Huge portions for cheap. They have several daily specials under $10. The seafood is fresh and they have a big variety of menu options. The fried fish plate is actually sea bass and not just fish filet parts. It was delicious. You have the option to have your fried seafood in a cornmeal or flour batter. Most plates come with shrimp fried rice which was also delicious. Everyone was so friendly. Our waitress checked on us continuously and was so warm and courteous. You can tell it was a HOT spot because it was packed in there the entire time but oddly enough you didn't have a long wait to be seated.

First time here and I definitely think it's better than golden! It was a clean environment and both the fish and shrimp tasted great was not fishy at all! Great crisp and the fish was cooked perfectly! I also tried there shrimp cocktail and that was pretty stellar too came with a lot of shrimp they were not stingy! When I come back to Houston will def make sure I am coming back to this location!

Tostada de pulpo. Mostly veggies, not enough squid.

Ordered some food for pick and honestly one of the worst experiences with Connie's. I usually go to the one on long point and the portions and service is always great. I ordered 3 tostadas de pulpo and they gave me a few pieces of squid and the rest was a lettuce. Then I went back and asked why they where so stingy and if I can get more and they did take it back but just added a little more which honestly made no difference. Will stick to going to the one on long point from now on.

The food is always so good and the people are courteous. I recommend the ceviche tostada and the mangonada.

The seafood gumbo is the best, by far. Their grilled salmon and the fried catfish is delicious as well.

Just kidding LOL that didn't happen! Anyway, back to the point, sorry.. I like to mess around a little. I wasn't that hungry because I had food yesterday I ordered a kids cheeseburger burger with fries, a kids meal chicken tender with fries, a farmhouse burger, and the half chicken with biscuits. I also had the his biscus lemonade. Needless to say--well actually, quite needing to say since this is a review after all--the food was pretty good. Prices were a little crazy but it's become all to normal in this day and age. As for the food, I ordered a kids cheeseburger burger with fries , a kids meal chicken tender.. don't feel like saying all this again. As for the food, the service was pretty good I guess. The girl servers were pretty smart. The boy servers were a little less smart. Every time the guys brought food, they either stood there looking around, or attempted to place the food on top of other plates or napkins that were on the tiny table. I suggest maybe a boot/concentration program for the guys so they can concentrate a lil more. Ok, it's time for me to go. I'm gonna go to sleep after all the food. I forgot to mention what I ordered. kids cheeseburger burger with fries, a kids meal chicken tender with fries, a farmhouse burger, and the half chicken with biscuits. I also had the his biscus lemonade. The half chicken was obviously what they tried the hardest in. There were 4 types of sauce with it. They were all pretty good, but I didn't eat the chicken. The chicken tasted incredible-- so much so that I finished it completely. But I don't like eating around bones, I find it primitive. I'm more of a chicken tender kinda guy if you know what I mean. Oh yeah and for the food, I had a his biscus lemonade. It was SO good. Alright. And that is the end of my review. I hope I did t forget to list my food items because I've gotten hate messages calling me weird. Anyway, I'm out chat. Thank you to my faithful followers. Continue to look forward to my honest reviews. P.S. the beginning part was not a joke it actually happened. I have a video but I won't put it because I'm tryna lay low it you know what I'm sa Tying to you yuui

There's two homes converted into a restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating as well. It was a beautiful, sunny day so we decided to sit under the shade outside. For drinks we ordered sangria and pineapple mimosas. The blueberry ginger pancakes seemed like a hit based on reviews so I ordered that as my entree. The portion size was huge so it was very filling. The ginger was not overwhelming at all and really complemented the sweetness of the blueberry toppings. I also ordered a the pork belly deviled eggs which were pretty yummy as well. My fiancé ordered the gumbo which was very savory and filled with the perfect combo of shrimp, chicken and andouille sausage. The service was good as well. Our waiter checked on us several times throughout our meal. Very solid brunch spot in the heights!

There were also a lot of families, which was cute, although I personally am not buying my daughter $16 fries. Our waitress was personable and made great suggestions, especially regarding mocktails. This is important for non-drinkers because there are no mocktails on the drink menu, but the bartender will craft something you will like. Even my friend who normally avoids mocktails was very impressed. Apps: Crab Hushpuppies - 10/10: Crunchy, crabby, and came with a fantastic honey butter sauce. Caviar Tater Tots - 6/10: Well done -- they literally whipped the potato on the inside -- but at $37, you are paying more for the caviar, which was missing that fresh, creamy saltiness you normally seek. You also only get 4 tots. I would just get two orders of the crab hushpuppies. Mains: Chicken - 10/10: The truffle sauce was dreamy, and I think they could sell it on the streets. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and tender, and the dish also came with flaked truffles on top. I normally do not order chicken out, but this dish makes me wonder what I've been missing. Lobster fettuccini - 7/10: I don't think this is the dish to get here. The lobster didn't taste the freshest, and it also didn't have a lot of lobster to begin with. The sauce was well done and clearly made with lobster stock. I would come back, but there are dishes that shine much brighter than others.

Maybe my expectations were too high, but one of my pancakes was under cooked. The others were still just average to me in terms of flavor AND texture. But, I'm a "crispy edges" pancake kinda of person, and these definitely don't hit that mark. Now my eggs and bacon were fantastic, but those are two breakfast staples that are kind of hard to mess up. Now the service?! Oh my, the service was amazinggggggg. I sat at the bar and I felt like I had the entire bar staff catering to me. They definitely excel in that regard!!! Constantly checking in, glass always stayed full, and anything I requested came with a quickness. My griddle cakes, bacon, eggs, and a glass of bubbles came to $47, which is super expensive for breakfast. The price tag just isn't worth it for me to try again, honestly. But I'm glad I came! Their menu is very, VERY limited, so if you're a picky eater you may want to check their offerings first before venturing here.
