Oh, how I love desserts. This cute shop has more than just chocolates so don't let the name deceive you. I found chocolates, cookies, brittle, speeds, jams and jellies and so much more. There are even little cakes. Think miniature cake for 1. Maybe 1 and a half. I really wanted a slice of cake but the slices available that day had a fruit/preserve filling (just not into the fruit in my cakes). The store was empty but I think this was late morning and before the lunch crowd. We ordered cookies (cranberry oatmeal and white chocolate macadamia nut) and ordered a couple of cupcakes. The cookies were delicious and we devoured the cranberry oatmeal while driving Service was great and prices seemed about average for boutique cupcakes. The one downside? The cupcakes have cute names like "Coconut Chanel") but cupcakes are not in the display case. Instead, there are placards with the name of the cupcake and then they are brought out and packaged for you. I like looking at cupcakes and I was robbed of that little joy. Also, the lack of names made it difficult to determine what the cupcakes were when we got back home. Perfect amount of icing in each bite and a nice, soft cake. All in all, though, a wonderful experience and I'll certainly go back again. read more

This is a cute chocolate store located in downtown St. Petersburg. In addition to Belgian chocolate they sell cupcakes and muffins, ice cream. specialty coffee and teas, champagne and wine, flowers, cards, and gifts. I first came by on the night of Valentines Day after dinner looking for chocolate dipped strawberries. They had them but my friend was a bit mixed up on the time. She thought they closed at 9 but it was at 8. We arrived a few moments too late. I wanted to look through the window to see what they had and if it was worth coming back the next day. As I was peering in the woman working called out we are closed. I hadn't seen anything yet so I looked a little more and then she called out again in a rude tone of voice we are closed! No problem, I stepped away. I hadn't touched the door, I only looked through the window. I worked retail for many years. Yes, it is annoying when customers come in close to closing but the door was locked. I wasn't coming in and I would never yell at a potential customer. After that I went around the corner and got the chocolate covered strawberries I wanted at Kilwins who was more than happy to take my money and they were delicious. The next day we happened to be driving by on our way out of town and as we passed by there just happened to be a spot right in front of the store. My friend still wanted to check them out so we parked and went in. Wouldn't you know it, who was working but the same woman who yelled at me! My friend made her purchase and I spotted a cute tin of vanilla fudge that said thanks for watching my dog. I purchased it as a gift for the person who took care of my dogs and I also purchased a piece of cashew and pistachio bark which I ate and it was fine. When I got home I gave the candy tin to it's recipient who opened it, tried one, commented unfavorably, and left it behind when they left! It's still sitting in the living room. If I came back to St. Petersburg and wanted chocolate I would stick with Kilwins. read more

EDIT: The chocolates are in fact not fine. At least one (and, judging by the taste, likely more than one ) was full of mold. See attached photos. The chocolates are fine. The woman running the store was incredibly, incredibly rude. I suppose I should have listened to all the other reviews that said she was. I was came for coffee, but then saw the beautiful selection of tea. It was lovely tea, and rather expensive, so I wanted to look at all of them before selecting. While shopping I went to the restroom. Maybe three minutes later the clerk knocks on the door asking me "if I'm ok". Bizarre, but alright. I leave, and come back out, where she has her arms folded and is glaring daggers at me. She then demands to know if there's "anything I can help you with in MY store???" I'm taken aback, but know escalating the situation with people like this is pointless. I'm sure she thought I was stealing because I had my backpack with me (I had thought they had proper interior seating and was planning to work and have a few coffees). So I made my purchases very uncomfortably, and left. Will definitely never be back, and recommend if you do go, you buy what you want and get out fast, before she decides you too are a menace to her inventory. read more

The cutest confectionery! We tried the ice cream and a cupcake. Delicious! I really wanted to take some chocolates to go but we were walking around downtown and I didn't want them to melt. The ice cream is made in house and we had ours served on fresh waffle cones. The cupcakes had the cutest names. Mine was served on a cute plate and silver platter. Loved it! What an adorable store! So glad we stumbled onto it. We ended up just getting a chocolate-covered Oreo ($1!), 1 raspberry chocolate and 1 key lime chocolate. The key lime was my personal favorite - so full of flavor and the key lime came through strong, but not overwhelming. They were all good and the prices are reasonable. I bought the peanut butter chocolate cupcake. $3.25 price is about average. The flavor of the peanut butter frosting was delightful. How're the texture was gritty. The cupcake itself was dry and stale. I just moved a few blocks away so I am really disappointed with how bad this cupcake was overall . I went for the dark chocolate amaretto rope and a milk chocolate champagne cork. Both of my little treats were delicious and tasted like the amaretto and champagne that their names promised. Something I love about this place is that the chocolate is priced by weight, not by the piece. That being said, as long as you're not going for the heaviest items there, you can get a lot of bang for your buck. Heaven on earth! Yes, I did just say it. Any chocoholic must frequent this facility if they are anywhere near St. Petes. After coming here for the Cash Mob, I have been back twice now. it is that good. I also intend to take any family or friends that visit to come here too. Love it that much. Here is why: 1. The lady working the register patiently dealt with 50 mobbers one by one and when I made it to the counter, she got me my chocolate selections and put them in a cute wrapped bag. Each additional time I've gone I have had the exact same wonderful service. Always sweet, helpful and professional. 2. Champagne shooters are given away here. Seriously! You can get a free shooter when purchasing. Amazing! 3. The chocolate is phenomenal! My favorite two items are the white chocolate with macadamia nuts and carmel, and the chocolate covered bacon. I need to express the joy Christy from Sweet Divas brought me after a huge issue I had with a wedding cake. I had a destination wedding and strangely thought it would be a good idea to transport a cake from Fort Lauderdale to St. Pete. The cake I purchased in Fort Lauderdale practically fell apart during the drive due to outside temperatures, humidity, and just a long drive. I called the bake shop and the owner Christy told me to drop the cake off by 11 p.m. and she would do everything she could. My wedding was the next morning at 10 a.m. with a noon reception. We didn't even stay two minutes because her behavior was repulsive. My friend and I just walked in and asked about the cupcakes, as we were first time customers. Rachel just points from behind the counter and we laugh and ask where they are located again as we can't see them. She gets snotty and points AGAIN and we finally figure out that she's point at PHOTOS of cupcakes that were right in front of her on the counter, not behind us as we were led to believe. I went in here to get some hot chocolate and a few small treats, and one of the owners was truly a sweet diva. She answered my questions, told us about her place, and she glowed so brightly letting us know how everything was in the shop. I had a tina Turner Toffee cupcake that was truly the best that I have ever tasted. She had said that she had won an award for her cupcakes for one of them. I forget which one it was. I feel like her cupcakes have the usual cupcakes that people want to see, and the original ones that you can not get everywhere. That is what I loved the most. I also got a chocolate turtle that my mom said tasted heavenly and a hot chocolate. I sat outside with my puppy and my husband under nice umbrellas. It's a great location to view how wonderful and pretty downtown St. Petersburg is.
