cooked. I did manage to take photos of the dessert, Pandan Thai toast, what a work of art, toasty bread chunks crispy with soft interior, Pandan normally suble but this one hits you hard which is a good thing, coconut ice cream excellent and home made, now that's what I'm talking about, A wonderful combination highly recommended. Skip the banal cheesecake, tiramisu, brulee nonsense and YOLO this dessert!!! Mixed feelings as now I need to start planning for another trip back to Thailand where I can experience these same dishes again for 75% less, Thailand has spoiled me rotten
3.5/5, +.5 for service Went here for lunch with a friend as he suggested this place in Scarborough for Thai food. It wasn't too busy when we went around 1pm on a Saturday. This place is huge, and had some pretty unique decorations as well. I imagine it'd be pretty busy for dinner given the surrounding area. I had the Susu Pad Thai with chicken, after struggling between a couple of choices. It was pretty good, though I liked Chiang Rai a bit more. Prices are about standard for lunch these days (over $20). Service was excellent here. I'd return, although there really are other decent Thai options in the area that have popped up in the past couple of years.
This was my second time at Susu Siam, and it was just as good as I remembered. I went with three friends and we shared shrimp pad Thai, papaya salad, crispy pork, seafood curry, and the pandan toast for dessert. Everything tasted fresh and flavourful, and the portions were solid. The service was friendly and quick, and the whole experience felt easy and relaxed. I'll definitely keep coming back.
Came here on a Wednesday for early dinner. Not that busy, and such cute vibes! Food: - Miang crispy pork - served to share, crispy bbq pork, served with lettuce and veggies like cucumbers on the side. A sweet tangy tamarind sauce to compliment and dip the lettuce wrap. Portions were generous and super filling!!! - Hat Yai chicken wings - HUGE. crispy, fried to perfection topped with crispy onions. A great protein option to top up the meal. Flavourful, and filling. - Beef Pad Kee Mao - loved the flavour, thick noodles, tossed in a soy sauce base, mixed with veggies. Cannot go wrong with a Pad Kee Mao at a Thai resto! Perfect to share. Service - was amazing. Friendly, checks in, refills water and ensures meal is great throughout. Able to explain how to eat specific items like the pork lettuce wrap. Responsive, kind, and personable. Overall, recommend this Thai spot! Would definitely come back and try other items as well :)
What a great Thai option close to home! The best service we had as they were very attentive even when it was busy to check in and provide us water. The food itself was also better than expected. The flavours are authentic and could be adjusted for those who can't take 'too spicy'. The best was the Mama Tom Yum Noodle ($35, best value), any of their curries (includes rice!) and the Thai Fried Rice ($20, great umami without being too salty). I like how a variety of proteins is either included or just a slight upcharge for the rice or noodle dishes. Not to mention the seating and decor was quite unique and made it feel like a modern hang out spot. I've been here with friends and family, and I plan on coming back to try the Crab Fried Rice and other curries!
Hands down the best Thai restaurant outside of downtown! The interior and utensils are pretty. Staff are friendly and always happy to introduce to customers what each dish is. Must order a Thai style salad! It's hard to crown the best. I'm torn between the pomelo salad and the one with salted egg. Love how they throw ripe strawberries in!
Amazing authentic Thai restaurant with flavourful dishes, lovely plating, beautiful interior design and great service all around! I didn't catch my server's name but the gentleman with glasses was super attentive and kind. All the dishes were delightful. They also have a non-alcoholic menu. The only downfall is the slippery floors right by the entrance, be very careful. Overall lovely experience, will definitely return to try the items they were out of such as the crispy pork.
I don't really get the hype for this place. It has been mid every time I have gone. Presentation is beautiful and restaurant has a nice ambience but the food isn't much to speak about. Service was nice but food came our very slowly and while the waiter did come to check on our table multiple times it was just to apologize that the kitchen was busy and that the previous waiter forgot to take our order and put it in. Had the Tom yum pot which came out lukewarm with a strangely bitter taste ( much more than it usually should be) and noodles were extremely soggy which I know is normal as they are instant noodles but they were even more overcooked than expected. Papaya salad was delicious but then again it's hard to go wrong with this dish. Fish cakes were 10/10 very delicious, juicy and flavourful. The saving grace of my meal. Pandan ice cream dessert : good due to the coconut ice cream which was surprisingly so coconut flavoured and rich. The Pandan flavour was mid and very light.
Great looking restaurant. Beautiful decor. Amazing server! Always so attentive and someone was always refilling our water. This 5 star review is only for their beef Khao soi which was the only thing our table ordered. I got the spicy version of the dish and it did not disappoint. The beef was super tender, almost creamy. The soup was so well rounded and rich. Eating this was an EXPERIENCE. I would definitely go back and try other items on the menu as I had such a great impression with their one dish. read more

