I've been here several times during regular hours and when they host special events. It's a cool space and spot in Lakeland near a walkable lake. They have indoor and outdoor spaces, and the events with live music and markers are always fun. They have a beer on tap for everyone -- from lagers, to IPAs, hazy beers, and dark beers. Wow!! Is all I can say. My husband and I just moved here from St Pete and we love breweries. It's a shock moving from St Pete to Lakeland because there's so many breweries in St Pete. We were afraid we wouldn't be able to find a good one that we liked. Well last night, we were pleasantly surprised by Swan Brewing. As soon as you step in , it's like visual overload. But in a good way. I feel like there's something to look at in every corner which is great. I was looking around mesmerized for a good 10 minutes before even ordering. LOL. The decor, the ambiance , the beer. All 10/10. I haven't even told you about the beer selection!!! They have a menu with 30 beers !!!!! I couldn't choose, so as I usually do I ordered a flight. I have to say the best beer I tried was the #1 Straight outta Lakeland. They also have ciders and wine. I'm not sure if they have food there, or maybe they have food trucks. We went an hour before closing so we didn't really ask. I cannot say enough good things about this brewery but we definitely can't wait to go back. Fun place to grab a beer in Lakeland. They have a great outdoor area under tents for live music, parties. Perfect for the cooler weather. They have a very nice tasting room as well with a long bar and tables inside. They are open 7 days a week and they advertise to have live music and food trucks daily. There are 30 beers on tap with 11 or 12 of them being Swan brewing beers. I tried the ipa which I'd give 4/5 stars. They are also family and pet friendly. Definitely our new favorite spot for drinks!! This place is awesome inside, and has an amazing beer selection. I'm not even a huge beer drinker, but I took my husband because he loves beer. The service was great, and the prices are really fair. You can get a tasting size (5 oz) of some of the beers for just $2.50. Some half pints are only $3.50. We got a flight of 4 beers (tasting sizes), one half-pint, and two pints for around $30. That's super affordable! My favorite beers were the Swan Bean Flicker (a blonde coconut & coffee beer), and the Two Brothers In the Flesh (sour prickly pear beer). The Lakeside Tangerine Wheat and the Swan Cob was pretty good too. The Swan Cob was really smooth and almost creamy. My husband's favorite was the new Swan Tropics Ale. As their name says, this is a brewery, and I was really impressed by the beers they produce. They also have some other local beers, so the selection is great. Go try it out!! read more

It's so nice to find a nice brewery in Lakeland when we are here visiting family. And the beers are great! This is one of the most comfortable craft breweries I've yet experienced. The set up is just about perfect. Very nice indoor seating, and a bunch of outdoor seats and tables under a big tent. Love this hidden gem in Lakeland. Beer was good and they have ample outdoor seating under a tent with views of the lake. Stopped by Swan while visiting my in-laws in Lakeland. My BIL had been to Swan before and liked the vibe so away we went. It happened to be their one year anniversary and even though we went early it was busy. The inside area was small IMO but the outside area was a decent size. There were swarms of gnats which was annoying but part of the territory of being outside. I did like that they had games for people to play while enjoying some beers and I also enjoyed the live music. Now onto the beers because that's what you really care about right?! The menu could be hard to see if it's extra crowded in there but I used Untappd to see what they had so I could get in line to order. My favorite was the pineapple hard cider but between myself and the other 5 people in my group I tried several different brews. My hubby Mike and I wanted to introduce my grandparents to craft beers while visiting them in Florida as well as check out how Floridians do craft beers. We found this Lakeland spot through the powers of Yelp. The theme of this brewery is...swans with some hipster flair. We did flights to be able to sample some of their beers. This brewery is in an optimal spot in downtown Lakeland, and I'm so glad we tried it out! The rented patio creates a homey atmosphere, overlooking the water. There was also a food truck stationed on the lot, which was such a treat to see. I almost always feel the need for some food to go along with my beer, especially when I am at a brewery. I tried a nutty beer (cannot remember the name of it), based on a bartender's recommendation and was so impressed. I am a sucker for a nutty beer! The only reason I did not give this brewery 5 stars is because I was not a huge fan of the live music. Almost seemed like they are going for a specific crowd, and I didn't feel like part of that crowd. I was happy when the band ended their set. read more

