We are vacationing here, and this coffee spot was close to our stay in Arvada. We ordered the pumpkin latte which was amazing! Flavorful and genuine but not too sweet. Enough said. We also tried the breakfast burrito, which was basically the only food item on the menu that wasn't fresh baked goods, but after trying that, who needs other food items? It was packed with veggies, spinach, salsa, potatoes, bacon and egg; super flavorful and not too watery as sometimes breakfast burritos can be if cooking up veggies for it. This quiet place is either good for doing work by yourself or chatting with a friend. The tables aren't scrunched together, so you have some privacy and room to breathe. Chill indie music is in the background so that while you take note of a song you like, it's not distracting. The coffee menu is small, yet it covers the basics: latte, macchiato, espresso, chai, etc. My latte was both beautiful and delicious. You can choose to sub soy or almond milk for an extra charge. The baked goods looked tasty, but I didn't try them. If you stay a while, you can stop by the bakery next door for a while. I chose this coffee spot to meet a friend who lives in Arvada. I want to like Two Rivers more than I do. If you're in the area, definitely stop by to try a few things and see if it's up your alley! Service and venue are very pleasant (although the one time I camped out with my laptop for a few hours, it got quite cold), and there's good kombucha on tap. However, their espresso drinks just don't fit my taste as much as other places* and the food items are prettier than they are tasty. The coffee here was great! Both my friend and I loved our drinks- he got an espresso type drink with biscotti; I got a mocha. My mocha was such a subtle chocolate flavor that I could enjoy the coffee, too. When we went, on a weekday morning, it was a little loud to expect to get much work done. I love this place. Everybody there is really cool and kind. The lady who took my order was kind and considerate, and helped me navigate the menu as a new coffee drinker. I personally find it intimidating to step into any coffee shop, and this place was no exception. There was one slightly uncomfortable interaction with the woman who made my drink, but I don't think anything was meant by it she just seemed tired. I also LOVE the decorations inside the shop. I like this place. They have good coffee/tea and good pastries. The decor inside is very cool - I particularly love the accent lights over their coffee bar. BUT I can't give more than 3 stars. Why? Because during the day, during the week, when a very, very high proportion of their customer base is business customers (myself included), I can't concentrate enough to work here because their music is blaring. I'm someone that never even notices the music at other cafes and every time I'm here, it's all I can even think about because it's so loud. I currently have headphones in and I still can't drown out the insanely loud music. Blare it on evenings/weekends - doesn't bother me. But at a cafe during the week - just turn it down. The waiting line makes no since (do you go outside, do you stand awkwardly by the counter and wait, do you form a line to the right; NO ONE knows!), the baristas/cashiers are mean AF (the fact that you are there is getting in the way of them exploring the ever expanding world of coffee knowledge; peasants like me and you are simply an inconvenience to this exploration), it takes FOREVER to get your coffee (my god they are slowwww; also, no time to smile or converse when they are busy brewing coffee...), Also this place is TINY (good luck finding a seat next to the 100 other people in there who think 2Rs is their own personal office), BUT BUT BUT 2 rivers has THE BEST COFFEE in the Denver area. Who knew you had to go all the way to the burbs of Arvada to get a decent cup of brown, but you will not be disappointed after you eventually get your fresh cup. Update- went in the other day and a customer clearly cut in front of me in line (once again the worst layout for a queue ever) then proceeded to order the most complicated order imaginable. I love this place. I think they've moved away from the single-pour options, but the airpots are surprisingly stellar. I'm a snob about the brew and I love their coffee; their pastries and snacks are equally delicious. Last time I was in for food, I had an unbelievable cup of coffee from the airpot, as well as a savoury breakfast roll that was incredible. Their burritos are also fresh and tasty. Like an idiot, I just took it cold and tried eating it in the car. Despite pitting this poor treat against all odds, it still stood up. I can only imagine how it must taste when you heat it properly, like a normal, functioning human being. Staff is patient, helpful, and friendly. I like the space too, although I have mixed experiences sitting outside (sometimes it's excessively windy on that side or too noisy). I was really bummed about moving out of Denver where there are so many local cafes and eateries to Westminster, where there are...less of these to say the least. I was worried I wouldn't ever find a new coffeehouse in my new neighborhood to work at, that is, until I discovered Two Rivers Coffee! I love this place because it appeals to a wide variety of audiences: coffee lovers, tea lovers, coffee snobs, foodies, work-from-homers, health nuts, kids, parents, old people, teenagers...you name it. Every time I work here, I'm very productive. There are plenty of tables and electrical outlets, which is my #1 issue with most cafes. One of my absolute favorite places; i love taking people here and SO gets their decaf whole beans regularly- one of the few places with really good decaf beans. I love their honey vanilla decaf oat lattes. Their seasonal specials are always interesting. Pastries are tasty; I don't personally like the savory croissant with the bacon but thats just me; the herb and fruit Danish are really good as are the raspberry coffee cakes. I found Two Rivers right after practicing yoga at a park nearby on a Saturday morning. I wanted a great coffee and a filling breakfast without spending less than $10. Found what I wanted! I had a one of their house blends (flavorful) and the veggie version of the breakfast burrito (they also had an oatmeal option and light pastries -- and I realized later you can order food from the bakery/sandwich shop next door!). Classy and Chilled out all at the same time. The decor is very European and instantly the smell invoked me. I ordered the cappuccino which only comes in one size but the employee right away offer to make it in a larger size if I would like. So amazing costumer skills and it never hurts that the men employees are all very attractive. They create art with the cream when ordering your coffee and it is very picture worthy. Patio seating is available as well as large group tables. A lot of natural lighting and very clean. Definitely returning. The cappuccino had a fresh roasted taste and major jolt of energy. read more
