The fried chicken and pizza have a very strong presentation, but to me, the star of the show is the subs. I'm a big fan of Steak and Cheese subs and the one from Green Valley cannot be beaten. Green Valley has mastered the Steak and Cheese. Add a side of the best onion rings around......I have never been disappointed. This last trip I discovered getting the fries done extra crisp, puts them as contenders for a Best of Frederick. The subs get my vote every year. Awesome job guys! read more

Really good pizza. Orders are always quickly prepared and the people are friendly and helpful. The only thing I wish is that they would get their online ordering system working. They have one, but for years the ability to order through it had been turned off. We would order from here much more often if I could place the order online. If "meh" were a restaurant. We live a couple miles from here. The delivery service is spotty at best and the food is average at best. It's only okay. The other day I ordered a 2 piece Fried Chicken meal which comes with cole slaw and mashed potatoes and gravy. Kid on the phone informs me that they're out of cole slaw. I ask him if they can substitute for it by giving me extra mashed potatoes. He restated that they were out of cole slaw. I asked again if I could get extra mashed potatoes. He once again stated that they were out of cole slaw. I told him I would just take the mashed potatoes and forget about the cole slaw. I get my order home and I have two pieces of fried chicken, no cole slaw (which was expected) and no mashed potatoes. It's a typical little small town mom and pop carryout. It's no frills. Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed. I guess I was wrong for expecting to get what I paid for. read more

This place is amazing! There is not too much around this immediate area and I have to give a big shout out to GVC! They have the best subs, sandwiches, salads, fried chicken and coleslaw! Let's not forget their beach fries that gives the boardwalk a run for their money! Also the people that work there remember their regulars and it feels good to support a small family owned spot! It's a good thing this place is adjacent to another sandwich shop. I went in for an early lunch (10:50) and was told I couldn't get the special until 11. I could order and pay the regular price but that extra 10 minutes somehow made a difference. I've eaten here before. A bit greasy and uninspired. I was jonesing for some fries but oh well. The place was also dirtier that last time. What a disappointment. Go over to the other carry out place in the shopping center. I did and I'm glad for it. read more

I called to order a 4 piece chicken dinner and asked to substitute fries for potato wedges. I was told on the phone that it was okay. When I showed to pick up my order, I was being charged for the potato wedges . I told them that I was told on the phone that the substitution was okay. They said the manager said they couldn't do that. Only suggestion he came up with was to charge me for the four piece chicken dinner minus the potato wedges. No offer to give me the meal with French fries! I left the chicken and came home. Too bad, I have had many meals of theirs. read more

Carried out from here for the first time today. I didn't pick up the food but I ordered it. They seem very friendly. The steak and cheese wasn't ginormous which I like and it was delicious. Cheese balls and curly fries were yummy too. Hubby's salad was HUGE and was good which is surprising for a take out place. They did forget the dressing which kinda stunk but oh well. Everything seemed very fresh. Four stars and not five just because I didn't go to the place but I'm sure after our next visit I'll be able to upgrade my rating. read more

BEST. FRIED. CHICKEN. Even better when you get the really good delivery driver. Younger guy, tall getting ready to head off to college apparently-but he made sure we had extra fries and extra honey mustard. The chicken is cooked in a pressure fryer so it's really juicy and the skin is still crisp and really flavorful. The meat falls off the bone. The fries are bigger than fast food fries, but way smaller than steak fries. Very close to the famous "boardwalk fries" they sell at the beach in Maryland. The honey mustard is really creamy without too much tang and not too sweet. A perfect compliment to the chicken and fries. I also get the strips occasionally which are every bit as good as the regular chicken. Subs are really generous and the "big" salads are really big, easily enough for two people. I've been going to GVCO most of my life and they've always delivered quality food. Being one who doesn't change too much once I find something I like, I typically always go with the steak and cheese sub. Its not the largest sub, but it sure is delicious every time. Also, their fries are killer. The same if not better than thrashers in oc. Plus they've got malt vinegar and old bay to top them off just as any Maryland area restaurant should. Go in there during lunch time and you'll get a meal for $5 or $6. Hard to beat. read more