4.5! Soft opening at the moment so they are doing a 10% off. Service was amazing and our server was very attentive and helped to refill our waters numerous times throughout the whole service. When we asked for takeout containers as the portions were pretty big, they were even taken to the back and packed for us (so rare these days). We were a table of 8 and ordered the crispy pork and corn salad to share. The pork was nice and we loved the two sauces but wished there were a few more pieces of lettuce for wrapping. The corn salad was great. We have one friend who is allergic to peanuts and our server made sure to have peanut things on the side and not contaminating dishes. I got the tom yum fried rice with beef (medium spicy level) and there was a generous amount of beef. The flavouring was done well! My partner got a beef pad thai and it ran a bit on the sweeter side. Overall the dishes were pretty good and we would not mind going back again to try their other dishes! Their tom yum soup is on my list! read more
Came here during soft opening and the food was really good. We ordered the chicken wings , moo ping, pad kee mao (chicken) , and khao soi beef and ended off w the mango sticky rice. I enjoyed all of the dishes. The chicken wings were a tiny bit dry but it was good with the sauce. Overall I would come back again. Service was attentive and everyone was nice. read more

Located in Scarborough, this restaurant is close to the heart of Midland and Finch and is in the same plaza as the Asia Food Mart. There's plenty of parking available in the lot and turnover is quite quick since the other properties are restaurants and the grocery store. We went on a weekday for dinner and were seated immediately once we arrived. The inside of the restaurant is modern and quite spacious, especially since the back is a mirror and accentuates the space. The furniture was very new and we were seated at a table with half booth, half chairs. We were given plenty of time to look over the menu, and ordered the pad kee mao with beef, Khao soi, miang crispy pork, and mango sticky rice. The pad kee mao was delicious and the dish itself felt authentic with the thick rice noodles. I did, however, wish they cooked it with less oil because I could see a small pool of oil once we were getting close to finishing the food off the plate. I would definitely recommend the Khao soi - served with crispy egg noodles and thin egg noodles. They gave plenty of protein with the noodles and I was quite content with the portion. I would recommend skipping on the miang crispy pork since the skin felt overcooked. It wasn't as crispy as I would expect... rather it felt too crispy to the point of hard to chew through. We finished off the meal with the mango sticky rice and it's one of the best I've ever had. I would come back to the restaurant just for the dessert. The mango sticky rice came with four scoops of rice (each colour was a different preparation - white is original, red is beets, blue is butterfly pea, and green is pandan), coconut creme and mangos. The mango was perfectly ripe. I would suggest sharing the mango sticky rice with a minimum of four people after having a full meal. The service was alright, and the food took about 20 mins from ordering to the first dish coming out. We had to ask our waitress to refill our waters multiple times with a wait each time. The washrooms are individual stalls right by the hostess stand and generally clean. read more
We finally tried a Thai spot we've driven past at least a dozen times. So glad we did! The stir-fry was bursting with flavor--fragrant spices, perfect textures, and just the right balance. A hidden gem we'll definitely return to! My server was amazing, so friendly and attentive. I must said the decor was beautiful. read more
Went to Susu Siam last week for dinner. We arrived around 7:30pm and did not have any reservations. Waited about half an hour for a table for three. We got the khao soi chicken (they ran out of beef), crab fried rice, fish cakes and Thai milk tea. I thought the food tasted decent but nothing special. Expected more from the crab fried rice... it tasted great with the sauce it came with. But without the sauce, the fried rice was quite bland. Fish cakes and khao soi were regular. Thai milk tea was pretty good - not too sweet. I may come back to try other dishes. read more

