This place is a gem! Some of the very best Indian food I've had anywhere. Specify your desired spice level from mild to spicy. There are clearly identified vegan options, and a pastry case of wonderful desserts, almost all of which are vegan!

After listening to my parents in law rave about this local Monrovia spot, I had to check it out. How quickly can I order again! Suvai lived up to the hype and beyond. Serving up one of the widest spectrum's of Indian cuisine that I've seen in awhile, Suvai offers samplings of both North and Indian staples, with ample options for meat eaters and vegetarians like myself, alike. Ordering online was quick and easy, and my order was ready for pick-up without complication roughly 25min later. I wanted to sample a few dishes so ordered the Mysore Masala Dosa and Paneer Chettinadu. There are few places in and around Baltimore City that are dishing out dosas, so this one was a treat! Layered with complex, savory masala spice and melt in your mouth mildly spiced potatoes, the dosa dough was cooked to slightly spongy pancake interior meets wafer crispy exterior perfection. The perfect vehicle for dipping into the various chutneys and sauces that come with the dish. The Paneer Chettinadu was equal parts standout. The sauce was the exact medium spice level that I like, adding a little kick but not taking away from the delicately balanced flavor. The paneer had that ideal slightly chewy but creamy texture. I had more than enough for leftovers between the two! Can't wait to make my way through the menu, Suvai team!

Great local Indian food! They have a large restaurant with tons of room, but I always get takeout. Dubai is obviously known for their biriyanis, and they are the star of the show! If you've never had one, this is the place to try them! I'm a big paneer fan, and their paneer biriyani is amazing and always has generous portions. Sometimes their dishes can be too spicy for me so I always get American level spice. I've ordered takeout a few times and never had any issues with the orders. The people that work there are very nice! Looking forward to my next dish and their amazing paneer!

My husband and I had lunch at this restsurant for the first time. Food was excellent and great service.

Food was delicious. We ordered samosas for app. The dark and green sauce came with them. The darker sauce went great with the samosas. Green sauce was also great with a little kick. I wonder what those sauces are called. We ordered Mutter Paneer and Butter Chicken. Paneer dish, was mild sauce. Great flavor. Butter Chicken was not like the others. It didn't really have the westernized flavor. It was not as sweet as other Indian places. You trastes spices, chicken were grilled and charred. We enjoyed the dishes. Chilly Garlic Naan went well with the dishes. We also ordered mango lassi and it was delicious. Mango and yogurt goes well together. I believe it was the owner who was our waiter. Service was prompt. He did not want any tip after the service. Very nice person. Left 25% tip. Will come back again.

Ordered the chicken Manchurian and chilly chicken. Both looked and tasted pretty much the same except few bell peppers in chilly chicken. It tasted okay but not the authentic chilli chicken I remember eating in India. Butter chicken was okay with few chicken pieces and lot of gravy. The best thing I thought I ate was the garlic naan. It was fresh and soft like it came directly from the oven. Other than that everything was very mediocre. I don't think the amount was enough for the price. Service wasn't that good either.

It's not fancy on the outside, but the food and service were just first rate. We started out with a delicious mango lassi and pretty good chai hot tea, then launched into an apps round of chicken momos and veggie samosas. I was very excited to see they served momos, as we've both been big fans at other Himalayan restaurants for a few years; these were just as good, being light dumplings with a savory filling and served with that deeply flavored yellow chutney sauce. The samosas were better than most we've had, with a lighter envelope and less potatoes in the filling. Included were the sweet dark chutney and the green cilantro-based chutney. We also tried the rosemary garlic naan and the onion kulcha, both fresh, soft and hot. Our mains were the lamb saag and Madras chicken curry, both excellent -- the lamb tender in a creamy thick spinach sauce, and the chicken curry big chunks of white meat in a memorable savory stew. We didn't specify spice levels, and the curry was zippy but perfectly palatable for both of us. This was a lot of food, and we continued to enjoy it as leftovers for the next few days. For all of this, our bill came to only about $75 before tip. The restaurant was quiet when we were there, with one other large table occupied. The service was quick and attentive. The atmosphere is spare but clean. We'll be back!

We both agree that in terms of Indian buffet in the Maryland area, this one is the best that we have tried. I especially love their detail on which dishes are vegetarian, gluten free, or vegan. As someone who was vegetarian for more than a decade, I like it when restaurants take the effort. We definitely will keep coming back. It is a bit far from us and requires us to drive up a bit further, but we find it to be worth it. The staff here are attentive and fast and they go around like clockwork. The hara bhara appetizer was a large portion and came with chana masala. The malai kofta was fresh, tasty, hot, and a good portion for the price. The paneer makhani was also a great dish with a delicious creamy sauce and also hot and fresh. Each came with a bowl of white basmati rice. We asked for spicy and medium spicy but both were fairly UN-spicy. They told me they don't have chicken tikka masala as white meat, which is how it's supposed to be prepared, and it's only available bone-in. All of their chicken dishes are dark meat, which is not the Indian way, but they're likely catering to non-South Asians who prefer thigh or leg. The service was intermittent, and our main server disappeared and never came back after taking our order. They took some time refilling water glasses or even checking in on our needs so some improvement could be had. Restaurant clientele was about 10% South Asian, 90% not. The ambiance was pleasant. Payment system is via Toast. There is patio dining.

