From delightful but expected savory dishes like noodles, ribs beef and his famous wonton. Get 'em while you can!!! --to his staple traditional boba drinks; then the unexpected items like the surprisingly authentic Portuguese Egg Custard, which is a tart, flaky pastry wirh warm Custard and not too sweet (something my Brazilian wife absolutely appreciated for its authenticity). Don't forget the comfy japanese light cheese cake and delicious pie! Then running the astronomically good deal of a discounted cake cookie when purchased with a delicious boba drink that blows Crumbl right out of the water (and Crumbl is actually next door! Sorry Crumbl). Warm and soft on the inside, and a nice crunch on the outside. This is the BEST bubble tea in Nashville- hands down! Sweet Dreams Bakery and Bubble Tea is a small family owned establishment. It's hidden in the middle of some shops so it can be hard to find, but parking is plentiful. It's rather small on the inside but they have some chairs to sit outside as well. This place has some pies, soups, egg tarts, and of course, the best selling item- bubble tea! Strawberry Lemon Tea with Boba- This was the most refreshing drink for a hot summer's day. I told the owner that I wanted something fruity and she suggested this. I'm so glad that I listened to her. This was like a light strawberry lemonade with a slight taste of tea. Of course the perfectly chewy boba at the end of very sip was just the cherry on top. I had to wait a little bit for my drink and just hung out in my car while they got my order ready. I visited Sweet Dreams Bakery and Bubble Tea on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 around 4 pm. I ordered a regular lychee milk tea with coconut jelly and wonton soup. I thought my milk tea was too sweet, even though I have a huge sweet tooth. I taste some kind of syrupy/flavoring aftertaste and makes me want to drink water to cleanse my palate. My friend ordered a winter melon tea with herbal jelly. He ordered less sweet and thought it was perfect sweetness level, so I should have done the same. There wasn't enough herbal jelly, however. The wonton soup wasn't that great. I ordered it regular spicy level and it had a lot of oil in it. Ok, I have mixed reviews for this pace. My friend I met here and although the sign on the door and the hours posted on Yelp say 10 am they were closed and opened around 10:30 am. It was just one lady opening the place. We were on the parking lot looking at Yelp trying to find another place to grab a bite when she walked and opened up. We gave her time to settled before we went inside. The place smells good when you walk in but it seem they were in a rush the day before at closing time because the place looked dirty and disorganized and she was running late in the morning so no time to tidy up. I ordered the wonton soup and I'm in love, no they don't have the extra noodles but the wonton and broth were delicious. They have a spicy version but it looks like its fueled with fire. They offer some noodle plates and they have pies and they have teas and drink specials. They share a bathroom with other businesses so you'll need to ask for the key. Customer service is no the best but is not the worst, but their tip jar message shows their warmth "tip us!" lol. They have a few things that I wasn't sure if they were for sell or just decoration. Overall, I would come back for the wonton and to try their other food. I won't expect anything but good food and respect. We came during the holidays and we were happy to see a boba place here in Franklin! The bubble tea was good (I got a classic milk tea with boba) and so was the service - I don't understand the reviews here that complain about it. Clearly, during the holidays it can be more difficult and hectic to get orders together but some of the other customers were just flat out rude to the people working (a kid playing on his iPad is a kid - let's have some empathy for working parents here people). I know from personal experience that working in a community with a predominantly white population as a person of color can be fraught with racist encounters; I'm not entirely sure if that's what was happening here, but regardless there is a clear disparity between the treatment of service workers here and in other restaurants. All in all, I enjoyed my experience here and I will come again soon. read more

On a Saturday morning at 11 am, we were the only ones there. Take-out-only due to the pandemic. The service was friendly (I think it was the owner), and he gave menu many options, which I really appreciated. Service was 5/5. I really liked all the food, though the Portuguese egg tart wasn't quite what I was expecting. The crust was super flaky, but the inside was a little more like pudding, and not as firmly set as I'm used to. The Japanese cheesecake was just to my liking. It's right in between the crumbliness of a traditional flour cake and the creaminess of a cheesecake. It's sort of a weird texture if you are not used to it, but I love it. It's a little expensive, but well worth it. I've considered making it in the past, but a couple Youtube videos later, found it too overwhelming to even bother with. The wonton soup was the only hot dish that we tried, and it was perfect: Spicy, fragrant, and piping hot. A little hard to eat in the car, but worth the effort. The cherry pie was flaky, buttery, and the crumb topping had a nice little bite to it. Well worth the four dollars. Lastly, the taro boba tea: Not bad, but I've had better. I ended up here on a whim and was delighted. I was wondering whether I could find mooncakes for the mid-autumn (aka autumn moon) festival and remembered reading about Sweet Dreams Bakery in a Yelp email. Sweet Dreams had at least five different kinds of mooncakes, and the owner took the time to tell us about the regional origin of each type. Each one was freshly baked from scratch and there was a delightful difference between the fresh mooncakes sold here and the pre-packaged ones we used to settle for in Middle Tennessee. Didn't get anything because staff was so rude. My friend and I walked in as a man returns from the parking lot. The young man behind the counter says "so what was wrong with it?" Immediately upon his return. He takes care of that customer while my friend and I review the menu. My friend went after me as we were going to be on the same bill - she was commenting on tapioca pearls and completely unprovoked the guy behind the counter says "I'm not gonna lie, you seem like you're high right now." My friend and I look at each other mortified and shocked by what just came out of his mouth. We have no idea how to respond and he follows up with "well not like.......high on drugs just like......high on life" in a poor attempt to cover his tracks. He informed us the tapioca needed another 20 mins to cook and we could wait if we wanted. We said we would and left without returning. I called the restaurant 4 times to report this and nobody answered and the call hung up after a few minutes of ringing every time. I reached out on WhatsApp and Instagram and heard nothing so this is my last resort. It was an Asian kid with braces. We were in there at 4:50 pm on 5/10/25 and he was wearing a blue sweatshirt at the time. If you all can check cameras if you have them, find out who that was working and reprimand him, that would be greatly appreciated. That was so blatantly rude, unprofessional and unnecessary. What an interesting place! If you've ever been to an Asian bakery, usually you grab a tray and pick all the pastries you want. This is not that kind of bakery. Besides the egg tarts, moon cakes, and Anerican pies, when they have Asian pastries, they are pre packaged in plastic boxes, and you buy the whole box. It seems like they make the pastries in smaller quantities, because they tend to sell out of everything pretty quickly. I had the taro almond pastries, which were good but a little dry in my opinion. Not as soft and sweet like other pastries I've had before. I've had the classic boba milk tea, and I appreciate that they have a variety of flavors and toppings like a real boba shop. I liked it a lot! On the food menu, I've had the pork rib noodles. They were good, but just ok. I think their wontons are the real star of the show. If you follow them on Instagram, sometimes they'll post special menu items that they have in limited quantities. I think Sweet Dreams has a lot of great ideas, but it's such a small shop with only one person running it most of the time. I hope that if business is good that they'll eventually move to a bigger space where they have room for people to sit and eat. The pearls were the proper consistency: soft, chewy, sweet. It's one thing to properly cook the pearls but ANOTHER thing to know to let them rest in a kind of simple-syrup mix which gives them a subtle sweetness of their own. You can customize the sweetness of the tea to your own preference and add other customizations ( which I will be definitely trying soon) I've had the opportunity to try boba all across the United States & in Asia as well - this place has taste the most like what I've tried in China & Taiwan (where boba was created).
