I'm partial to their coffee ice-cream so often get that but their specialty flavors are worth trying- cinnamon horchata was delicious. If lactose doesn't love you, the sorbets are quite good as well. We are regular customers of this location because the ice cream is quality and the staff are, too! The location is also prime, right on old Pearl St. Everyone is super friendly, courteous, and they remember us. The ice cream selection is perfect - they have the staples all the time and have enough flavors that they rotate in to keep it interesting. The ice cream always has a wonderful, creamy flavor. Our favorites are the peppermint, earl grey cookie, and cookie dough (among others, of course!). We've tried many other ice cream joints in the area and Sweet Cow has yet to be beat. read more

My best friend and I walked here from our air bnb and we loved it! I'm the person at the ice cream place that tries a bunch of the flavors and then chooses a random one that I didn't try . The staff was very nice and they have a good amount of sorbet options for people that can't or choose not to eat dairy. All my dreams come true. This is exactly what the Platt Park neighborhood was missing, now I am complete! The ice cream is of course delicious, but the staff is also kind. My silly husband walked the kids down to ice cream the other day with only his AMEX in hand (he knows better given that most small businesses don't take AMEX). He got all the way through the line, ice cream in hand and realized he couldn't use his only form of payment. The employee told him not to worry about it and that it was his gift to our kiddo's. My daughter and I just ate there, and oh my, this is good ice cream! I tried the coconut cream pie, the candied ginger and the cookies and cream. They were all delicious, but the coconut cream pie is to die for. Nice, friendly vibe too. We can't wait to go back and try some of their other flavors, as there are so many that sound delicious. Oh my goodness, I could go on and on about this place. The whole store set up was awesome, organized, and really clean. As a vegan, I had tons of options (all of their sorbets are vegan), which is quite a rare situation for me to be in at most ice cream shops. I'd really recommend the chai sorbet or the moojito sorbet! They use Bhakti chai (brewed in Boulder) for the chai sorbet, and I could literally taste the fresh mint in the moojito one. Seriously SO delicious. Also, all of their cups and spoons and such are compostable, which is amazing. They also let me use my own glass jar that I brought instead of wasting another cup! I will definitely be returning. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful as well. They immediately offered to let me sample flavors, and were incredibly fast and efficient at completing my order. So friendly, so delicious, and so amazing. read more

There is a great taco place a few blocks from here and my friends took me to Sweet Cow and WOW, it is so good. I love their cookie butter so much. Generally my guilty pleasure is Sweet Action in Downtown Denver but this place is its rival. This afternoon my husband and I went in to Sweet Cow to grab a quick dessert. I got the Dutch Chocolate and my husband got the Reeses. The Reeses was thick and well balanced and the Dutch Chocolate was decadent and smooth. The ice cream was certainly delicious and isn't the only game in the neighborhood but our loyalty was solidified by our interaction today with the young woman running the cashier. It was clear to us that Sweet Cow is interested in being a staple to the community and not just another business--and that's exactly the type of business we love spending our money with. I've made several visits to this particular Sweet Cow location and I agree with others that say it is top notch. Great ice cream, and great service. I'm an especially big fan of the home made ice cream sandwiches and the milkshakes. I probably don't need to say too much more about the food here, I mean it's ice cream. The service is great - they let you taste as many flavors as you like. The other day I ordered a sundae and they were temporarily out of whipped cream. I said I'd wait the 10 minutes (it's freshly whipped) and I was compensated the sundae - even when I tried to insist on paying! So far the crowds have been light but I anticipate that changing as the weather warms up. That won't keep me away though! Glad to have a place like this in the neighborhood. read more

Let me start by saying I'm a huuuge Sweet Cow fan. The oatmeal cookie flavor changed my life and is the reason why I no longer visit other local ice cream spots (like Sweet Action and Little Man). However, something happened recently which has impacted my view of this place for the worse I'm afraid. My husband and I picked up pints this week to take home. Naturally, I went for the oatmeal cookie because DUH it's amazing. I couldn't wait to dig in! As I began eating, I started finding pieces of cookie dough and chocolate chips mixed in. Ordinarily, I'm all about cookie dough, but it was a let down because all I wanted (and ordered) was oatmeal cookie. Beyond that, the mix wasn't very good to be honest. But, hey - no big deal right? I figured I'd call and just let them know that something weird happened to that mix. When I called to let them know I thought something had gone weird with their batch, I was quickly informed that it happens all the time... wait... what?? Apparently, they don't rinse out their mixer fully before making a new flavor. Again... what?? So, the first batch of a new flavor almost always has another flavor mixed in. There are a few things that concern me about this: (1) When you order 1 ice cream flavor, that is the flavor you want. Not two flavors mixed together. The person on the phone made it sound like I should have appreciated my ice cream no matter what it turned out like. Seriously? What happened to good customer service? A simple: "We're sorry that happened and thanks for letting us know" would have been enough. (2) People with allergies are at risk eating ice cream here. If their flavors are laced with other flavors, it's a lawsuit (or allergic reaction) waiting to happen... Definitely disappointed in what I learned about Sweet Cow this week. Bummer. read more

We stopped by the Platte Park location a couple of weeks ago after dinner to celebrate a birthday. I had a scoop of B is for Brownie and Almond Joy. I consider myself to be a serious ice cream connoisseur and the Almond Joy was the best coconut ice cream I ever had! There was plenty of coconut and chocolate covered almond chunks along with the creamy coconut base! I just kept thinking "Wow" this is really life-changing! The staff was also very personable.
