I requested TE to come out and diagnose why an existing circuit was not getting power. Instead of…read morejust fixing the circuit, I agreed to a new panel for my house since it was 60 years old. The price I was quoted was over 12k. I felt the electrician on my job, Jason S. was very high pressure in his tactics and told me I needed to decide that day, or lose potential discounts. I had also been without a kitchen for over 30 days, so I agreed to the work. The next day Jason and an apprentice come out to start the job. They take one whole day to remove and replace the new panel, no problem. Here is where it goes downhill. On the second day of work, Jason and another apprentice came out and instead of prioritizing the circuit I hired him for, they start installing the hardwired smoke detectors Dekalb county allegedly requires. This took all day! By about 4 pm, I asked if he was going to get the outlet done so I could use my dishwasher and he replied "I guess if I stay here all night". I said I guess thats what you got to do then, and they were here til nearly 8 pm. Then he made several other unprofessional comments about staying late. Jason never came back to my job. A new Electrician came out on Monday, Jason said he had an emergency job. The part where they earned this rating comes when I found out my pool motor circuit was not working on the new GFCI circuit. I explained to them it originally was on a two pole circuit and now they had it on two single poles. It was drawing 240v and they had the model number and should have researched the wiring on their own as professionals. Rather than listen to me, I had to wait all day for the new electrician (with Jason on the phone) come up with a new quote to fix which included trenching up and re-wiring my entire pool, ANOTHER 5 THOUSAND DOLLARS! I was livid. I started looking into this and it turns out I was right, it just needed a 2 pole GFCI. I talked to the second electrician the next day and told him I want to talk to a supervisor or manager. I got a call later in the day from Jeffrey who was going to look into it and get back to me the same day. He did not. He did call me the next morning and agreed to send one of his best guys out to install a 2 pole and see if that solves the problem. Well guess what, it did! And, I didn't have to pay another 5K. I expected to hear back from Jeffrey again to ensure the job was to my satisfaction as you should on a service recovery. I did not. I feel lied to, and that I was robbed and almost taken needlessly for thousands more, had I not done my research which should not be necessary as a layperson. I understand from TE employees the Electricians control the cost, and they get a commission from it. Unfortunately, I paid for an electricians summer vacation because I trusted him. Luis L and Nathan the electricians at TE, thank you! Micah, Gavin, Phillip the apprentices, thank you too! Jeffrey I thank you for doing the minimum by ensuring what I paid for was completed. Jason, no thank you at all. You've sowed distrust in professionals and your industry with your practices.

Absolutely and highly recommend Dan. Skip those random "certified contractors" books that come in…read morethe mail and trust the reviews here. I have a mini split that another company (who also installed it) has come out 3 times over the past year to try and fix (and failed at). Looking for someone else out of frustration, I called around to the places with tons of Yelp reviews, but all I found was sales tactics trying to either get me on a maintenance plan or to buy an entire new system (right...when this one is only 2 years old??). Thankfully this is where Dan comes in. I called him this morning around 9am to see if this is something he could work on and for how much. He was at another job but he said he had a few minutes to talk with me. He took 10 minutes out of his busy day to listen to my story, the symptoms, ask some questions, and then give his opinion on what work should be done (none of which the other company has done btw) and what his entire repair process would look like. After taking all of this time to share his expertise and do an over the phone diagnosis, he then says "unfortunately I don't work on mini splits." Dan helped me over the phone to come up with a game plan knowing from the beginning that he wouldn't make a single cent off of the time he spent, and then referred me to another company that he believes does good work. Actions speak, and today Dan's showed nothing but honesty, integrity, and generosity. I don't know what else you could ask for out of a contractor, or what else you could look for when trying to find someone to trust.

That stuck with me--and it still does. Fast forward several years later, and I'm still just as satisfied. They've handled both my HVAC and plumbing needs, and the quality and professionalism have been consistent every time. What I love most is knowing this is a family-run business that truly cares. I can't even explain how much joy it brings me when I see a PV van driving down the street. It's a reminder that great service still exists. Highly recommend!

I am truly at a loss over these great reviews. I am giving PV 2 stars for the knowledge and…read moreability of their plumber/technician. Its been a few months and I forget his name, but he was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and quick. But my experience with pricing and management leaves a lot to be desired. So, we have a leak and called PV since they do a basic inspection for free with more intensive diagnostic work costing more. Thankfully, the leak was found with just a visual observation. The plumber told us they could replace our pipe down to the meter for a LOT of money, and it would take all day, or he could just repair the leak for about $1400, but we would get a discount if we signed up for a year long plan that I am not even sure what we got for it. That cost us $70+ dollars but saved us over $140, so it was a net win. My problem begins with the $1400 bill. I absolutely approved the estimate, but the plumber completed the work in under an hour. So I called and complained about such a high bill for an hours worth of work, and spoke to 2 different executives with the company. Both essentially told me the same story: 1 - you pay a professional a premium for their expertise. Like when you go repair your car. Stupid excuse. When I go repair my car, I am given exact pricing for the parts and labor and I have never paid $1400/hour for car labor. 2 - They have a minimum of 2 hours labor payment. Okay, so I am paying $700/hour for plumbing? When i explained that even most attorneys don't charge that, they asked what that has to do with it? I don't know, the same thing as your stupid car repair example? 3 - He was actually at the house for 2 hours. No, he was not, but even if he was, your diagnostic and inspection is free, so don't give me that BS. 4 - They have to pay a premium for quality plumbers and technicians, and van upkeep, etc. Sorry, even though I get that, you're still charging me $700/hour. 5 - I was asked what i thought would be fair. I do not know, but you cannot tell me that is a reasonable hourly rate for this expertise. Maybe $300 or $400 and hour? Isn't that really damn good? 6 - the tech did a great a great job, even going "above and beyond" by installing a pipe sleeve or something like that. Sure, true, he was great, but even the tech told us that the "sleeve" or cover or whatever should have been a standard installation by the person who originally did the pipes. That's not above and beyond, that's standard practice. In the end, they offered me a 10% rebate, but cmon, i still page $630/hour then! This was highway robbery. Again, I fully admit i accepted the estimate, but no one told me it would be a simple 30-45 minute job. This company does good work, but not only will you pay a premium, they will rob you blind. Go with a mom/pop shop or someone local. Not these thieves.
