This is a cute chocolate store located in downtown St. Petersburg. In addition to Belgian chocolate they sell cupcakes and muffins, ice cream. specialty coffee and teas, champagne and wine, flowers, cards, and gifts. I first came by on the night of Valentines Day after dinner looking for chocolate dipped strawberries. They had them but my friend was a bit mixed up on the time. She thought they closed at 9 but it was at 8. We arrived a few moments too late. I wanted to look through the window to see what they had and if it was worth coming back the next day. As I was peering in the woman working called out we are closed. I hadn't seen anything yet so I looked a little more and then she called out again in a rude tone of voice we are closed! No problem, I stepped away. I hadn't touched the door, I only looked through the window. I worked retail for many years. Yes, it is annoying when customers come in close to closing but the door was locked. I wasn't coming in and I would never yell at a potential customer. After that I went around the corner and got the chocolate covered strawberries I wanted at Kilwins who was more than happy to take my money and they were delicious. The next day we happened to be driving by on our way out of town and as we passed by there just happened to be a spot right in front of the store. My friend still wanted to check them out so we parked and went in. Wouldn't you know it, who was working but the same woman who yelled at me! My friend made her purchase and I spotted a cute tin of vanilla fudge that said thanks for watching my dog. I purchased it as a gift for the person who took care of my dogs and I also purchased a piece of cashew and pistachio bark which I ate and it was fine. When I got home I gave the candy tin to it's recipient who opened it, tried one, commented unfavorably, and left it behind when they left! It's still sitting in the living room. If I came back to St. Petersburg and wanted chocolate I would stick with Kilwins.

Loved this place! The tea was so good, I bought some to make at home. And it was served so nicely!

Great cakes with excellent service. Ordered a small cake for hubby with chocolate and peanut butter. The cake was ready for pick up with no fuss or mistake. They offer so much more there. Enjoy!

Sweet Divas in Vinoy Park, Downtown At. Pete. First time here and my daughter was dying to come in and try their ice cream flavors. She ended up getting the chocolate peanut butter and very vanilla topped with chocolate sprinkles in a small cup. She loved how creamy and smooth in texture the ice cream was.

I got five flavors. My favorites are Mandarin orange pineapple, strawberry shortcake, and red raspberry. Butterscotch Caramel Sea Salt was good with the salty contrast. I didn't like the coconut cream since there was a bitter taste to it. The server/cashier was kind and friendly. There are lots of other sweets, drinks, and products to purchase.

Just moved to the city. This is 2 blocks away. A problem has developed. I am now addicted to their cupcakes. They best I've ever had. The Sir Oreo Elton John and the Carmel Electra are amongst my faves. But the ice cream? Next level. The chocolates. Delectable. You MUST try this place. So cute! And they love my Dog! Best ever!

Amazing ice cream and a wide selection of fresh and beautiful looking chocolate choices. While all that was awesome I loved the homemade cake pops! Friendly customer service & street parking was pretty easy to find!

EDIT: The chocolates are in fact not fine. At least one (and, judging by the taste, likely more than one ) was full of mold. See attached photos. The chocolates are fine. The woman running the store was incredibly, incredibly rude. I suppose I should have listened to all the other reviews that said she was. I was came for coffee, but then saw the beautiful selection of tea. It was lovely tea, and rather expensive, so I wanted to look at all of them before selecting. While shopping I went to the restroom. Maybe three minutes later the clerk knocks on the door asking me "if I'm ok". Bizarre, but alright. I leave, and come back out, where she has her arms folded and is glaring daggers at me. She then demands to know if there's "anything I can help you with in MY store???" I'm taken aback, but know escalating the situation with people like this is pointless. I'm sure she thought I was stealing because I had my backpack with me (I had thought they had proper interior seating and was planning to work and have a few coffees). So I made my purchases very uncomfortably, and left. Will definitely never be back, and recommend if you do go, you buy what you want and get out fast, before she decides you too are a menace to her inventory.

The cutest confectionery! We tried the ice cream and a cupcake. Delicious! I really wanted to take some chocolates to go but we were walking around downtown and I didn't want them to melt. The ice cream is made in house and we had ours served on fresh waffle cones. The cupcakes had the cutest names. Mine was served on a cute plate and silver platter. Loved it! We sat outside to enjoy our treats. Perfect view and nice location. Everyone that worked here when we came in was very nice too and didn't mind answering any questions we had about their offerings. A must visit if you are downtown in this area.

