We were eyeing this place for a while and let me tell you Mezzo it is not. The arrangement and quality is par for a construction site food cart, not a top location in Sausalito. We had andouillette frites and ratatouille sandwich. It was very simple and not in a good way. For the former picture a sausage at the top of the plate and simple fries tossed around the remaining space. For the latter a sandwich and 4 wilted lettuce leafs topped with a tablespoon of vinaigrette (they had audacity to call it a salad!). Come on guys, you have an opportunity to charge top dollar, don't skim on food and service. read more

I'll be kind enough to not say why the waiters were so distracted today despite the photo I have of it-- but I will add that one of them was actively rude to my mother during ordering. He threw the menu hard onto the others when she double checked that he had written down her dessert. He was upset and in a tantrum-like voice, he whined that my mom had said she did not want that dessert. This was not the case. Me, my mother, and grandmother were shocked. We wished to leave but were too scared and shocked to go. The waiter was obviously in a rush to visit the distraction or may constantly have his ups and downs. The burger was delicious though! And the waiter may have noticed the photo I took-- but eventually he did try to lighten the mood and joke with my mother about her choice to eat fries with her dessert side by side. Everything . Because 90 percent of customers are from the Ferry they are not bothered about quality.About as French as Idaho. Slow indifferent service, stale salad, ridiculous prices a total rip off. Though they've only been open a short time, Suzette is already running like a well-oiled machine. The servers were extremely friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is charming as can be. It's especially welcome in a strip of generic restaurants in that part of Sausalito, as the food is unique and thoughtfully composed. The goat cheese salad has great flavor--I give it a minor ding for being a bit heavy handed with the dressing and needing a higher ratio of goat cheese to greens. The setting and the decor are beautiful! And that is where the goodness ended for me. Nobody was particularly interested in waiting on me, I had the Croque Madame and it was very disappointing. The bread was soaked in a bland pasty bechamel sauce. The cheese had no flavor and the tiny piece of ham added no redeeming taste to make up for the bland mush that surrounded it. My mother in law recommended this place to me after her first trip to SF so I had to check it out. I came here for their Valentine's Day dinner and tried their special menu. They are a smaller, cozier restaurant that also offers outdoor seating with a view of the city. Their Valentine's Day menu was absolutely fantastic. We came for a brunch a couple months later and had the same waiter, who remembered us. Their breakfast sandwich, and truly everything else, are amazing. The restaurant is such a cute place right by the water. I walked in and was intrigued by the place. However the service takes forever. It took us forever to get a servers attention but once we were seated they were able to take our orders and helped us through the menu. Steak Tartare - 4/5 -it was well seasoned and had such flavor. It was very smooth and the bread was well made for the tartare. However, there was no pepper or really a kick to the tartare. Escargot - 4/5 - It was very flavorful and well prepared. My main complaint was that it was very oily. Also when they asked us if we wanted bread, we said yes. We thought it was a side for the escargot but they charged us for the bread. We would've never asked for it if we knew we had to pay. Moules Mariniers- 4/5 - this meal was very generous in terms of the amount of muscles. The muscles were well prepared and well seasoned. However it felt like it was missing something. It was just muscles. I wished it had something along with it like pasta or potatoes. French Onion Burger - 2/5 - I really thought i would enjoy the burger but i was wrong. The burger was so hard to grab as soon as i tried to bite it. The bread was so soggy to the point where it felt mush. The meat also wasn't well seasoned and felt so bland. The best part of the dish was probably the fries that came with it Overall this restaurant is very nice and it's a beautiful view. Instead of cleaning tables and sitting guests waiting first, he had an audacity to ask somebody else to move from their table They were eating at so he can accommodate the party of 7 while we are waiting at the table of two. C'était incroyable ! What a beautiful new addition to Sausalito. My husband and I came in for dinner and sat at the bar. We had a lovely time with the bartender, Didier. He was very friendly and welcoming and recommended the best wine and appetizers for us to have. We had the paté to start and it was delicious. Very authentic to true French cuisine. We found out that the chef (Olivier) was also the owner of the restaurant and he came out to greet us which was very nice of him. It was a lovely experience and we will definitely be coming back. Just stopped by Suzette for our 2nd year anniversary to enjoy the gorgeous day and sit and relax and see the view. We came to celebrate and have good food and wine. But what through us off from the moment we walked in was the rude ass waiter that obviously hates his customers. Let me tell you... we came for some escargot and he told us that is on the dinner menu which starts at 4pm that's fine since we came around 3:20 pm. But what was not okah was his attitude towards us. No smile just the rude answers and just making us feel so uncomfortable. We seriously wanted to leave and jump next door to the pizza place. My significant other even at one point walked out to check the other restaurants. Cuz that's how nice he is and wanted us to enjoy our time. But I will say go for the view and spritz but that's all!! Almost perfect! The food, Duck Confit, and Steak Frites were amazing! Probably one of the best steaks I've had in quite some time! And Marilyn had the Duck Confitte. The steak was cooked perfectly (I must thank the young woman who was our server for suggesting its "doneness"! Marilyn said the Duck was falling off the bone, as it should! And the salad and it's dressing were also perfect! And the prices, based on prices at other Marin restaurants, were quite reasonable. Now, the negatives: 1. The lower "bar" seating was off to the side and didn't provide the same experience as one would get sitting at the upper bar seating. One issue - in front of the lowered bar counter was a wall - not meeting either State access code requirements or federal ADA Standards. The accessible bathroom had an entry door that an ambulatory adult would have difficulty opening due to the force required to open the door. The door is required to be 5lbf. That door is more like 25-30lbf! Then, inside the bathroom there's a mirror that work fine if you are ambulatory and standing. Sitting in a wheelchair, nothing, and one more violation of the California Building Code, Title 24 requirements and the ADA Standards. So, we both really enjoyed ourselves (Marilyn would have preferred a seating arrangement where she could be sitting, and without having to turn around, watch the boats and beautiful San Francisco Bay. Next time. And there definitely be a next time, because as with the food, our server and the other person serving customers, service was first class and with a smile! What a gem of a French bistro. The place was packed and the staff moved tables to accommodate my party of 6. My husband hasn't had French breakfast, and doesn't eat breakfast anyway, but was there for us. He ordered Benedict and kept remarking it was so good, he needed to learn how to make it himself. Like every single thing on the menu is fabulous, and the interior is also very cute (especially the light fixtures). I have found the service considerate and accommodating. Those who have criticized the service here should probably not eat at any French restaurant. It is, after all, French. Also, this is not an appropriate environment for someone with an infant. It's a small place and and children are noisy and disruptive. The last time we were there, a couple had brought an infant. Don't criticize the place for not being good for infants.
