I used South River Auto Service for about seven to eight months as I was working in the Edgewater…read morearea. This auto service is by far the worst experience I've ever had. My last and final visit; I brought my car in because it was having transmission problems. I received a call from Dan (the owner) the following day, and he said "your car needs a transmission, good luck finding one." So being very concerned I said, "what should I do"? He went on to say "well there's something called the internet." Okay, what does that mean? "You're going to want to find a transmission for us to install. I have my best guy out looking for one; he found one in a junkyard, it's $900 and it's a crapshoot." So two weeks of searching and looking for a place with a solid transmission that would be compatible for my car, I did manage to find one and Dan from SRAS said they would be able to do the job. They installed it and when I picked up the car he said "it drives good and shifts good." So I paid just about $2,000 to South River Auto Service and was under the assumption everything was fixed. Approximately four months go by and the transmission that Daniel Eisel and mechanics installed was already destroyed. If SRAS had been honest and said we will not be able to complete this job; I recommend you take your car to a mechanic specializing in transmissions. Especially, after all the money I spent and what I got in return. (i.e. Essex/Glen Burnie transmissions offer a 1-year/ 12,000-mile warranty on rebuilt transmissions and a 3-year/ 100,000-mile warranty on remanufactured transmissions) You will overspend your hard earned money if you take your car to South River Auto Service. Oftentimes, your car will not be fixed properly and you will be left with many issues to come.

Also needed them to fix my gear shifter, they not only didn't do anything for it, they tried saying "all you have to do is screw it back in" like I wasn't paying THEM. $1500 down the drain, never going there again. I when here to get a wheel alignmen. I informed them that my front end parts were all replaced and…read morethat I had the steering wheel set to far left when I adjusted the drag link. so basically I needed them to turn the steering wheel to the proper position and readjust the drag link back in and properly aligned the steering wheel. instead they did an inspection of my truck brak system and told me things that I already knew. told me that a ball joint was to tight and that the drag link was adjusted all the way out. I never knew that a mechanic could not loosen the nut on a ball joint and turn the steering wheel to the proper position and adjust the drag link back in. Brakes have nothing to do with a wheel alignment and balls joints just allow the wheel to pivot right to left. there's know necessary adjustment to a ball joint to do a wheel alignment. I was told what was wrong and never even was offered an estimate for repairs that they decided to chec. was charged for them doing something that I didn't ask them to do and they never preformed the wheel alignment. This shop is like the neighbor local bar that only wants to do business with their friends and neighbors. Not people of other nationalities. I was referred here by amother plac because I have a pick up truck with an 8 foot bed.

Always good work at stated price. Got an alignment done. Now the car drives straight.read more
