Not to thrilled with this place. When I entered I was made to feel like I don't belong. But, I let that go and got past it because I believe in supporting local small mom and pop spots. But, the day came when I placed a macaroon order. They blamed me for it going wrong as I added to the order later, and at the same point tried to over charge us for that mistake. I usually do not give one star but unfortunately Suzettes has earned it. I have been to Suzette's before and had very little to complain about, but it seems things have changed since the renovation. We did not have reservations, the restaurant was empty and they still were annoyed that we were walk-ins. The service was poor. The staff should have offered to take our coats yet they didn't. They did so for other tables. Our server was rather short with us and we got bare minimum service.Never before have I heard a server suggest a dish because it would be good for their tip, even as a joke it's tacky! The food was disappointing and not worth the price. It was a very unpleasant evening and I should have spent it elsewhere. I hope things improve at Suzette's. read more

Went to Suzette's Creperie last Saturday, September 30th and I will say that the food for the High Tea was very good. However, the attitude of the Hostess, Denise, on duty was that of a 'Gestapo'. When we were brought to the 'table that was set up for us', I told her that the chairs were too large & looked uncomfortable, and asked for seating on the Patio. Diane's response & tone came across as one, scolding a poorly behaved child! She told me that we should have made that request with our reservation, to which I responded, since this was my first visit to Suzette's, I wasn't even aware of the Patio, and was not informed of that choice when I made the reservation. When we settled in at our table on the Patio and saw the menu, my guest and I requested the "French Tea", and were told by our server that we were 'set up' for the English Tea. Again, I said, I was not told there was a choice of 'Teas' when I made the reservation. She said we could not get the "French Tea", which made no sense since there were quiches sitting in the showcase AND we did choose 'Crepe Suzette' for dessert (not a problem to make them for dessert), but we were refused the 'The French Tea', which include these options for the 1st course. It is unfortunate that even though the food was quite good, I will never return to Suzette's Creperie due to the way we treated! It is obvious that Suzette needs to retrain her staff on the proper, correct and courteous way to take care of patrons. read more

The service is polite but very slow. I ordered the steak and eggs, with the flat iron steak. The scrambled eggs had no texture and were tasteless. The steak had gristle in it and needed added salt in order to have any flavor. The best parts of the meal were the green salad with delightful dressing and the pastries which were delicious. I've been meaning to try this place since we moved to Wheaton over a year ago. After today's visit, I am disappointed to say that I waited this long. It's a cute little space; nice and quaint feeling. My mom and I went for breakfast and had the Suzette's Benedict and the Spinach Crepe; both of which have a 20 minute wait time due to having to make the soufflé but TOTALLY worth it. The portions are filling and the flavors are delicious. I can't wait to come back to try everything else on the menu but will be torn on whether or not to get the exact same thing. read more

Went for lunch for the first time. The atmosphere is quaint - felt like a grown version of tea time. The vegetable chowder soup was delish and my favorite part of the meal, though the Chicken Crepe was also good - kind of reminded me of a simpler version of a pot pie without the veggies. Their mocha hazelnut dessert is out of this world. The only downside is that they take forever so don't go there for a quick bite. read more

I took my daughter's mother-in-law from Las Vegas and our 11 year old grandson and my 16 year old grandson for the English high tea. She and I have had high tea in many locations in the US. The boys had no experience. They were just our dates. The cost of high tea is always high. Silly but it just is no mater where you go. In comparison to what you might pay in downtown Chicago this is very reasonable and the quality was exceptional and the amount of food and variety amazing! I'd choose this over going to any of the 5 star locations downtown. We went during the week so they weren't busy only 3 tables of groups. But only one waiter. He was a good waiter but pace was slow. That was fine we were here to relax and enjoy. The decor was charming. It was a nice day and we had a table by the beautiful wooden glass French doors in the front. They opened them up a little so it was very comfortable. Like sitting in a beautiful street cafe'. I worried the 11 year old grand son would be bored, but he got into the experience of how to do the tea pot & poring the tea and the variety of sandwiches. Although I think the desserts of course were his favorites. I have never had such wonderful options and varieties at any high tea. Food was great sounding, mediocre tasting. Service was pleasant but unprofessional. Price was absolutely absurd. My crepe was rubbery and cold. The cheese souffle is nice, but lemonade at $3.25 without refills certainly leaves a foul aftertaste. Not worth it until they lower the costs and improve the core products. read more

