I really liked how you could still taste some of the char from some of the ingredients being flash cooked in a wok before being added to the soup. I have to say this might have been my favorite experience of eating jjampbong, and I've had some really good ones in Los Angeles. I came back the following day for lunch again. This time I ordered the baby clam thin noodle soup. Another hit! The flavor of the soup base was spot on, and the clams were already taken out of the shell, which made it more convenient to eat. I would definitely order both again if I visit Iowa City again. The food and service were excellent. The owner checked up on me to make sure everything was good.
