I absolutely love this place. The employees there are super friendly and the food is always awesome. I used to go to Lotus often, but with this restaurant being much closer to me (and they actually answer the phone for to go orders) this will be my go to from now on. Also, it seems as though the food tastes better. We love the City Pack, Boiled Shrimp, and Crabs. The whole chicken wings are great as well. Great food and menu options. We had peeled shrimp, shrimp fried rice, and spicy corn. The food was great and came in very large portions. The restaurant was incredibly loud inside and there weren't any empty tables so we took our food to-go. The wings were amazing. Completely changed my opinion on what you should be receiving when ordering wings. Fried perfectly and could have used a little more seasoning.I ordered the original swamp original wings, and will be back to try the other wings. Yuck. I got the two piece fried fish. It was large fillets and hot in temperature which is good, but not flavorful and pretty fishy to be catfish. The hush puppies were alright. No cocktail, no cold slaw, you pay extra for the hush puppies but then no fries. The staff was impatient and not friendly. I've heard so much about this place and decided to try it. It was clean inside, the service was pretty quick considering it was the lunch rush a quite a few people ordering, and the food was great! Very similar to lotus but more selections and variety to me. I got the mini city pack which was still a lot. I have left overs for the next day. I also got some wings and a green tea smoothie which was yummy. For me, the locations was easier to get to than Lotus so I would definitely go back. I only gave it 4 stars because when I warmed up my rice the next day, it was pretty gummy and not as good as day one. read more

The food is great. It's the main reason why I keep coming back. I'm a to go kind of person and they will not accept orders over a certain amount. They locked the doors way before closing time and then laugh if you make it inside and can't place an order. Let's just say don't expect chick fil a customer service in this place. If you can get past that it's cool. The prices are feasible and the sauce they sell is amazing. I feel like you should get one free but oh well. The Hubz & I ordered the whole wings (only comes in Cajun flavor), lemon pepper & hot buffalo wings...which come with fries...ALL really good!! And we're very picky eaters. We also had some kind of mini pack that comes with a few seasoned shrimp (which were GOOD & had a hint of spicy) and seafood rice (wasn't too good ). But the customer service was great from everyone! I'm writing this review based off of my moms experience. My moms coworker is addicted to this place and recommend she check it out. I went with my mom yesterday after picking her up from work. My mom loveddddd her food. She had shrimp fried rice, wings (not sure which flavor) , mild unpeeled shrimp, and a strawberry and pineapples smoothie. The cashier was very patient and worked with my mom to make sure she got the best combo for what she wanted to try. The inside was decorated well and was fairly clean. The rice is super fresh and the serving sizes are huge! Even for Texas standards! I had the crawfish fried rice on my first visit. I ordered the smaller size and it took me 2 days to finish it all. I'm very familiar with the Southside of Houston and the broad variety of seafood spots to go to so when I moved to the North side of Houston 2 years ago it was disappointing in the lack of seafood spots to eat. I was glad to find Swamp City.The food was very good. I ordered a 1/2 order of shrimp and 2 lbs of crawfish and I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the crawfish. They were all medium to large, juicy, and well seasoned no complaints on the food. They are very busy but the wait time isn't bad for a busy location. The service is iffy, the lady who took my order was dry and look like she was ready for her shift to end but everyone else (the man cleaning the tables off and the lady who worked the pick-up line) were nice and attentive.
