Food is always good, portions are always different, sometimes small , sometimes the shrimp fried rice has two or three shrimps. But here is the problem, they have signs on every table for World Cup specials, they have different pricing, well they did not honor it, and they say it doesn't apply until the World Cup started, well is 6/11/26. But in this sign I see no dates. Staff was rude about it. It is to be expected in this type of restaurants, it is not much of a difference, price is good for the food. In the end to the business owner, do not put out signs before your promotion, and date your signs. We are dining in. read more

Apparently they have been around for a while. All I've ever known is the Airline location oops! I actually like this one better. It's smaller but less crowded. I had given up on Connie's since last few times at their main location their fish was always rubbery it was just weird and hot idk how people can stand being in there long. So I'm glad I found this one. Miches are always good but don't ask for "Tajin" cus it's not and it's spicy AF! Food was pretty good. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Definitely coming back and it beats the airline location with all that goes around there. read more

Another great meal at Connie's Seafood at the Jensen Parker and Eastex Freeway location. Went with a good friend following a little out. I had taken him for his first time a month or two ago and asked him where he wanted to go for lunch. He sId he wanted to go to that seafood place we went to last time. As always, this place is so good. The shrimp was perfectly fried, the fried rice excellent, the service exceptional, the restaurant clean with all the condiments on the table. One thing about this place is that it has kept its prices reasonable without sacrificing quality over the years. Huge portions for cheap. They have several daily specials under $10. The seafood is fresh and they have a big variety of menu options. The fried fish plate is actually sea bass and not just fish filet parts. It was delicious. You have the option to have your fried seafood in a cornmeal or flour batter. Most plates come with shrimp fried rice which was also delicious. Everyone was so friendly. Our waitress checked on us continuously and was so warm and courteous. You can tell it was a HOT spot because it was packed in there the entire time but oddly enough you didn't have a long wait to be seated. read more

First time here and I definitely think it's better than golden! It was a clean environment and both the fish and shrimp tasted great was not fishy at all! Great crisp and the fish was cooked perfectly! I also tried there shrimp cocktail and that was pretty stellar too came with a lot of shrimp they were not stingy! I have order Connie's via DoorDash. They always have my order within 30 mins and it's always still hot. We have ordered the fried shrimp. Fried rice and egg rolls. Great fried shrimp! Jumbo fried shrimp were not greasy at all. Huge shrimp with incredible fresh taste. Served with shrimp fried rice that was a real treat. Extremely budget friendly. We got to the restaurant at 5pm on a Saturday and the parking lot and restaurant were packed with people. That's the sign of a great place to eat. Will be back for sure! read more

Ordered some food for pick and honestly one of the worst experiences with Connie's. I usually go to the one on long point and the portions and service is always great. I ordered 3 tostadas de pulpo and they gave me a few pieces of squid and the rest was a lettuce. Then I went back and asked why they where so stingy and if I can get more and they did take it back but just added a little more which honestly made no difference. The food is okay. They fuck up out order every other time we go there, but we keep going back, for some reason. It's in a super small shopping plaza that's always jam packed with people trying to get $5 little ceasers pizza next door, and the insurance/ phone place will take up 1 parking spot to set up a tent and blast merengue music thru a portable speaker. There's a Houston metro bus stop and either a halfway house or recovery home, right behind it, and across the street is I-59 which houses a herd of homeless people who will ask you for money before and after you leave this area. ...all this and we still keep going back. read more

We are baby boomers retired native Houstonians who were raised on fine restaurant food and now enjoy trying many of the Houston eateries that we hear about but just did not yet get around trying yet. This place, we had dinner at last evening - in a word ......... DISGUSTING !!! Folks, we wasted $40 so please if you are reading this SAVE YOUR MONEY this establishment is really enough to make you "GAG" - the fish was NOT redfish as stated but "GAR" ( a trash bayou fish few consume ) - sickening - all batter little tiny canned or bottled oysters the size of a quarter at best - flat crazy looking shrimp not enough for a baby - and fried rice with a horrible odor. To sum it up " a joke" and to top it off the place is scary located in surroundings with hobo's thugs drug addicts convicts outside the windows + doors - AVOID!!!!!! read more

I can't really vouch for any of the fresh seafood or any fish other than the fried tilapia. Whenever I go to Connie's or Mambo, I always end up getting the whole fried tilapia. What I like best about this place, is that the fish always comes out piping hot and continues to stay hot as you consume it. You can't beat a whole-fried fish, a generous serving of fried rice, and a roll for 7 bucks. Overall, cheap and good. read more