Service is good but the price was just too high for just a cappuccino, bottled water and two pieces of chocolate ran me $20.

We ordered two large coffees, two ham, egg, and cheese open-faced croissants, and a blueberry scone. I wasn't used to having a breakfast sandwich served open-faced, but I'm officially a fan now. The croissant was flaky, buttery, and paired perfectly with the ham, egg, and cheese. Every bite was delicious. The coffee was exactly what we needed to start the morning, and everything together made for a fantastic breakfast. If you're looking for a cozy spot with fresh pastries, great coffee, and a relaxing way to start your weekend, this is definitely worth a visit.

I came up Cassis Market advertising pizza so I popped in and ordered on with pepperoni, sausage and ham. One slice came to nearly $7. The man behind the counter was polite but uninterested. He looked like he wished he could be anywhere but there. I took my pizza out to eat at their outside table. I took a bite. Man was it stiff. And that was at the point where it's usually the best part. I kept eating and crunching. No moisture at all. Some flavor but not enough to justify the cost or enduring the hardness. The ham was hard. The pepperoni was all curled up and looked overcooked. The sausage was just OK. I was hungry but I left half of it and threw it in the trash. It sat in my stomach like I had swallowed an anvil. Now I must say I selected this from a whole pizza in the display case. It was not a piece that had been lingering there for a long time. My slice was the first slice from the pie so I was taken aback by it's texture and hardness. Cassis Market - NOT recommended.

I arrived around 2:20 p.m. and was let in by a worker at the front door, who told me they were closing shortly and suggested I head to the deli first if that was what I wanted. Once I walked in, however, a cashier yelled to me that they were closed. I was a little confused because I had just been let in by a worker who knew I was coming inside. From there, the experience felt a bit chaotic. There were quite a few people in the store, and I felt like the workers were very displeased by my presence. I honestly felt like I was a bother. I completely understand that I arrived close to closing, so I tried to be respectful of their time and rushed through the store to grab a few items. I had driven an hour to get there, so I wanted to at least make the most of the trip. When I went to check out, I initially got in one line, and the cashier was finishing up with the customer already there and directed me to another line, so I followed her instructions. I had a basket with my items and wasn't sure if I was supposed to empty it myself. There wasn't an obvious place to leave the empty basket, and the cashier never indicated that she would take it from me. I apologized and explained that it was my first time there. She told me that next time I should come during the week so I could browse more. As I was leaving, I noticed so many people trying to enter the store and being turned away because it was now past closing. That made me think Mazzaro's may want to reconsider its Saturday hours. They are clearly a very popular and well-known store, yet being open from only 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays and being closed on Sundays makes it difficult for people who work typical Monday-Friday, full-time hours to visit. I take responsibility for not checking the hours before making the drive, and I understand that the employees were probably ready to go home. However, I still think there is a difference between enforcing closing time and making a customer feel unwelcome. Unfortunately, I did not feel warmly greeted or welcomed during my visit, and it put a damper on the entire experience.

To start, Maddie's Cakes indicated that it opened at 5pm, leading us to believe that it serviced the late-night coffee-and-pastries crowd. Baked in the Burg opens at 10am and closes at 7pm, and has a very different vibe than what we were expecting. The pastries are definitely meant to be the star of the show, but they were mislabeled (labeled as chocolate pistachio but only chocolate was available), and the baristas knew very little about the product. Speaking of the baristas, although they were very friendly, they clearly were woefully lacking in training. I ordered a chai tea, and one of the baristas asked the other, "Do you know how to make that?" Additionally, my mom ordered a coffee, and when she asked if the brew coffee sitting on the hot plate was fresh, the barista answered, "It was made this morning [seven hours prior to our visit], but it's been on the hot plate." My mom had to ask for a fresh pot to be made, because apparently no one told these poor girls how disgusting coffee is after seven hours on a hot plate. To their credit, though, they were extremely friendly and accommodating, and did their best to answer all of our questions. I just think they need more training. As far as the pastries are concerned, we were so disappointed that we ended up going to Sorrento Sweets right up the street. Skip Baked in the Burg and head to Sorrento's if you want a high-quality bakery experience.
