I was walking to a friend's place and saw this place on the way there - definitely a pleasant surprise to see a bubble tea shop in East Boston! There was one other party there when I walked in, but the wait wasn't too long. Their menu has a decent selection so it took me a moment to decide what I wanted too. The person working behind the counter was really friendly and pleasant to interact with. I settled with a mango milk tea and honestly, the tea itself was great. I enjoyed the flavor, a good mix of mango and milk tea, but the toppings were a little soft. The bubbles were just a little too chewy to my taste and my friend agreed. The restaurant was closing within an hour or two of when I went though, so it was probably their last batch. Overall, if I'm ever in the area again, I wouldn't mind coming back. Popped into here after grabbing dinner nearby. Establishment is clean and relatively small. My friends ordered a matcha smoothie and oolong milk tea while I had the strawberry fruit tea. We also shared an order of the puff waffles with condensed milk. Drinks were good along with quality boba texture. Waffle was on the dry side even with the condensed milk so I would suggest getting with ice cream if you have stomach space for it which we did not. Overall good experience but would be interested in trying other boba spots if nearby. read more

I came here multiple times for bubble tea and macaroons. Their coffee boba and taro with lychee jelly were favorites. I really loved their pistachio macaroons in particular, they have a very strong nutty flavor and are covered with pistachio chunks all along the outside. Finally a boba place in East Boston! I was driving by when I spotted this place and had to stop by to try it. The shop has a cute interior and is fairly small. They sell a variety of boba and also macarons. I got their jasmine milk green tea with black boba, half sugar, and regular ice. I was able to taste the jasmine green tea in the drink which I liked since a lot of places often add too much milk. The boba was chewy and had good texture to them. The drink itself ran a little on the sweeter side even with 50% sweetness, but the owners were really accommodating and offered to remake my drink if I didn't enjoy it. Sweet Boba had good prices as well, a regular sized drink without toppings was $3.75. Overall I'm really pumped to have a boba place in East Boston and hope that these guys stick around! read more

Sweet Boba truly couldn't be any better. Eastie is hashtag blessed. East Boston has NO bubble tea - it's a shame. I normally order Happylemon on Postmates (small boba, smaller menu, but the only ones who deliver) or schlep all the way to Chinatown for Tea Do / Kung Fu / Chatime. Until Sweet Boba! Sweet Boba has a giant menu of fruit teas, milk teas, and smoothies, along with shaved ice and egg puff waffles too (YUM). Their boba, both in the morning and evening is consistently chewy and large, and they have tons of toppings from jellies to popping boba. Each tea is put into a shaker and sealed, which is always an indicator that it's a legitimate tea house with good tea. I take boba very seriously... I drink 250-300 teas each year and am obsessed with the stuff. Trust me, Sweet Boba is the real deal. I've gotten 5 flavors so far and they're all phenomenal. The honeydew milk tea + lychee fruit teas are the best. The staff is super nice and friendly, the interior has lovely painted murals, and the best part, they have loyalty punch cards, buy 10 get 1 free. There isn't a seating area, just a counter, but maybe they'll put in some stools in the future. Park in the Walgreens or Marshalls / CVS lot for free. It's a win win. YUM. Some of the best prices I've seen for Boba, under $4 for a smoothie, not including the boba. That's a great deal, and there's a nicely sized menu to go with it! Unfortunately, I took some stars off for timing. It took over 15 minutes to get my smoothie, and that's just too long. I'd rather pay more money to get another person making bobas for timing purposes. I got a Passionfruit Smoothie (think, icee) with boba, the boba tasted delicious. I live a little ways away from Sweet Boba and always look forward to walking home from Maverick and stopping by for a drink if I'm feeling down. The service is always really fast and every worker has been kind to me. I particularly like to get the banana milk tea (since it reminds me of banana milk, which I love). When I get their fruit teas, I opt for 50% or 70% sugar since they're really sweet. I've ordered a coconut smoothie from them before, and it was filled to the top (with the bubble lid on) and completely worth it-- and I plan to get more smoothies now that it's hotter out. I've also gotten an egg waffle from them (and I love that they have egg waffles here because they're hard to find outside of Chinatown-- you can't even find them in Allston!) and it was good. Basically what you'd expect from an egg waffle. The value you get for your drinks is great, especially compared to other bubble tea shops in Boston, and it's the only bubble tea place (that I know of) in East Boston. Happy it's here! read more

The guy who takes the orders and makes the drinks is very nice and always greets each customer when they walk. I'm not a huge fan of the drinks and the boba though. The boba is a bit hard and has no flavor. I went twice and got the fruit teas, but I found the tea to be overwhelming and I got very little hints of the flavor of the drink I ordered; the lychee and the longan teas tasted no different to me. Finding a local boba shop in Central Square of Eastie was such a wonderful blessing for my partner and I. Great variety of drinks (more than some of the larger chains in Boston) and I especially have a soft spot for the smoothies. The staff is friendly and helpful, they always check to make sure the sweetness level is alright because we tend to order 30% or 50% sweetness. This is an off version of the sweet bobas and waffles in downtown the drinks weren't bad but the wait time and the quality of the waffles were just not it it was very dry and just overall not good wouldn't recommend if your looking for a good waffle read more

I go to Sweet Boba every other day! I love this place and glad it's right in East Boston! I have a few favorite drinks here. They are brown sugar milk tea with black boba, strawberry lemonade with lychee jelly, and avocado smoothie with black boba. Their black boba are well made. I'll start by saying I was very excited for Sweet Boba to open! The customer service was fantastic. Each worker was incredibly helpful and kind. I ordered a bubble milk tea. It was decent. Unfortunately, their milk teas are made with powder.. but it was still pretty good -- just not super flavorful! I tried a mango fruit tea on the way out that was super yummy though.
