Worst experience EVER!! Carla broke my prescription lens when she was cleaning it then tried to cover it up and say they were cracked already. Had to call the manager over to get them to replace the lens for free. Then a week later Carla called and said she forgot to tell me I had to sign a waiver incase they broke the frames when putting in the new lenses in. Guess what? They broke the frames. These were expensive one year old glasses. Wondering why I spent so much money last year for expensive frames and lenses and they both break nearly the same time a year later. Another 10 days went by then Carla called to say glasses were ready. When I went in to try them on I discovered Carla had them make the wrong prescription. She submitted my reading glass subscription instead of my regular distance glasses. She said she would put a rush on them and send them back. LOL I think she was doing this on purpose because I wasn't willing to spend $200 for a pair of basic reading glasses with SVS. This i believe is her retaliation. Had trouble with my digital exam also. That's another story. I'm still waiting for my glasses. Point is stay away from this location of SVS. Carla is a terrible sales person and completely incompetent. ! will never set foot in an SVS location again, except to pick up my repaired glasses. read more

I had to go to another place to get reexamed cause they would not correct my vision twice they said I was in early stages of cataracs so they could not fix my vision the new place I went corrected my vision so I had to pay more money to get glasses right. please please reconsider if you are thinking of going to SVS I also had to get prescription re written it was scribbled I could not read it .. workers are very unprofessional ... doctor unfriendly read more

This a mixed review. Dr Atkins was great; she's thorough, explained things well and kind. The reason for my 2 star review was largely due to the rude eyeglass sales representative Cheryl. If I go back again, I would avoid this lady with curly hair and fake acrylic nails. First of all, she was rude, didn't even knock and barged right into my exam room before the Dr was completely done. Then she took me out front to choose glasses. Either she is not very knowledgeable with the glasses brands (confusing ray bans with oakleys), or that she just didn't care about what I want, I had to keep asking her to show me more brands of sunglasses. I informed her upfront that I had a $50 coupon that I forgot to bring and wouldn't be purchasing today; all I wanted was to get my exam prescription. However, she was pushy all the way up until the end, kept saying oh I can just leave a $50 balance on my purchase and bring back the coupon. No, lady that's not what I want to do. A few other bothersome points with Cheryl. Her long fake acrylic nails touched my face when she measure my eye center. Disgusting! She is also super slow and forgetful. I had to remind her at the end to print my prescription. Last but not least, side/irrelevant point, her watch is worn the wrong way, and it is 50 mins behind actual time! I have Blue Cross Complete and my glasses and lens are a %100 covered. I seen the doctor and she was wonderful. However when I pick my glasses and checkout, it was a enormous amount of fees on my order. I asked them to explain the reason for all the outrageous fees and I was told some unbelievable story. So I requested for all of it to be removed and only have what my insurance cover. Just as I thought I was over charged for something I didn't request for. Then I had them add on the Transition Prescription to be charged correctly. Also earlier our conversation the transition prescription quote was cheaper. I feel that your staffs are manipulating customer and lying and not letting customers know about these extra cost added to their bill. I know it's to make more money. When I questioned the situation, I was told by the young man he was trained like that. This is totally unacceptable I am investigating. My insurance company would have Knowledge about this. I came here to get my eye exam/prescription glasses. The reason why I gave a one star because of its poor service/poor eye exam/the price I came here on a Saturday morning and arrived on time to my appointment. I had to wait about 25 minutes to get seen even though I made an appointment. During my eye exam, I felt the optometrist was rushing...and i really think he did a poor job. The optometrist typically has a screen with letters on the wall..and they do change lenses to compare which lenses would give me better vision..so when he asked me to compare that which lenses give me better vision..he kept changing the lenses and did not give me enough time to look/my eyes to respond......i lost track which lenses give me better vision during the exam bc he was rushing. and there was no language tool for me to communicate to him which one is better ...if i already lost track which comes to first..how do i tell which lenses is better.." this or that"...that's not an acceptable communicate tool..but it was too fast that i don't know how to tell him which is first or second......Honestly, to me a good optometrist would at least name the lenses..or at least give my eye some time to respond.....(I had my eye exam done with my previous optometrist at Henry Ford OptimeEye, the optometrist would ask " is 1 better or 2 better", which i believe help me communicate better)...during the whole time, I was annoyed b/c i felt i couldn't communicate my true vision with him.. When it came to the time I have to pick for my glasses..of course the sales person quote me for the BEST lenses in other words..the most expensive lenses...She didn't really give me the opportunities to see the type of options i have...she just gave me the BEST lenses price..I have to ask her to dissect the price of my lenses so i can ask to remove unnecessary function of my lenses..I felt like she was not really patient with me..and she was just pushing it for me to have all lenses coating...it was quote over 200 dollar for just the lenses enough I have my insurance..I had to ask to remove some items to get it slightly under 200 dollars..I have good eye insurance, so I was able to get my frame free...and some discount on my lenses but still came out to be just slightly under 200 dollars..i can't imagine how much it would cost without my insurance.. When I got my glasses, i don't think it make me see better compare to my previous glasses...I bet it's b/c of its poor eye exam the optometrist did I would not come back to this place again or recommend this vision center to anyone b/c of its poor eye exam technique and its pushy attitude when it comes to getting my prescription glasses. read more