Came on a Saturday night and we had to wait 15 min for a table for 3. The music was really loud so it was hard to hear. We order the corn and salted egg yolk salad which was refreshing and delicious. We also ordered the stir fry eggplant and the crab meat with yellow curry. The food was delicious but a bit on the pricey side. read more
I visited Susi Siam on a Sunday evening without a reservation, and they let us in right away. There were plenty of spots and lots of room overall. At first, they seemed very attentive as they even gave us a baby chair without asking, and a sippy cup of water for my niece without us asking as well (the rest of the group received regular cups of water). After this, our server never came back to check up on us. We had to get another server to take down our order, and eventually it took 30+ minutes for our first main to arrive. We noticed that all of the tables around us had gotten their meals, even if they sat down after us. We thought maybe since we ordered dishes that weren't soup related, it would take longer, but that wasn't the case. We asked the waiters several time to check up on our orders and they kept saying the dishes are coming out but we still had to wait. After the first dish came out, we waited another 10-15 minutes for the next. We were practically done the first dish by the time the next came out. The food on the other hand was pretty mediocre. Portion sizes are pretty small in my opinion, and it tasted like all 3 dishes we got (pad thai, pad see ew, pad kra pao) used the same sauce or wok. No big taste difference between the 3. The pad see ew was also extremely salty and tasted heavily of soy or hoisin sauce. The ambiance and setting of this place is overall nice and good for groups, but I won't be coming back. read more

Family friendly and tables were booked up and filled. The food was alright. Food portions were kind of small for what you pay. The seats were comfy and the lighting was dimmer and fancier than a normal Thai restaurant. Not bad but there are better Thai places out there. read more
The ambiance was nice and modern, the venue reminds me of the H3 matrix in the same plaza, large and spacious. I made reservation for a table of 12 by phone and confirmed it but only upon arrival, we were informed the gratuity will be 18% for our large group. I highly think this should be notified upon reservation. The fried whole bass was delicious. I think it tasted good on its own and don't need the sauce. The moo ping (pork skewers) were a hit. A lot of my friends enjoyed it. The fish cakes and the shrimp cakes were okay. Nothing to write home about. My favourite was the crab fried rice, chucks of crab. It was soo delicious! The mama tom yum, I find it lacking in soup, another friend of mine thought this dish was a little over priced. Overall, I will come back for the crab fried rice and the fried sea bass. read more

The food was amazing. Went to Thailand back in Oct/ Nov and instantly wanted to try the: susu pad Thai because it had tamarind sauce and it did not disappoint. So delicious and flavourful, highly recommend. Panang curry, highly recommend getting it with the beef because it is so tender and juicy with this dish. The curry wasn't too thick and salty, just right. Red curry wasn't also really good! I still preferred the Panang. Papaya salad, flavourful and delicious we went with the medium spicy. Can't go wrong with this dish especially if you like papaya salad. Finished it off with Mango sticky rice, mangos were ripe and juicy, the rice was super colourful and tasty with coconut milk. And the Thai milk tea is the best in the area imo, not too creamy and sweet. Just right for my palette. Service was superb. She recommended everything and it was all amazingly delicious. Food came super quick and was seated instantly under no reservation as well, just beat the dinner rush. The restaurants vibe was super chill and nice, was really surprised with how spacious the restaurants vibe was when I walked in. Highly recommend sushi even if it is on the pricier side because the food reminded me of Thailand. read more

I absolutely loved this spot! I'm planning tor return again in a week for a family member's birthday. A friend and I showed up on a Saturday evening around 7pm as walk-in patrons. There were two other groups waiting, and the host took down a phone number and handed us menus to browse while we sat and waited. The wait list conveniently notifies you by text when your table is ready. Now to the food: absolutely loved the pork jowl appetizer for texture and flavour (great with or without the dipping sauce), the Massamana curry was a perfect balance of sweet and fragrant and paired excellently with the beef (choice of protein available), and my favourite was the mango sticky rice given the fresh sweet mango and beautiful presentation. The crab fried rice had a good amount of larger pieces of crab. Throughout the meal, servers checked in to refill water and ask if we wanted anything cleared away or to add items. Service is timely and I saw many families with toddlers there. The music is mostly hip hop so it feels lively and upbeat. read more

Best Thai restaurant I've had in a while. Love the space with tons of seating and ability to place a reservation. Food was delicious and service was good as well. My favorite was the crab fried rice and pork skewers. My husband also enjoyed the dessert toast. read more