Wonderful French bistro. We went on the recommendation of a friend and we were delighted with the results. We went with the specials for soup (cream of mushroom) and the lamb shank. The bartender/sommelier made excellent recommendations as did our server. The lemon curd/raspberry dessert crepe was outstanding. All in all an excellent evening. read more

Wonderful Afternoon tea! I came here a couple months ago for afternoon tea. I was skeptical about having afternoon tea at a French restaurant but it turned out great! I walked into the restaurant and the first thing i see is a Patisserie with glass cases of wonderfully but sinfully delicious baked goods and desserts! I told the lady behind the counter i had reservations for tea, i was politely told to wait a minute while she took care of a customer buying baked goods, while she was doing that someone did seat me right away. I was seated at a cute round table with a comfortable arm chair. The waitress brought me water and the tea menu. I chose the Jasmine Orangie! All i can say is Amazing! Then after she brought me a cup of mushroom bisque, it was tasty, and 5 different tea sandwiches, egg salad, cucumber, shrimp and chicken salad. They were good but when i was finished she asked if i wanted more so she brought a second helping of those sandwiches. Yum! I was feeling a little full but i had to make room for the scones which came with Devonshire cream, lemon curd and jam. Yum! By this time i was full and could barely eat dessert. She brought the dessert menu, I chose the orange creme brulee! Yum again! The hot water for tea was refilled, food was good, service was good. Definitely will be back! Oh and of course before i left i bought a few baked goods to take home! I couldn't help it! They had crepes, chocolate croissants, macarons and more! :-) read more

We celebrated Mother's Day over brunch at Suzette's. The food was excellent and we will be back but not for brunch. It was so expensive! $50 per person including persons over 5, so our 7 year old daughter who ate only fruit and ham...$50. She ordered scrambled eggs from the kitchen but they were runny. Mimosas were extra and the main entrees were gone/almost gone by 1:30 and never replenished. read more

I ordered the escargot and crab cake appetizers and tried a French sauvignon blanc...all were excellent. Live music this Friday as well. I am going back for an evening on the patio. Suzette's Christmas Tea is a wonderful treat! This is the second year that my best girl friends and I have gone to Suzette's for their Christmas Tea (in lieu of a present exchange). It's a wonderful leisurely lunch of finger sandwiches a selection of teas ending with scones and a cookie buffet. It's a great place for conversation and the food is plentiful. High tea here is horrible. Donna the owner is rude and so are some of the staff. They don't serve a regular tea. Meaning you don't get your own plate of sandwiches. They serve them one by one like your a child. No strawberry jam which is traditional. Loud noisy rooms. Shame on them for advertising high tea. read more

This place is nice and cozy, with a very nice atmosphere. It's one of those places you can get away with casual wear but also spruce it up with some finer threads. Felt like I was in a small little European spot. The food was excellent. I had a beef crepe which came with some soup and salad. The dessert was excellent, we had some sort of banana foster crepe which was ridiculous and delicious. They also have the bakery next door. We got a few things to go as we were leaving. It looks like they are busy on weekends so it's highly recommended to have a reservation... The one downside to this outing was it took us about 10 minutes to get any sort of service after we had received water. I guess there was some communication about which server owned our table or something. In the end we got some complimentary drinks which was a nice touch. There is a free parking garage right next to it but it's kinda hidden so look out for it. read more

