Yummy ice cream. I've always enjoyed the ice cream I've had here. But for some reason I just don't get that excited about their flavors as I do at other crafty ice cream shops. For example, last time I had the Grand Marnier Chocolate Chip because I liked the idea of Grand Marnier, but then the chocolate chip kind of left me disappointed. We came here with a group, I thought ice cream would be fun but it seemed like the only people who were even slightly kind to us were the young kids working in here. The adults including the manager were extremely rude. I finally got my ice cream and it tasted great. After quiet a few bites I found a piece of a plastic bag in my ice cream. I went to pull it out and it was actually a really big piece! Enough to hard someone if eaten. When I was saying goodbye to my friends I accidentally tapped an adult customer with stuffed wings I was wearing very gently and she complained to the manager. The manager then yelled at me for tapping her lightly with the equivalent of a stuffed animal, by accident! I am extremely unsatisfied. read more

Since I could not see the ice cream as it is not visible in the store, I was surprised at how many chocolate covered espresso beans there were in the ice cream and how little coffee ice cream there was. This is about a buck cheaper than glacier down the road, and you will not go wrong either way, but literally having the two back to back, I would say check out Glacier first. read more

Oh Sweet Cow, how I adore you so... I frequent their Louisville location quite often, so I was excited when I remembered there was a Boulder location. It's located on this super cute strip decked out in these lights. ANYWAY - Sweet Cow. Their Banana & Nutella ice cream is DELICIOUS and there's actual pieces of banana in it. I'm also a huge fan of their Butter Pecan and even though I have a slight pecan allergies, it's worth it for me every time. I wasn't a huge fan of the York Peppermint Patty because it just had this weird aftertaste I couldn't put my finger on and the Almond Joy flavor was too artificial according to my friend. I had never heard of this place before yesterday. My friend took me here and let me first say, THEY HAD PRETZEL CONES. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw them... Such a great idea!! The place is clean, the staff is very nice, and the ice cream is a taste of heaven. I had one scoop of the Oatmeal Cookie and one scoop of the Nilly Vanilla (vanilla with bits of nilla wafers) and both were amazing. We happened on this one after a dinner on Broadway the other night and the word that comes to mind is "delightful!" As we came in it was quiet, but soon filled up with a couple of families and us, and the hilarious staff coaxed us all to come on up and ask questions and get samples. They were soon serving 10 of us at once with skill and smiles. I felt like my bf and I took a long time and several samples to hone in on what we wanted but they were good humored about it. I settled on a double scoop in a cup - Maple Bacon and Super Delicious Vanilla. First of all, that Vanilla is nothing to sneeze at. It is true to it's name. And the Maple Bacon is a thing of art and beauty. My bf got the Fruity Pebbles and the Vanilla and was just as happy as I was! Loved the set up of the place; simple, clean and an airy atmosphere. The staff were very prompt and helpful. Their waffle cones looked delicious so I indulged with a scoop if oatmeal cookie (absolutely delicious) and strawberry (pretty tasty). The waffle cone was okay, not probably worth the extra money as it was lacking some flavor. My girlfriend went for the root beer float. I of course had a taste. The presentation was neat with a scoop of vanilla ice cream over the rim. However, the flavor was a let down, bland and pure sugar. Ice cream is always the best. They make a mean milkshake but you can tell they aren't too happy about it when they do have to make it! Some top flavors off the top of my head are the honey mint, cinnamon chocolate, Banana nutella, York peppermint Patty, fruity pebbles, Banana chocolate chip, the regular vanilla, and strawberry chocolate. They typically have 8-10 everyday flavors and another 8-10 rotating ones. From what I can tell, some of the flavors are seasonal, some are rotated out monthly, and some are rotated weekly. Point is, if they don't have it today, they probably will next week. Plus, they've stayed open late for me after showing up 5-10 minutes after close and the waffle cones are good. I've always loved the Sweet Cow in Louisville and their ice cream truck -- now they have a shop DANGEROUSLY close to my house!! We went recently just before they closed at 9 pm on a Thursday, but the employees were friendly and welcoming. Their prices are totally reasonable for a scoop shop of such high quality -- we got a packed pint to go for $4.25. Their cookies n' cream is literally the best cookies n' cream I've ever had in my entire life. I can't wait for summer to arrive so I can ride my bike over and enjoy a cone outside -- or two!! Love the ice cream! Have had a couple good experiences in the past month (because hardly anyone was there when I went), but this afternoon was my last visit for awhile. It's summer, so the place is mobbed. There are no clear instructions about where to line up; in fact, those of us who had ordered online were jammed up at the door with groups who were ordering at the door. There were people who weren't wearing masks and were acting like they had never heard of social distancing. An out-of-control situation like that will not work for me, and since Sweet Cow is a guilty pleasure rather than a necessity, I'll give it up for the foreseeable future. read more

I ordered two ice cream cakes for a party today and everything was really delicious. We had the banana-nutella-chocolate with chocolate cake (definite winner) and cookies and cream with vanilla pound cake. In retrospect I probably would have jazzed up the vanilla cake a little more but it was for a group so I wanted to stay safe.
