You know when you look forward to something and when you get there, they somehow manage to exceed your expectations? Well, this place does. And I would attribute that to the team working there. Before you even walk in, you can smell the donuts outside. When you walk in, you are met with a fairly large space to accommodate a small retail area in one corner, games and seating in two other corners, and the counter display in the final corner. We were helped right away by a lady who basically knew what I was going to ask before I did. I appreciated how helpful she was. We ordered 2 donuts (I got one of their cronuts or "square donuts") and 2 breakfast burritos to go. The donuts were excellent - fresh and warm. The cronut was crunchy on the outside and soft inside and the sugar glaze sweetened it up. The breakfast burritos had a variety of ingredients that were nicely balanced. Highly recommend! read more

This is definitely better than city market donuts. However when I went there was absolutely no prices displayed. The apple cider came from one of those packets you get at city market but I payed $4, if I knew it was that kind of apple cider and not like from a jug I would've have gotten it. read more

Best donuts in the world! Amazing and huge breakfast sandwiches! And super friendly staff and owner. Came in for a couple dozen for my friends at work, and also to rock the delicious sausage egg and cheese English muffin breakfast sandwich (sorry McDs, you cannot touch this sandwich!) While I was waiting on my sandwich to be wrapped up and paying, the cool ass owner handed me a sugar coated plain donut fresh out of the oven and it was a little piece of heaven. read more

What a great experience all around! The donuts are huge and insanely fresh and tasty. But the best part of this place is the vibe. The staff is so fun and friendly. Our daughters just got their Junior ranger badges and they congratulated them with free chocolate milk and an extra donut. They really engaged with the kids and were super friendly and fun with us. Haven't been here since it was still Daylight Donuts. After my granddaughter's graduation from CMU, I decided to pop in. The combination of a croissant and a donut puzzles me, so I ordered a maple with a bacon strip (which they charge you extra for) and a strawberry cronut. Both were delicious, but the maple would have been better without the bacon strip. I was caught off guard by how messy and crumbly the donuts were. Careful when you eat them in your car as I did. The dirty chai I ordered was hot, but middle of the road as far as taste. The grand total came out to $15, and unfortunately didn't see any kind of pricing anywhere. But then again I didn't have my reading glasses with me. Despite this, the lady at the front counter was super sweet and helpful with all my questions. Will be back again in the future. read more

A seemingly artisanal doughnut shop, serving up foodstagramming tourist fare that looks amazing, but unfortunately doesn't quite live up to the hype. Came in mid-morning on a Saturday, and it was packed. No seating, no parking. Mini-golf and merch seems to taken over all of the seating that Daylight Doughnuts used to have. Staff was unbelievably helpful and friendly. For whatever reason, the establishment is not transparent with their pricing. Nothing is marked in the case, there is no menu or pricing posted on the wall and their online menu doesn't include pricing. If you've got allergies, well... yeah. We tried a few variations of the croughnut and rather than being crispy & flaky, found them to be cold, chewy and stale. I suspect these are not made in-house or they are trucked in from elsewhere, but that is just an assumption. Everyone in our party agreed: they looked amazing but tasted worse than a grocery store doughnut. This is definitely an "Emperor Wears No Clothes" situation, but several other people were throwing away croughnuts with two bites taken out of them. Maybe the regular baker was on vacation, but for artisanal pricing I expect artisanal quality. I might go back someday, but it won't be for awhile. Hopefully by then they'll have taken feedback and ironed out their issues. read more

I love Sweet Coloradough and their Cronuts are to die for. The shop in Glenwood has heart and soul. The shop in Eagle is kinda like a gas station to go vibe. I just don't think that this location is a good fit for Grand Junction. It feels overly large and sterile inside despite the efforts with the exterior murals. Parking is a cluster at times. The price point is high but then they throw in random free stuff. How about lower the prices instead of giving me an extra 1000 calories in my bag I didn't ask for? Quality of the Cronuts aren't as good here- not sure if the elevation is different or it's a different baker, but they are pretty flat and doughy in comparison to the other shops. I think they need to update their model for this location to succeed. Down valley is different, especially in terms of both tourism and disposable income. Daylight donuts cost half of what these donuts do and I don't taste the justification. I gave up after the second time getting doughy flat Cronuts. Nice people though! read more

Happy to learn they've expanded to Grand Junction. I'm from Ohio so I don't get to come that often for this place and it can be frustrating when they're closed but happy to learn Glenwood Springs and Grand Junction are open pretty much on the regular. They do have one in Rifle and Eagle but only open on 2-3 days. Their glazed donuts are really good, melt in your mouth! The service was nice and friendly! Their donuts and especially their cronuts are absolutely amazing. We are so lucky that they chose to expand to Grand Junction. The service is top notch and extremely friendly. If you are indecisive they will steer you in the right direction based upon your likes and dislikes. The ambiance is very inviting with a large open space that provides lots of room in-between tables. I love to treat my friends, family and coworkers with their love and passion that they put into their pastries. read more

Pretty expensive and disappointing. The shop has a large selection of oversized doughnuts and cronuts. Everything looked less fresh than your local grocery store, so it was hard to pick one that looked good. It was also hard to pick because there are literally no menus or signs or prices anywhere. I assume they don't put the prices up on purpose, but they could at least put a menu up somewhere or label what in the displayed in the case. You have to ask about each specific doughnut flavor if you want to know what you are going to buy and they didn't even know what flavors they were. "I think that one is orange" is what I was told. I was just guessing flavors and it seems like they were too. I ordered a breakfast burrito and was asked if I want salsa and sour cream, I said whatever comes with it. Each of those ended up being a separate fifty cent charge, so those don't come with it and the salsa is just regular Pace picante jar salsa. They throw the burrito in the microwave right in front of you, at least if you're going to microwave premade burritos do it in the back so it seems freshly made. Turns out the breakfast is $11 plus the non included $1 Pace salsa and sour cream. The food didn't taste bad but wasn't anything to ever spend money on again. They are charging glenwood springs tourist prices when they are on North Ave in Grand Junction. Bummer, I was excited to try out this new location until I did. read more

Don't waste your time on them square donuts their dough was layered like baklava not soft and chewy. It was like eating a piece of beef jerky and the flavor wasn't very good for four dollars a donut they are definitely not worth it now they do have a good donut in therethe traditional that she gave me after I bought two of them for eight dollars definitely not worth it!! I got to the store when it opened at 5:30. The cases were full and the donuts looked great. I got some raised donuts and some cake donuts. When I got home, I was surprised the donuts were cold. The cake donuts tasted greasy and being cold did not help. The raised donuts did not taste as bad but I was surprised. It was like the oil was not fresh. I've been to the store in glenwood springs and remember the donuts being better. This location is new so maybe it will get better. service was great. I don't go to a donut shop for ambience but the places was clean. read more