Excellent brewery! I greatly enjoyed my time here and all of the beers I had. Of note are the Bean, Tropics and Downton Brown. Extremely flavor forward beers that you can tell care and attention to detail were a high priority during the brewing process. The location is great right near the water and they offer indoor/outdoor seating. Along with the beer are some small snack items but nothing for a full fledged meal. That is where the food trucks come in. During my visit there was a Greek food truck available. I'm told these rotate in and out and there are almost always a few options. They have a shuffleboard available to have some fun with, darts in the back, corn hole out front and several board games to play while you enjoy your drinks. This brewery just had their Grand Opening on Friday and it was a great time. They have a pretty impressive beer list considering they just opened with at least 25 beers on tap. The facility itself is beautiful and there is plenty of indoor space and lawn space. The food trucks they brought in for the opening were also delicious - so clearly these owners have good taste. For the beers I started off with the Lakeside Tangerine Wit (5.3% ABV - $6 for a pint) - just as citrus-like as you might imagine, but a perfect and cool summertime beer. It was hot outside so this beer definitely helped with that. Then after we grabbed some food I went for the sour beer (my current favorite craft beer type) called Ripe Here Right Now. It was delicious - easy to drink and was gone quickly. I'm not sure if this one is meant for the regular rotation, but I hope it is! The crowd that day was friendly and all the staff was pleasant even though there was probably hundreds of people there. I will definitely take more trips to Lakeland for a drink at Swan Brewing. I hope they receive lots of support from the community and from people driving along I-4. read more

The parking is a pain. The beer selection locally is pleasant. They also have "neighbors" beer from other close areas. Lots and lots of space in and outside for groups and a beer tender that gives you a great welcome with an honest smile. They do have a food truck and the companies swap out except Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Check out Facebook for the line up for food. They have music nightly and it looks like a perfect hangout for the college students near by. Four stars is my five. Five means they blew my mind or went above and beyond my expectations. read more

Positives first: Lakeland already had a fun lakeside brewery go under, so I'm glad to see the locals supporting a spot like this. The outdoor area is a fun adult play area, and the food truck and live music are a nice touch. They have darts inside which is an automatic star in my book. Not so great: Parking is tough in this area, so make sure you are sober enough when leaving to cross these busy streets! The biggest drawback for me was the actual product. Our group got multiple flights so we could try every beer they brewed. Nothing stood out as anything I would come back to have, or that I would be excited about if they started distributing. Our group of 5 visited Swan brewing on a Friday night and it was busy but not packed (which we liked). Entertainment in the form of a singer was provided and he had a great voice and his songs/playing were nice. I tried the peach cider and found it, like the pineapple cider, refreshing. My wife had the Hefeweizen and really liked it. Our friends had a dark lager and vanilla ale both of which they found tasty. Overall the crowd was on the youngish side (our group's average age was probably 55). We enjoyed food from the food truck that evening and the food was delicious but the service was incredibly slow - I mean i n c r e d i b l y slow (easily at least a half hour from order to getting the food). So, if you go there hungry and they are busy, expect to be REALLY hungry by the time you get your food! Swan should consider having a couple of food trucks on busier nights or offering some sort of a pizza delivery deal. We sat outside under the tent as the temperatures permitted this. However, the bugs that night were toying with driving us away! There is limited inside seating/standing and that area was fairly crowded. So much so, that it made ordering libations problematic. There is no table service so you have to go to the bar to order a drink. There are TVs above the bar and of course that attracts people who are sitting at the bar, drinking and watching TV. It made it difficult to get through the crowd to get one of the 3-4 barkeeps' attention. Also note: smoking (including cigars) must be permitted on the premises given that people were doing it. Being outside made this not problem other than an occasional waft of smoke. My pet peeve, no pun intended, was that people showed up with dogs. I don't know why people believe that an evening in a crowded venue having a drink is appropriate place to bring a dog, but they do. I can't remember the last time I saw a wandering pack of dogs go into a bar and enjoy drinks and the entertainment - so maybe this isn't the natural place dogs would choose if they could. There were puppies and big dogs and small dogs. Some dogs can do well in crowds and noise - but puppies? Of course, some of the dogs didn't interact well (gee, you'd think they were animals or something) - their owners thought this was cute and just dog play. Ughhh. For a few hours, couldn't your pet be alone?!? People also brought young children, which, again, I don't understand. While it wasn't an adult atmosphere from the perspective of entertainment, I can't imagine that young kids think this is a great place to go with their parents even with the one bean toss. If this were a street festival that featured a beer tent among other things, I'd feel differently, but this is a place you go to enjoy a drink and conversation. Is this really the limit of parents creativity for family outings?!? Overall, I'd recommend Swan Brewing because I think they offer some interesting and delicious craft drinks. Location is great, but parking could be a problem during prime times as it is all street parking(unless you borrow a spot in a near by business). We each selected 5 "tasters" and found a couple that we would order the next time and for non-beer drinkers they do have some wine selections. I even saw some orange juice? walking around. As someone with Celiacs breweries aren't usually a lot of fun because I loved beer before I got diagnosed, but can't drink it anymore. Not a problem here!! Swan has their own seltzers and ciders brewed right there and they are FANTASTIC. As a former beer drinker most seltzers are way too sweet, but I loved the Gatorade flavored one.
