    Shepherd's Pie

We did a work order and I was on the fence about their shepherd pie because it looked different from others I've had. But it was decent.

I've been wanting to come here for a while. The exterior looks pretty cool and their happy hour is pretty good. Step inside and it feels like you're in Britain! They serve a pretty good breakfast and it was busy in the morning with both tourists and locals alike. People were drinking and drinks were flowing at the bar as well as at tables. I liked how there were some older guys eating and reading the newspaper. It felt very traditional. Service was very good and so were their breakfast burritos. They were huge (pricey for $18, but it's 2 meals.) Good meat and cheese and eggs--the whole package. Will be back for more!

Came here for lunch and we got lucky to find seating for three. The staff were very kind when serving and placing our orders it's a pretty small pub with I think four booth and some table tables. There is some outdoor seating. The menu has a wide selection, which is really nice and we started off with an appetizer of wings. These were very good and piping hot when they came to us. I got the Sunnyside burger at medium rare. It was definitely cooked more like rare, which is not how I like it but we were in a rush so I didn't wanna bother waiting to get it redone. I just kinda eat around it. The fries were really yummy. The Reuben was very good. There was no leftovers of it. The fish and chips are also very good and all their food were hot when they were brought out. The portion sizes are very good and the only thing we had left was a piece of fish and one wing Also reasonably priced and we were full even a little bit past dinner. I'll definitely come here good to try other things off their menu. I'll just be more insistent on making the burger, medium rare and not rare.

A cute and quaint English pub! The staff was very friendly and a great chill spot to catch a game with friends. Definitely recommend getting a snakebite or a pint of Guinness. Need to come back to sample their fish of chips!

Great vibe, kind service, incredibly accurate decor and set up with a high ceiling. Felt like I was back in a tiny pub in England that had elevated itself a bit. It was no wait at breakfast. The French fries were incredible beyond belief, the tartar was tart, and the fish was pretty standard. I really just cleared out the tartar sauce with the fries, I was that obsessed with them.

For some reason, I thought Sutter Pub had been around since, like, the Gold Rush or at least before the millennium. I just noticed, however, it's only been twelve years since they opened on the corner of Sutter and Taylor. I guess that's pretty long in SF restaurant years. Anyway, I was walking out of a medical appointment at 450 Sutter. I felt like celebrating since hey, I survived another day. Actually my idea of celebrating at 9:30AM was to go out for breakfast, so why not Sutter Pub since it opens at 8AM daily? The place was nearly empty when I arrived. When I was handed the menu, I zeroed in on the $21 Corned Beef Hash because I rarely have it at my advanced age, and if I do, it usually comes out of a can. But I'm happy to report they serve real corned beef with diced potatoes, scallions, herbs, and chopped onions. Two sunnyside-up eggs with runny yolks were on top accompanied by sourdough toast. I switched out the home fries for the healthier fruit cup (photo: https://yelp.to/2xPBtjtJdA). Nothing fancy except for the fruit sculpture. Delicious stuff, especially the shards of corned beef. Just don't tell my doctor. FOOD - 4 stars...just the right corned beef hash AMBIANCE - 4 stars...compact but cozy pub SERVICE - 3.5 stars...certainly fast enough TOTAL - 4 stars...tasty in the morning RELATED - Exploring Nob Hill? Jalapeno Burger Garlic Fries

Sutter St Pub is one of those neighborhood spots that always hits the mark. This time I had the jalapeño burger and garlic fries, and both were excellent--the burger was juicy with just the right amount of heat, and the garlic fries were crispy, flavorful, and hard to stop eating. I've also been here before and tried the shepherd's pie, which was hearty, comforting, and clearly made with care. I sampled a flight of beers on that visit too, which was a fun way to try a few different options. Solid food, relaxed pub vibe, and a place I'd happily keep coming back to.

Fantastic English pub located in the downtown Union Square area. The interior has fantastic atmosphere and ambience. Lots of beers to choose from, so I had the beer flight to sample a variety of flavors. Delicious fish and chips. Friendly staff.

My seared yellowfin "tuna" was not tuna. I got food poison from eating this. It smelled horrible. About 30 minutes after eating it, I had to inform my doctor.

