The ice cream and the candy there might be good but the customer service is awful. I refuse to go somewhere where the staff treats its customers lousy so I won't be returning. I will be spending my money elsewhere where the staff treats its customers with more patience and respect. My last experience there I suspected that my negative experience was caused by the staff being racist towards my kids who aren't white. My kids and I both got those vibes. Only giving two stars because of how tasty this ice cream blend is but if you are any other race, ethnic descent, than the people serving you here expect to not be served or people avoid serving you. Also no one behind the counter wears a mask, or the customers who come inside. I wouldn't have sent my partner for ice cream here if I knew that this was a ethnically exclusive establishment, I guess I am not hip with the unwritten rules. I often shop Kosher because of the quality and flavor of the cuisines in which I am purchasing but I never experienced anything like this. My partner, (who is black) came in to a semi busy establishment, waited his time in line and by the time he got to the front the server took off his gloves and stood aside. The last two guys tried to avoid eye contact. A woman came inside behind him and asked if he was in line and he politely told her yes. Then just as he thought he was to be served, the gentleman behind the counter said this "Did you skip this lady?" Almost to pretend like he wasn't standing there the whole time. He seemed to be pained to serve him, and seemed like he wanted to cause a scene. I should have trusted the reviews I saw from two years ago. So sad- this place needs to be reported, especially if people of color is willing to spend their money here. read more

This little gem is in between my best friend's apartment and mine, so whenever we decide to walk instead of using Uber, we treat ourselves to Your Sweet Expressions! It's literally an ice cream and sweets bodega... minus the bodega cat. (Minus one star!) It's open pretty late which is a plus, but the only qualm I have is there aren't many options. You can either get ice cream, a milkshake, or candy, but sometimes ya girl is craving a sundae and they don't even have that! I've gotten the cookie and hazelnut milkshake and they're both amazing. Sometimes this place gets packed super busy at night, and there's always only like 2 people working here so keep that in mind. I'll definitely be back here when I'm en route from my best friend's, but it's not a cute enough spot to bring a date. read more

If you are brown or black do NOT come to this establishment. I have gone to this place a total of 3 times and spent 15$ each time and yesterday was the last time I will ever go there. You would think it is the workers I am talking about, but no. It's the community. I walked in yesterday for a sweet treat and the line was long (not a problem). I was in line waiting my turn to order from the ice cream counter and a woman and her two adult children literally walked in front of me and proceeded to order! I kindly told her I was next obviously, and she ignored me. This was the last straw, as I have encountered small micro aggressions the two previous times here but this was just "it" for me. Spent the day house window shopping in Crown Heights. The large glass windows and colorful signage caught me eye walking by. They advertise gelato but I didn't see any. They have a lot of options like smoothies, shakes, slushies, ice cream and apparently gelato. They also have little snacks and chocolates. I sampled the ferrero rocher flavor and it was just chocolate to me so chose the razzle dazzle instead. It was really good like the drumstick ice cream from the market. The lady was a bit slow in service but friendly and suggested some flavors. There is a nice little back eating area too thats fenced in. Its private from the outside but still good light. I swear every time I go here I have a problem. 1st off the costumer service here is outrageous. They misheard what I ordered, made me the wrong milkshake & then when I told them it was wrong they were obnoxious. The Mexican lady told me that I can't get a refund & if i want a new milkshake I have to buy another one. Next time I came here I ordered a scoop of chocolate icecream with whipped cream. I bit into it & tasted peanut butter in the icecream. I am allergic so it's a big deal. I went up & they said they don't serve chocolate icecream, they serve chocolate nugget which is chocolate peanut butter! That's insane. They need to label their icecream better for people who have allergies. I threw it out in front of them & they didn't offer something new or to fix the situation they just decided to be rude. One of my favorite places for gelato, Sweet Expressions is a bright, happy golden surprise on an otherwise dark and dreary street in Brooklyn. The staff is incredibly kind and made friends with me almost immediately. They oftentimes give me free toppings for my gelato, and are super complimentary. I highly recommend it. read more

I live up the street from Sweet Expressions. It is a DAILY struggle for me not to stop here every day to get some ice cream. Their ice creams flavors are SO DAMN GOOD. I really love coming into Sweet Expressions. I usually come in to a clean store, colorful and a line of about 10 waiting customers. The service guys behind the counter are always sweet, courteous and polite. The servers work quickly and efficiently to move the line quickly and serve their ice cream with a smile. The Ferrero Rocher wasn't the best, but my newest cone, vanilla fudge and snickers was very tasty. Every visit at Sweet Expression is a treat. read more

I was in here twice, once I waited a few minutes and decided the extra calories weren't necessary. The second time, however, I endugled!! I had a Coffeeze which is essentially an affogado cold, and it was literally amazing. A plentiful amount of delicious soft serve ice cream on top of an very nice caramel iced coffee. I asked for whip cream and chocolate sauce on top and got it. Literally, amazing! One of the best coffee/ice cream combos I've had. I feel bad giving this place a bad review as the ice cream and coffee drinks are good. I base my ratings off my experiences and the customer service is not pleasant. I had an experience where the employee heard me wrong, insisted its what I said and then told me it was mine. (Ps. We are talking about ice cream in a cone vs. a cup.) My child will not eat ice cream that was in a cone and dumped in a cup, she likes the swirly top.