I have immensely enjoyed every thing I sampled in my two visits here. My first visit was around Mardi Gras and Suzette's was featuring Shrimp Remoulade Salad. It was perfect. I also had a tasty corn chowder style soup. The sommelier was very helpful with wine selections and I agreed with the pairing of each one I ordered. My second visit was for a Loire Valley Wine Dinner by Patrick Chabert. We phoned ahead for reservations and left our credit card number as a guaranty. When we arrived we were greeted at the door by the owner who promptly asked how we planned on paying for our dinner. The third person in our party arrived after we did and was also immediately asked about payment. I thought this was a bit odd and quite frankly, tacky. Luckily, my enjoyment of the meal to come overshadowed this faux pas. Our Amuse Bouche was a velvety spring pea soup with mint served in a "shooter" glass and a spectacular Vouvray. Next came escarot in puffed pastry with two beautiful sauces served with a Pouilly Fume. Our third course was a perfectly sauteed salmon over lentils and flavorful yellow tomato coulis with a Chinon. The wine choice here was absolutely right on the mark. Sorbet a la Poire William came next. This was a delicious alternative to citrus based sorbet. Our next course was veal loin stuffed with tapenade mousse (which more gelatinous than I had imagined it would be) over some of the best polenta I have ever tasted and surrounded by a jus natural. Saumur Champigny was the pairing. I was not impressed with this choice. Finally, a refreshing frisee salad topped with ash coated goat cheese. The Sancerre was a phenomenal in bringing out the ash coated cheese and bitterness of the frisee. Our dessert was a truly lush strawberry vacherin glace with raspberry coulis and a wonderful rose wine. This was followed by a sobering cafe and mignardise of candied orange peel heavily scented with nutmeg. We had the same server for both visits who was very professional and well versed with the menu. Extensive hot tea list and scrumptious desserts. A friend and I hit Suzette's after dinner one night. The cappuccino creme brulee was divine. The atmosphere is cozy -- patterned carpet, plants, small tables. I love how they've repurposed antique chairs. It is a little pricey for a cup of tea and dessert but a worthwhile spot for a cozy tete a tete with a friend. The service was pleasant and competent and we weren't rushed. read more

Took a crepe-loving friend here for a belated birthday lunch after I found the place through "le groupon"! We were both pleasantly surprised by the experience from the quick & easy online reservation and the premiere dining table in the shabby chic upholstered chairs to the wonderful appetizer souffle, cheesy soup and tasty crepes with salad. It's a bit pricey for what is being offered, but thanks to our Groupon we came away quite satisfied. Just visited the bakery after a couple years away. Their scones, macarons, and brownies, as well as some other bakery items, taste distinctly stale. They lack in the flavors they used to have, and certain products have clearly been sized down while prices have increased. read more

The location and decor is adorable and quaint. Food is somewhat tasty, however, as someone who has duplicated Julia Childs' chicken crepes and spinach/mushroom souffle, I was extremely disappointed. For $15 (lunch price) I received one small-sized crepe (now I know that I am serving my family a $300 meal when I make chix crepes myself!) that barely contained any chicken at all. It was mostly mushrooms and they had the taste of canned mushrooms. I asked for a side of beet salad instead of greens and they emptied their deli case on a plate! The serving was obnoxiously huge (and not very different from Mom's pickled beets, except for the bleu cheese and walnuts). Manners are everything, but this little French bistro must want to really make you feel @ home in France, because I felt their attitude was a bit rude. When my husband and I walked in for lunch around 11:40, we were asked if we had a reservation (no, did we need one?) and were told that we were "lucky" because most their tables were reserved. We sat at our table for 1-1/2 hrs and only saw one other table of 5 seated during that time. I should mention that the bistro were serving 2 other tables w/patrons at that special "reserved" time. Certainly not a crowd. What brought me in there in the 1st place: Stopped at their booth at the French Market the Sat. before. Purchased a mushroom/swiss torte that was absolutely delicious! Went back a few days later to purchase more of that torte, only to be told "We've never made anything like that!" Really? I asked, I just bought it a few days ago at the Market! Overall feeling: Probably won't go back, unless I'm in the area and have a craving for a torte that they don't make. Overpriced for the quantity and the quality. If I want good French cooking, guess I'll just have to stay at home and make it myself. :( read more

We made reservations here for breakfast on Saturday morning, after reading the suggestions left by previous Yelpers. Not sure why reservations were necessary, as we arrived promptly at 7am (our scheduled time), and did not see another customer in the entire restaurant until we were leaving (around 8am). Even so, the service was attentive but slow. I knew to expect slow service because of other reviews, so it didn't bother me quite as much as it usually would. I ordered the benedict, at the suggestion of the server, and it was divine! I truly was in heaven. My husband ordered the Banana Nutella crepe, and while it was good, it was no comparison to the benedict. The breakfast prices were affordable, but we may be saving for awhile before we can return to try the dinner menu. Regardless, there are many weekend mornings I wake up with a craving for that benedict. Sublime! read more