Having brought a shoulder bag, I was offered a hook to hang it off my table. They did not offer a separate lunch menu, so I ordered a couple of things and took leftovers. Drowning them in the garlicky soup made for engaging eating, and on a cold day I was glad for a warm soup. This restaurant offers a dish of paneer which is toasted and placed atop of a rich sauce; I've seen versions of this dish at other modern Indian restaurants and while I don't eat a ton of paneer, this one was a winner. They had some vegan options but I could have hoped for more. A paratha was wildly flaky. They asked if I wanted drinks without having shown me a drink menu. I got plenty of food to satisfy myself.

What happened? Previous 5 Star!…read more We discovered this place midway through Covid, or very early 2021z We went with our friends, well they took us, and it became our favorite Indian cuisine in the area. The staff was incredible. Waiter was personable and brought us small free appetizer, or a desert, chai, etc. he even remembered us, and that's saying a lot. We went half a dozen times and always had outstanding food and a great time. The chef would always come out and ask how we liked our food. We'd leave a great tip and genuinely have a great experience with great food. And always getting something new for the app or desert. Every time I go I get the same dish. Chicken Vindaloo. The past two time we have went, the service has been dreadfully slow. First time I thought it was a fluke, and noticed the waiter didn't seem to know what was going on (at all) but our food was still good. No visit from anyone in the kitchen staff or friendly chatting though. Then tonight... what happened here. Is there new management? Was all the main staff out? We got in at 6:45, our friends getting there at 6:30. They asked for a booth and the waiter got flustered so said a table was fine. As we were sitting down with them the waiter came by and we asked for some water. It never came. Well it did some time later. There was a family of 4, 2, and our party of 4. Right after us was a party of 2, and 6. At 7:00 we got our water. At 7:15 we placed our order. Around 7:20 the party of 2 walked out. During this time food was trickling to the two tables ahead of us. We got the impression that the only waiter, had never waited before, had a mild language barrier, didn't know the menu, now how to use the desk computer. He came to our table twice to ask about what drinks we ordered. At around 7:40 we got our cocktails, and was one short. Glass of wine, Long Island, and a mojito. Missed the mojito, but they brought it to us as well as the second Long Island we asked for. Not sure if we got a mojito or margarita but it was fine. Long islands were in very small cups. Nothing had ice, not even the water. We received our Spinach Chaat and another app at 7:50 if I were to guess. In the past the Chaat has been incredible. Google crunchy spinach chaat and that's pretty much what we got. Tonight it was in a bowl, and completely different. It was more of a salad, with what I would describe as an Asian Rick cracker type noodle in it. It was good. But 110% different. Not what we expected. To me it didn't feel authentic and like it was premade. I'm thinking those crackers that you get from Chinese restaurants with your meal in those bags. The greasy ones. Our meals came at around 8 and again, different. Wow it's been over an hour! Our bread was moist but good. Didn't mop up any sauce though since it was so buttery. The rice, which we normally would get 1-2 large bowls for the table, we each got a small bowl, maybe 1 cup of rice if that. The rice was watery and didn't have the herbal flavor we were use to. I want to say there use to be peas in the rice. Tonight it was just rice. Mine had some clumps of rice in it, like you get from rice that's been in the fridge, had water added and then re-zapped. My vindaloo, which I was accustomed to being a lovely deep red in color, large chunks of chicken, and potatoes, was a curry orange in color. A Chick-fil-A spicy nugget had more spice. No potatoes and I counted 8 pieces of chicken. I didn't say anything as our server was so dreadfully slow. Nothing against the guy, he was very polite, apologized every time he came to the table (don't do this my friend, once is enough), but we didn't want to get stuck their longer. My wife said there was no spice In hers either. We got our to go boxes, which were the styrofoam boxes with 3 sections in it. Before they had those tin containers with plastic lids. I loaded my few spoons of rice and my Vindaloo curry contraption into the container, 99% sure it would spill in the car but my wife somehow kept it together, knowing I'd have to make some rice in the instapot for the leftovers, since they didn't give us any extra rice.... They use to just give you a full container or rice to go. We ended up leaving at 8:45. Remember we got there at 6:45. We each had one drink. And 2 refills of water. The spinach chaat had pre-made noodles(?) in it, with a salad of the rest on top. Our meals were lacking spice, and ingredients. The rice was bland and reheated. I love rice. I could live off it. This was not good rice. And it took 2 hours to have a meal that should have taken an hour. I'm not sure if this place is under new management, or what has happened. But this has happened twice now, so I'm not sure we will be going back until we hear things improve. And I hate to say that since it's 15min away from our house, and the experience gave it more then five stars before.

I'm unsure about the vibes at the actual restaurant, but I'm sincerely doubting it's a sit down establishment based on other reviews and knowing the small strip mall set up where it's located.
