I've always thought falafel wasn't for me. I've eaten dense, dry, and occasionally stale falafel in my time. (It's basically the equivalent of eating reheated French fries.) But trying a falafel sandwich at Troya, I realized how rare it is to eat a freshly made one. I ate at the restaurant and the falafel here came out crisp, piping hot, and clearly just-made, with ground chickpeas visible on the inside, placed on a bed of mixed lettuce, sliced cucumber, sliced radish, spicy hummus, good tzatziki and with a pita holding it all together (even if I wish they made the pita in house. See my review for Fava in Berkeley.) It's a good sandwich. The cafe is cheerful, with warm yellows, oranges, a light green tiled bar, and light wood that make it feel bright and airy. Service was friendly. There's a cost of living fee added to the bill, but lunch still came in under $20. The desserts and Turkish delight are imported, not house made, but they have a pretty good selection, and it's the only Turkish delight I've seen in Marin. A good local lunch eaten in a nice setting. They even managed to upgrade my opinion of falafel. read more

Today I had lunch at Troya with my friend. I loved it, and so did my friend. I had the chicken salad, which I thought was excellent. The chicken was grilled and seasoned, with lettuce, avocado, cherry tomatoes, cheese, and more. My friend had the lentil soup and an appetizer; I'm not sure of the name. The service friendly and gracious. I had been to Troya once before. I had the grilled lamb burger, cooked perfectly. I will return more often, as I can get the salad as a takeout item after work. I was floored. It's been awhile since I've been to a restaurant where I enjoyed every single dish I tasted. When we arrived around 7:45pm, we were promptly seated without a reservation on a Saturday night. I imagine the more press this spot gets there will be longer wait times over the weekends. Opened since May 2025, Troya was an unexpected delight in my food journey through Marin. Ever since my husband started working in the area, we've tried many restaurants but none have impressed me as much as this Turkish gem. After being seated, our waiter took our order and even made a few recommendations. Service was overall friendly and attentive. I was curious about how they prepared the lamb as it's a meat option that I've had trouble enjoying because of how it's prepared. Aside from the gorgeous light-filled interior, I was ready to try what they had to offer. This is what we ordered alongside my glass of French rose: Foods: -Hummus with pita -Red Lentil Soup with paprika oil -Braised Lamb Shank (out of shank, subbed in with shoulder) -Turkish dumplings -Baklava with vanilla ice cream A few words about each item. The hummus was this earthy, nutty flavor with a smooth texture. We dipped our warm triangles of pita into it and pretty much cleaned the plate. The red lentil soup was delicious! It was perfect for a cool, fall evening. My husband loved the dumplings but I think it was unfairly overshadowed by the lamb shoulder (the piece de resistance). It was tender, meat fibers pulled apart with the slight pressure of my fork. I loved that it sat on a bed of Sultan's rice with almonds, raisins, tzatziki. This was by far my favorite dish of the night. I would highly recommend! And as if things could not go any better, we ended on a high note with the flakiest baklava I've had. Troya is the best new restaurant in Marin! We had lunch there today and it was just wonderful. I've been to the Fillmore Street location before, but this new spot in the Cove Shopping Center is a standout. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the service feels warm and welcoming. It's such a treat to have a place in Marin that's not only memorable but also truly delicious. Everything from the presentation to the flavors was impressive. We ordered the eggplant avocado toast and the Istanbul breakfast--both were beautifully plated and full of flavor. We finished with Turkish coffee and house-made baklava, which was the perfect ending. I really hope Troyo thrives here. It's exactly the kind of spot Marin needs. read more

Troya is a superb addition to the Cove, its handsome interior, attentive service and thoughtful cuisine belying its strip mall setting. The dining experience feels removed from the adjacent parking lot and transports you with a sun-drenched Mediterranean energy. The food itself is very strong, though I have a few nits. Firstly, the menu online is not the same one they offer in the restaurant. While this difference isn't the end of the world, the research and anticipation of a meal is part of the pleasure I glean from eating out, so it is disappointing when certain items are not actually offered. Attention to detail is an important trait for a restauranteur and the online presence should be an accurate reflection. Ironically, the dish I ordered was not listed online, so in practice, I'm happy about the difference, albeit not in theory. Secondly, they were out of several dishes, including the cauliflower which I was most excited about. It's understandable that certain ingredients may get used up, but the shortage of multiple dishes (namely vegetables, not unique seafood) demonstrates inadequate planning. Lastly, my beet salad (the unlisted one!) was very satisfying, but could stand to use more of the hero ingredients, namely the beets and the Ezine feta cheese. The supporting cast was solid (fennel and cucumbers) but needed to take more of a backseat role. The salad prep should adhere to the principle of "all killer, filler." Aside from those minor grievances, I enjoyed the experience and look forward to returning (though awareness of what I can expect would be a major plus). read more