i came here on black friday because i noticed they were having a sale. i was immediately greeted and assisted by the friendliest staff. everyone at this location is so genuine and nice. not one person was rude at all. the doctor even offered to stay late so i could get my eye exam that same day. it was the best experience i have ever had at an optometrist. yes they were busy but they still managed to answer all my questions and help me out. i will definitely be returning snd referring all my friends and family. read more

My eyes aren't terrible! In the past, I've always been given a mild prescription for reading glasses. I do have to admit my eyes have been getting a little worse the last few years. Anyways, my insurance changed and I decided to try SVS. I Went to SVS twice. The first time (two years ago) I was examined and after insurance spent an additional 400 dollars for a new pair of glasses. I probably wore the glasses less than two dozen times because they just didn't seem to help. So this year I was determined to get glasses that actually helped. During the exam, the doctor seemed to be rushing. After a few minutes the doctor pushed the machine away and said: "ok, we got you a new prescription". I said wait a minute, I still can't see clearly! His response was " Well that's as good as we can get" given your 63 years old and your eyes are just getting worse! Mind you I passed my eye exam (without glasses) for license renewal just that month. He told me I needed to buy new glasses with the perscription we wrote! I told him "why would I pay hundreds of dollars to get glasses that didn't help???? I will never go back to SVS! read more

So, this is my first time going to an SVS Vision center and I am one of those people who likes to check reviews before I try a new place and even though some of the reviews about this place was not very good I gave it a try anyway. So far my experience has not been that great! First off the receptionist was not a customer friendly person and seemed to almost be upset that I was bothering her when I came in. The Dr. had no bedside manners at all, he did not introduce himself, no handshake, good morning, nothing in the way of manners and he did not ask a single question. When I realized he had no intentions of doing either I just started telling him about my eye history to which I got little to no feed back. He spent all of about 10 min doing the exam and I have had a much more through exam at Walmart!!! the lady helping me pick out my frames was great!!(Silver lining). The glasses she helped me pick out were exactly what I was looking for. However, when I went to pick them up I had to wait for a tech for over 15min. The young lady that did finally end up assisting me was the most professional person aside from the one helping me pick out my frames in this whole place. The down side, next day I wear my glasses to work and I work on a computer all day in medical billing and I was not able to see clearly on the computer at all, I put in the contacts she gave me as a trail pair and I ended up having to take them out as well. When I called the office about the situation once again the receptionist was very rude and even though I said good morning and asked how she was, she completely dismissed what I had said and only asked what did I need! I explained what was going on and she was short and stated that I need to bring them back in and they would go from there.