It was my first visit to Connie's Seafood. I was skeptical due to past reviews of the restaurant. My family and I ordered a lot of different food. I had 1 lb. of jumbo shrimp scampi. It was good--just needed some salt. That was an easy fix. My Dad orders a jumbo seafood platter. It looked good and he had no complaints. We also shared a dozen oysters on the half shell. I was hesitant about ordering them but they were good! A little small in size but were ice cold and their juice/liquor tasted fresh. Lastly, I ordered 1 lb. of calamari to go for my son. He is used to Pappa's Seafood calamari and actually asked if Connie's included fried artichoke hearts. I had to remind him I had gone to a neighborhood seafood restaurant and no, it was highly unlikely that his calamari had artichokes with it. That being said, the calamari was really tasty. I mixed a mock remoulade sauce with tarter sauce and ketchup. He is used to the marinara and remoulade that Pappa's serves. But it was half the price of Pappa's. The fish fillets that were served with the seafood platter were really thick and meaty--very fresh. Service was good despite the restaurant being completely full. I would definitely stop in again and would feel comfortable ordering food to go from this location. read more

Small place. Came in they had a music group of two. It was so loud you could not have a conversation at all. It was a small place so they would come and play at each table, so even though we didn't call them over they would be right next to our table.. I should've paid attention to how I was initially treated and walked out. Why? Well, when I walked in not one employee said hello to me. I sat art a table while the cashiers up front didn't bother to tell a server a guest, that being me, had just say down. After not being acknowledged for about five minutes I thought maybe I need to place my order at the counter and the food would be delivered to my table. When the cashier in the black shirt found out I wanted to dine in, she didn't take my order, she instead sent me back to my seat saying a server would be over to take my order...Ok. My server was a nice person, just unfocused. After she took my order, she chatted with her other guests and played with somebody's infant son...Ok. Well, while she's doing all that I can see in the expo window my gumbo dying while my server chats with another table and the cashiers are now playing mommy with the little boy. When my gumbo finally gets delivered, my server never came by to ask if the soup was ok, or if I needed anything. That's server basics 101. I had to walk over to my server, who was still at that other table talking with that same guest to ask for crackers for my gumbo. When I tried the gumbo, it tasted like tomato soup with rice and seafood! So, after about maybe two or three spoonfuls of soup, I pushed it aside hoping when my server would come by to see if there was an issue with the soup, but she never did. When my fish arrived, it was better. Not the best catfish I've ever had, but I figured it will make a turd. Ok. The lady who delivered my entree asked me if I liked the soup, I told her no. A few minutes later a cashier in a black shirt comes over and starts questioning me like I stole something. She had the audacity to tell me that I would still have to pay for the soup despite the fact I didn't like it. I told her I could understand if I had eaten half of, or all the soup and said I didn't like it, but the bowl was still full and steaming. She actually said to me, "What am I supposed to do with this? You can't order something and not pay for it just because you don't like it." She actually said that to a paying customer. Another lady, I guess the floor manager in a purple shirt comes up to me and says the same thing. I responded to them both by saying, "If my waitress had done the minimum, which is check on her guest, me, to make sure I'm happy with my food, instead of playing with babies, she would've seen I didn't like or eat the soup, and they were visibly upset because I refused to pay for a Manhattan chowder masquerading as gumbo. The manager in the purple shirt argues with me saying she can't run a business with everybody sending back food, to which I respond, "I'm happy to pay for my fish, because I like it and I'm eating it. I didn't like the gumbo, I didn't eat the gumbo, therefore I will not pay for the gumbo. I am a waiter myself, so I'm very empathetic to servers having to deal with people and THEIR attitudes, or having a bad day, but that cashier and that manager were just rude and disrespectful, and my waitress was completely inattentive. She didn't even do the bare minimum: didn't ask me if I needed anything, never refilled my drink, never asked if my food was okay, you know, the bare minimum you expect from your server. Oh, and when I mentioned that to the purple shirt, she says, "well, we all help each other out around here." Yeah, you stick together, too. If you all help each other, why did I have to go to the counter before anyone acknowledged I was there to dine as a guest? Could it be because I was wearing sweats and a t-shirt? I noticed I was the ONLY black person dining in a restaurant full of Spanish speaking guests. Was that it? Because if so, I speak Spanish, too, but my server never bothered to come by my table except to take my order and drop the check, so she wouldn't have known that. So I spent $13 on a meal and $2 on a tip to be treated like a bum who wanted something for free. That's ok, Connie's Seafood. I know plenty of places where I can be mistreated for free. read more

The seafood gumbo is the best, by far. Their grilled salmon and the fried catfish is delicious as well.

They have some of the best food for the price. I especially like their selections of fried rice. You can get a humongous plate of fried rice for under $6, and that's just a small. My other favorites are their combo #1 (2 pc of fish, shrimp, and shrimp fried rice). Don't let the area scare you away. It's good and relatively cheap. read more

I had the Fish and Shrimp and it was nothing special. The fish was Sea Bass and was tasty but the shrimp was so strong I could not eat it. My friend had the Catfish and was extremely strong tasting as well. I ordered the hush puppy's a they were wimpy and had a weird taste to them. read more