Comfortable seating with adequate space in a very crowded restaurant. Not sure how a restaurant should handle a table of 4 making loud noise as they watched the Soccer match on their laptop. Sounds I expect in a sports bar. The rest of the experience was 5Star. Delicious and large servings of humus and pita, lentil soup, baby lamb chops, and a beet salad topped with salmon. Medium lamb chop juicy. This as good as it gets. The servers were very generous and attentive. The Manager and I had a nice chat before leaving permitting me to shout out appreciation to those in the kitchen. Can't wait to return. read more

Came here for dinner on a weekend without a reservation and they were fully booked out! They do have outdoor or bar seating without a reservation. We decided to take the outdoor seating. It was a bit cold but not terrible. We ordered: 1. Lamb Hummus: Lamb was great and not too gamey. Super flavorful and the hummus was creamy. 2. Hanger Steak Skewer: the steak was super good and flavorful. It did have some burnt charred areas however which my wife didn't like but you can scrape it off. The eggplant under was also really good and flavorful. 3. Half Rotisserie Chicken: Really juicy and not dry at all. I always worry about chicken as it can be cooked well or terrible and this place did a great job. It was juicy and flavorful. The skin was crispy. The pilaf under it was also delicious and I liked the sweetness of it with the raisins. Overall, great restaurant for solid authentic Mediterranean food. They do charge extra for pita bread which I felt was a little cheap. They give you 2 pieces for an order of hummus which isn't really enough and charge you like $1 for an extra which is a bit much for store bough pita bread. Everything was on point and delicious and seemed authentic. Assyrtiko blend and arneis by the glass were great as well. Jeff was our server and he was very engaging and knew the menu well. This is an adorable restaurant wonderfully decorated inside. Very calming and soothing. The staff is just wonderful. However, we went recently, and our food was just poorly cooked. My friend ordered a medium steak and it came out quite raw. I ordered a lamb shank, and it was absolutely grizzly. It needed a lot more time in the pot. One of the best restaurants! First of all, they have very kind and friendly staff. We came as a group of 6 without reservations, and, although they were very packed, they offered to seat us outside. It was a chilly evening so they brought out blankets for all of us. They made sure to never leave us without their attention. The food was sooo good! I was a bit hesitant about trying Troya since I have a tree nut allergy, but so many of my friends were recommending it so I figured I've give it a try. (I'm familiar enough with the cuisine to know what to avoid.) We arrived hungry and as a result went a bit overboard on the starters. Not that that is a bad thing. Their starters are great. We had the red lentil soup, borek, falafel, and hummus, tzatziki, and muhammara combo. We especially liked the falafel and the tzatziki. The falafel was served hot and they were properly crispy on the outside. The tzatzik was some of the best I've ever had. It had a bit more brightness than many other versions. The borek was a bit disappointing - more pastry than filling. The nice part about having so many starters was that we had plenty of our entrees (chicken and hanger steak) left over for lunch the next day. My partner said the chicken was excellent and a bargain for half a chicken. My steak was very tender and flavorful. The waitstaff was very friendly and helpful. Everyone we interacted with made us feel welcome. The restaurant is located in a shopping center, but they have done their best at placing the tables so you are facing your dinner companions instead of the parking lot. The place is bright and airy and the seating is comfortable. Very long-term Tiburon residents will remember for many years there was a Greek restaurant in the Cove Shopping Center. Hopefully Troya will be as successful. Marin could definitely do with variety. It wasn't very warm the day we visited, but with an open kitchen and no air conditioning the restaurant was uncomfortably warm. Hopefully this is something they are working on. read more

Always a favorite, Troya had a new delicious addition to their fare. They have added a new "homemade" pita! It is the best pita and despite our embarrassment, we kept ordering another plate and another plate. This is, by far, my favorite item. I had it with the mushroom and hummus and it was the best. We learned this was a new addition as the restaurant determines its popularity. FIVE STARS! My partner loved the lamb shank and also kept reaching for these wonderful soft bread triangles. Great lunch spot with delicious Mediterranean food with a Turkish twist. We had the pita lamb and falafel salad. Both were fresh ingredients and plentiful. The salad had many different veggies, a tasty dressing and flavorful falafels. The food presentation was very impressive and prompted questions about other dishes we saw like the lamb burger and avocado toast. We capped it off with the baklava and ice cream. The waiter suggested the ice cream be placed between center of the baklava which made all the difference. The staff was friendly, informative, and conscientious. We finally tried this place and it did not disappoint! We were greeted with smiles and a warm welcome. From the manager to the waiter to the bus servers, everyone had a smile and was attentive.
