This is one of my favorite places to eat. They have an amazing turkey and cranberry sandwich (I love it on whole grain bread- the nuts on the huge slices of bread are perfect!) and walnut chocolate chip cookies that I pick up every time, and I my mom loves their lemon bars- she is hard to please and doesn't ask me for much at all, but she will request these lemon bars. Very cute location and the owner is there pretty often. He is a very good man and incredibly attentive and polite. There are some places I enjoy giving my money to, and this is one. I was happy to see it make it through the worst of the pandemic. I have tried just about all the pastries so I would say their huge croissants, walnut chocolate chip, bear claws, and wedding cookies have to be my favorites, but I will be trying their cakes very soon! read more

Omg they have the best turkey sandwich ever!!! Came here on a Thursday with my boyfriend. He ordered a veggie sandwich on a multigrain whole wheat bread, it came with lots of sprout and avocado, and there were hidden pumpkin seeds OMG so goooooood! He devoured that sandwich in 3 minutes and asked for another one with extra pickles. He was so full he couldn't even walk out the shop. I got the turkey sandwich and cranberry sauce on fresh baked multi grain whole wheat (they make their break in house) omg I literally swallowed everything in one bite. The staff here are very friendly and easy going. It was my birthday, and we got a red velvet cupcake, they went above and beyond and found me a candle. My boyfriend has no vocal so the staff here sang happy birthday with him to me. I feel so special will definitely return. P.S. they have really good lemon bar and almond brittle. My review is for the sandwiches and not other baked goods. My sandwich is amazing! The bread is soft and thick, plenty of toppings evenly distributed. I've never had a bad sandwich here. The lady behind the counter was very nice and made my sandwich very fast. I believe I also heard her right when she said you get a free drink with a sandwich on Mondays and Tuesdays. Awesome! The friendly cashier asked what I would like and I told her I decided on the apricot danish. That chick then tells me "they are buy one get one free, so what else would you like?". Damn her! This place is good, but it is most definitely not as good as A Sweet Affair. I came in with my best friend one morning and ordered a sandwich. I ordered the turkey on whole wheat, and since we were the only ones in the store, it came out incredibly fast, minus the sprouts because they were out. The sandwich was good. They have the same thick bread that A Sweet Affair does. Even though the sandwich was good, the place itself looked run down. The two people working that day also clearly did not want to be there since they both kept talking about it. This is my all time favorite bakery! I've been a huge fan of the turkey cranberry sandwich on sesame herb bread for 20 years!

I have patronized this bakery several times. The staff is not very friendly or welcoming. I don't exactly see a line out the door, so a repeat customer should be welcomed. After my last visit, I opened the bag and my brownie was a stale, hard corner piece. The brownie tray was half full and they gave me the corner piece! When I called them, the person who answered the phone did apologize. But, she did not offer me a free replacement. Why would I spend my money at a business that is not friendly when there are so many other options? I can see why so many small businesses fail. It's very simple...welcome your customers and provide quality service and products and you will have a thriving business. Don't do it and you will lose customers just as you have lost me! read more

I actually kind of like this place! It's just a typical old school, whole in the wall bakery with some surprisingly tasty pastries. The place isn't the most aesthetically pleasing, so don't expect much and they only have a minimal amount of pastries compared to others. I remember coming here a few times way back in the high school days, so while driving by on my way to work; I decided to pay them a visit. With my few recent visits and with the few items I have tried, they have actually been surprisingly tasty. My most recent trying was of one of there chocolate, chocolate cupcake and seriously, it was delicious! The frosting was sweet and had a rich, creamy, smooth consistency and the cake was moist with a settle sweetness. On my few visits I have also tried the samples of there Danishes and Bear Claws which were all quite good - The texture was soft and buttery and the flavor was sweet but not overbearingly sweet. My only disappointment was the Rum balls- The taste of rum was just overbearing and it almost had a refrigerated taste to it (Which didn't exactly win me over) but other than that, not bad. So as far as the pastries go, I would actually give them about 3.5 stars ( for the few that I have tried) There not destination point delicious and not as good as A Sweet Affair down the road, but there decent, good. What I really do love about this place (and which is why I added an extra star) is the exceptionally, genuine, friendly service that I have experienced the few times I have been in here(Which is always an extra bonus in my book). That being said, I will definitely visit again and probably try some of there sandwiches next time around. read more

Baked goodies galore is what it is. From cakes, brownies, breads, cookies and cupcakes, this place heaven for us sweets lovers. **I should've asked for one of their red velvet cupcakes, maybe next time** This spot is located in their mini Clayton shopping plaza, surrounded by lots of neighborhood stop shops for your everyday needs which means plenty of parking spaces available. It has a friendly cafe feel with a few tables and chairs if you decide to sit in and relax. This place is old school like me, the bakery has been around for 25 years. So....something very important for me...the restrooms..so..when I visit a mens restroom away from home the restroom is Edgar, well, here is where we have a problem...this was a unisex restroom, what shall I name the restroom? I am open to suggestions.. So whatever the name of the restroom is we are good to use the restroom whatever we decide to name the restroom. There are only a few tables so please keep that in mind. This place can be a hit or miss sometimes. However when you get them on a good day their desserts are delicious! Their chocolate chip cookies are chewy and gooey just like I love. It is very hard to find a cookie like this. They also have these delicous thumbprint cookies. Very disappointing pastries. The staff is great and are very helpful in choosing what dessert you want but after sampling a few, I dont think I would come back for more. The pastries are a bit dry in texture and way to sweet for my taste. I ordered a cherry turnover and the filling was way to sweet. I felt like the filling was from a can and they just added more sugar on top. I also had the red velvet cupcake which was sweet and dry. I needed a glass of milk to wash it down my throat! My regular neighborhood sandwich stop. They don't have a large selection of sandwiches as their main business is a bakery, but what they do offer is really good. As it is a bakery all their bread is made in house, and frankly the bread is a major reason I like their sandwiches so much. I regularly order the turkey, cranberry, avocado and cream cheese sandwich. I never would have guessed that cranberry and avocado would work well together, but it does. Like I've mentioned a few times the Sweet Cafe is mainly a bakery, so naturally they have a wide assortment of baked goods. Now I'm a far cry from a sweet tooth, but even I have to admit that their cookies are great, and the cakes look awesome (I've never tried one though). If you phone in a order you get a free cookie.
