Well someone stole my credit card and went to this restaurant Swamp City Seafood 300 W. Little York Rd 77076 and the thief TRIED to charge $139.53 and when I called the restaurant and told them that someone on 4-28-2026 Tuesday is using my credit card to fraudulently buy food from them they told me to call back later , So they didn't seem to care at all and I wouldn't go eat there but I do love that type of food but because the person I spoke to didn't want to help me at all. Love this place! The murals and decor all around are Houston themed and the food is great! Wait times can be a bit long so calling ahead or ordering online is the way to go, especially during the lunch hour rush. The only thing I wish is that the crawfish and small shrimp were cleaned. It's not located in the best area of town, and you can tell they've had some security concerns since there was a police officer camped out inside - never a good sign. The food itself was pretty good. I got the cajun boiled shrimp, and the cajun fries. They asked how I wanted the shrimp - mild, hot, extra hot, etc - and I chose hot. The 'hot' was very hot, and I don't want to know how spicy the extra hot would have been. It had a good flavor, but it was almost too hot to be enjoyable. The cajun fries were excellent though, and I really enjoyed them. I wish all fries were seasoned like those. I was in the general area for lunch a week ago and Yelp led me here. I mean, over 200 reviews and a 4.5 star average. Heck yeah! Well in my opinion this time Yelp failed me. It's located in a shopping center on the end so parking space is plentiful. Initially after walking in, I liked the interior decor with the lights hanging from the ceiling but after just a few minutes I started thinking "low rent" and changed my mind. Also the dining area looked unkept. Ordering at the counter, I chose a 2 fish and 6 shrimp plate with fries for $10.99. After filling my drink cup at the self serve station I grabbed a table and waited less than 15 minutes for my food to be ready. Whether you eat in or get it to go, the food is served in covered styrofoam containers. Taste wise, I wasn't impressed with the seafood and even less so with the fries. The seafood taste was uninspiring and as I ate it all I could think was that I have had better. Not horrible but not even a 3 in my mind. The fries had a semi crusty exterior and I didn't want to finish eating them which is a bad sign. I do agree with others in that this place reminds me of Lotus in many ways but I think their fried seafood tastes a little better than this. For this one meal there is no way I can give anything other than a 2 which flies in the face of its current 4.5 star average. I don't get it and have no desire to return. read more

I love that little hint of sugar on the wings, kinda reminds me of Frenchy's chicken. The fried fish and shrimp were well seasoned and fresh also. I've since gone back and tried the large peeled shrimp boil and the Cajun rice - ohhhmg it was good! Not only do I appreciate that they offer deveined and peeled shrimp, but I poured the shrimp over my rice because the sauce is BOMB-DOT-COM. The dining experience isn't bad either - not a ton of space, but just enough because most people order to go in which they have a system for that. Overall, I'll be back for more of the same.
