the only one i will recommend,i can not speak highly enough about dave bancroft, first i will start with 10 years ago while my mom was still alive she said we should get our chimney checked out by a professional seeing my step dad had pass and he was the one who took care of everything. we called dave and he came out and clean everything ,fixed some bricks that had loosen ,then sealed everything and then we bought a cap which was / is still very nice. i watch as he pulled a few dead birds out and other crap,well this past winter the cap came off i think a combination hurricane winds and that 30 year bad ice built up ,that cap must of fallen a good 30 plus feet hitting all solid ice blocks and not a scratch on it ! i called dave that day and ask if he would mind looking at it once the ice melted from the roof and last week he put it back up and wouldn't take a penny ! he stood by his work 10 years prior and said that should of never came off and it must of been one hell of a wind ,i will also add the cap he sold me still look bran new like the day he took it out of the box 10 years ago next i want to mention a recent job dave did for the lady 2 streets over from me that i called him on. she bakes cookies and other things for my special needs step brother and we all ways chat. several months back she mention oil burner furnace troubles ! her oil guy came out to service many times over the years well she still had troubles even after the furnace guy had just done a so called cleaning2 weeks ago,after talking to me many times about it she invited me to look at it,i know very little about this stuff but i wanted to see it any ways, first i was in shock there was a giant hole in the chimney from a prior furnace and some one put a metal dinner plate over it with twine but i guess it kept shifting every time the furnace kick on plus it was never enough to close and seal this hole ,i can't believe the fire dept. sign off on it or the furnace guy never said a thing about it ,he charged for a cleaning which he never did ! now i'm not the smartest man on the planet but i knew a giant hole in a chimney is not a good thing so i called dave for her ,he was out right away and showed us the furnace blockage was more then 80 percent choking the furnace not to mention the fire hazard and the health hazard ,black soot all threw the house and carbon and other crap the family had been breathing for years ! i could go on and on but i'm going to wrap it up now with the out standing patch job dave did to this chimney !!! not sure if this will let me post pics before and after of his work if not i will go and post to his web page if it lets me. dave will be sending one of his guys back to do a major cleaning and the lady is very impress ! dave has been doing this stuff sense high school, he is a very pleasant guy to talk to ,very honest and a hard worker very well train in your chimney sweep needs ....i'm hoping to buy a pellet stove soon and when i do i will hire dave to do the job.. i promise you will be more then happy with dave bancroft read more

SWEEPNMAN: Very disappointed with this chimney sweep service. 3 hour visit to clean fireplace chimney for $229. Was really a sales call to sell a half dozen options for liners, stoves, chimney caps and more "rotary brush" cleaning totaling nearly $18,000. All products Available through SWEEPNMAN's recommended retailer Yankee Fire in Middleton, MA. The most disturbing aspect was not learning the chimney needed a heavier rotary brush cleaning but the question of why isn't that a tool brought for the $229 chimney sweep cleaning appointment instead of a 2nd visit for 2-3 hours at $200. an hour. As a result my appointment resulted as advice to abandon my fireplace all together or to buy a spectrum of new products or pay up to $600.in a second appointment.that may or may not be successful according to the person who came to do the clean. Also of the 3 hours at my home nearly 45 min was the cleaning person sitting in his truck writing up in handwriting on a carbon work order all the product and cost options I need to consider to be on code. After the cleaning person left I inspected the fireplace damper up into the firebox and appeared barely touched. I scraped much lose material with a snow brush! The entire visit was an epic fail. This company lives up to the popular stereotype that chimney sweeps are notorious for pushing product using the cleaning visit as a sales lead tactic to do so.i will now begin searching for a 2nd and 3rd opinion as to how follow up on the cleaning needed. :( read more

This company was awesome. Can't remember who recommended them but what a find! My pellet stove had not been working for months and winter was coming fast. Dave Spurr came out to check it out. Found out it had a huge amount of soot inside because it had not been properly cleaned for years. My former husband did not know I guess that it needed routine maintenance. Apparently it was also a major fire hazard and out of compliance with current safety code. Dave was great in explaining this and showing everything to me. He also encouraged me to get a second opinion, but we set up an appointment to have the liner replaced and more cleaning done too. The other quote I got was way more money and I admit I did not have as confident a feeling about that company either. Dave and Scott came today to do the work. They found still more dangerous items inside the chimney and took care of everything. They were on time, so great about explaining everything, answered all my questions and did a fabulous job. I realize now how lucky we have been all these years not to have had a chimney fire. Clearly someone's been looking out for us. I would add to that that Dave and the Sweepnman company are too. Really terrific business. Would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat. Will be calling next year for maintenance to be sure. THANK YOU. read more

Called Sweepnman Chimney Sweeps for the first time. We had a blocked chimney and the system was back drafting into the basement. The office called me back quickly. They sent two techs out the same day. Troy and his tech came out and explained everything that was going on. They did a thorough job cleaning out the whole chimney. They sent a camera up the chimney to do an inspection. They found the chimney had no liner in it. They were really professional, polite and new what they were talking about. I would highly Recommend this company to anyone that has any issues with their chimney. Stan rebuilt our 300 year old chimney maintaining its historic look and much improved the functionality plus he installed a liner and cap system. We are now safe and ready for the winter season. I spoke to Dave on replacing my Chimney Chase Cover and he sent Brian out to give me a quote within the hour. Brian is very professional and I was very pleased to see him do the measurements twice so there would be no issue with the ordering of the chase cover. Brian set my expectation that the cover will be ordered and arrive in a couple of days and scheduled to be installed the following week. I was pleasantly surprised when Dave called me the very next day telling me they received the cover and Brian was back to my house within the hour installing the cover. Brian did an excellent job. Our home was impacted by the Columbia Gas Crisis and she was very sympathetic to the needs of our young family for heating alternatives. Dave was recommended to us by a neighbor, and we have been beyond pleased with his work not once, but twice. The first time around was rebuilding our dilapidated 260 year old chimney by carefully deconstructing and then reconstructing it using the same brick for historic accuracy. The second time, he pulled a miracle out of a hat and was able to run a pipe through a narrow, twisty, turn-y flue to hook up a wood stove for us. We live in a condo on the fourth floor. Our dryer is about 30 feet from the outside vent and had never been cleaned. Sounded like a fire hazard to me! I called Sweepnman. They were reasonably priced, professional and knowledgeable. They cleaned up after themselves and the added bonus to having the vent cleaned, is my laundry dries quicker, costing less in electricity. read more

These guys were amazing! We had them do a sweep and clean before the season and they were ok our roof blasting Xmas music...in late October early November. It just made our day. My chimney was not used by previous owners and was covered in soot and debris. They also checked the flue on the roof. They suggested work to be done.
