The employees are the typical younger people who are usually working the local ice cream establishments but what is unique is that they are all smiling, polite, clean and friendly so kudos to the staff here, you are appreciated! You really make a difference and stand out from some of the other ice cream shops. This is the perfect place to come for burgers and soft serve ice cream, although they have other food options and treats too. The burgers are made from local beef which may not matter to some but I love to support local! I always try their specialty burgers since they offer a unique flavor twist with different sauces, cheeses, and toppings (for example: fried onion straws, aiolis, egg, slaw, etc) You won't get just an ordinary burger at all. The fries are just the way I like them too, crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. The ice cream never disappoints, I love trying their unique flavor options. The Belgian waffle sundae with strawberries is one of my favorites. It's great to have a casual food and ice cream shop that also has unique options. You never get bored with the same thing (unless you get "hooked" on a favorite that you can't stop ordering). One of the best things about this location is the outdoor seating options. There is a covered pavilion area with tables and also tables with umbrellas to keep your ice cream out of the sun so it doesn't melt as fast haha. Really, it's the perfect place to enjoy a beautiful day and some delicious food. The tables and benches are always clean and kept in good condition which is a big deal for me. I discovered this place from a quick Google search, and am so glad that I did. The shop is situated on a back road, but has plenty of parking and is easy to locate. There is a nice porch with some outdoor seating. We went on a Sunday evening in April, and it was not terribly crowded. The line moved fast and service was prompt. All of the girls working were nice and professional. It seemed like one of the girls was in training, and even with this the service was great. Being that it was my first time visiting, I had a lot of questions about the menu. The girl cashiering was kind and willing to answer all of my questions, as well as give product suggestions. We both opted for parfaits with the vanilla custard - the Apple Pie and the Strawberry Pretzel. They were huge and so delicious!!! We also got a pup cup to-go for our dog, and he loved that as well. I thought the prices of everything were very fair, and it is a fantastic value for the quality of product received. In addition to the custard offerings, there is a gift shop to patronize. There is a lot of country-themed gift and novelty items, and it was fun to peruse while waiting in line to order. There also were various other types desserts (pies, cookies, cupcakes, and more), as well as pepperoni rolls, for purchase. I believe these are all homemade by the business! They still had a decent amount of donuts in stock and the line was growing fast. I thought everything was reasonably priced and the standout donuts were the glazed (which is how I usually judge a donut shop) and the blueberry cake. You know it is going to be a good paczki when it is heavy and they didn't disappoint. They had several traditional flavors but also had two rotating specialty flavors. I've also had king cakes and various cookies and they have all been delicious. The place was packed. There was a line, but they kept it moving efficiently. There is parking available, but make sure you don't park in spots designated for another business in the same strip. I saw someone from one of those businesses monitoring spots and threatening a tow (which is obviously their right to do). They also have a cafe side with tables and some cute decor. I looked at the menu options and saw what some patrons were getting and it looked great. Something I'll definitely have to come back and try. Overall, a great spot for some tasty treats. And, in my opinion, the best paczki in Pittsburgh.