Walked in here on a random Thursday afternoon for a bite to eat. It's small inside, but we were seated immediately by the window. Service was super quick, staff was very friendly. I wasn't a fan of Soju... had a screwdriver with soju. I wish they had actual liquor here. I def would've sat around longer and ordered a few drinks if they had actual liquor to make mixed drinks with. The nachos were mid, not the best. Only the top layer of chips had toppings, the bottom was all plain. Overall not bad for a beer or quick bite type of person.

Sutter Pub was next door to the Wyndham timeshare hotel we were staying at with friends. They are Padres fans and we are SF Giants fans. We went there for dinner after the game. Our friends have gone before and liked it. We got a seat easy on a Sunday night. The service was quick with beverage and food. The pub is an old fashion SF pub & bar. Dark interior with booths and seats at the bar. Over all decent place to stop for a beverage or meal.

Cozy spot with great food! The bleu cheese burger is delicious; the caramelized onions and mushrooms pair so well with the bleu cheese. The mean patty was pretty thick and cooked as requested. The California chicken sandwich was yummy and I really like the aioli with a side of sweet potato fries. Service is nice and hospitable. If you're craving a burger in Nob Hill, definitely check out Sutter Pub!

The first thing I realized was that this isn't an official Harry Potter establishment - some intellectual property barriers force them to post generic pictures of wizards and people who sort of look like HP characters, a bunch of floating candles and flying dragons on the huge LED ceiling screen, although they do make a reference to the Ministry of Magic in the washrooms. Anyways, the food is the clear star of the show.... Mandrake Flower Pot Hummus Butternut squash, chick peas, paprika with veggie crudite - enough to whet the appetite of four muggles. There's plenty of hummus in a long coffee cup container. Deviled Dragon Eggs Four half-eggs, with different color dyes... a little like a high school project, but not bad either. The yolk is green because they've made it guacamole, with pickled jalapeno (they probably need more), and cilantro. Golden Arancini A play on the golden snitch - cirspy, parmesan dusted rice balls with house tomato sauce. Sorta like mac n cheese balls, except with rice - well crisped on the outer shell... quite yummy! Sorcerer's Salad Little gem, cabbage, mint, cilantro, furikake, avocado, and sesame dressing. Like the Arancini, it's mouthwatering, and a guiltless treat... easy to share and well portioned.. Great Hall Feast Hand cut ribeye, chargrilled broccolini, duchess potatoes. A little reminiscient of those rennaisance fair events, but delicious - they actually prepared it medium rare. Broccolini okay and mashed potatoes meh. Fireside Pot Pie Impressive presentation with the domed baked top, but the inside was more like a chicken chowder - very watery, and difficult to share. Flavors are there, however. Shepherd's Pie Ground beef, pork blend, farm vegetables, whipped potatoes, baked then topeed with crisped curled potatoes and garlic. Mouthwatering! It's served in a wide bowl, so it was a few minutes before we realized what it was. This one was my favorite! We also had the Creme Incendio and Florean's Ice Cream Sandwich - both excellent! This is a definite must stop again - because I need to try the Pretzel Wands and then Kapfoot's Fish and Chips. And finally, oh, what imaginative cocktails.... That's all...

I've been trying different pizza spots all day, and I wouldn't say this was the best one I had, but it definitely wasn't the worst either. It was just a good, solid pizza. Next time I'll ask for no Parmesan, and I think that could easily make it a 5-star experience for me. Service was okay. It seemed like they were mostly set up for dine-in, and since there really wasn't anywhere for us to sit, we felt a little rushed. The lady who helped us was very nice, and the gentleman who handed us the pizza was nice as well. The place has a cool neighborhood feel and looks like they may be doing some construction or improvements right now. I posted a few pictures, and I definitely want to come back one more time, sit down, and give it another try.

The taproom is quite spacious and could accommodate several large groups; however, the night of our visit was relatively quiet, perhaps due to the cold weather. Since there weren't any large tables, our group spread out over three smaller tables. As people came and went throughout the evening, it was convenient that we could each order our own beer and food at the bar. I selected an IPA from Fieldwork, a local favorite, and the beer stayed cold and refreshing throughout the evening. The food menu was limited, but I was craving something warm and salty to pair with my beer. For nearly $10, the fries weren't cheap, but the plate was piled high with some of the best fries I've had in a while. They were served piping-hot alongside two dipping sauces - aioli and ketchup. My friends sitting around me couldn't resist them either, and the mountain of fries disappeared in record time. The servers at the bar were very friendly and checked in on our group often.
