I was reading the comments and heard stale candy and was watching the lady stock and she was not doing the best rotation. If you are reading this to properly rotate stock take all the existing candy out then put new candy in then top with the old so they grab that first ! Also you shouldn't put so much on one basket Maybe Put a filler in the bottom to raise up the candy because it will go stale if you don't seep it fast enough. read more

This was one of my favorite candy store when I was a kid. I was introduced to lemon drops, gummy worms, and liquorice by this same place. I was a bit surprised on how little changes the place have gone through since the opening days. For that same matters, their next door neighbor Red Robins hasn't changed much either. Here's a tip about coming to this place. They charged their candies by the quarter of a pound. The current rate at this place is $2.79 per quarter pound. (Essentially it's about $11 per pound). All the candies and chocolates are in their own containers throughout this tiny 300 square ft store. With the array of candies, try to pick out only the ones that does not have a box or their own packaging. Chances are, those boxed candies are more expensive per weight than they are sold elsewhere (ie Liquor store or supermarkets). Go for the non packaged candies. The gummies stuff should be the lightest and yet weight a ton when the final tally comes out. For a simple pleasure of joy, this candy store should make anyone go sugar high. read more

I'm only going them 4 stars not 5 because I'm a dentist, so technically I shouldn't even be in here. But that's ok - I'm a hypocrite, and some venture to go as far as calling me a fraud They have a lot of candy...mountains. There's enough sugar here to melt a whole in everyone's tooth in Cali. There are gummys, hard candy, lollipops and others that i didn't really take the time to look at - I went right into the sour candies - I got the peach and watermelon. I like the concept of using a small shovel to get the candy - it's. Not like you can shovel only one or two pieces and it's the illusion that the shovel is relatively small., you're not getting a whole lot...wrong. I also got the sour powers - apple. These you grab with the tongs. They had sheets of this thing - tha container easily had about 15lbs worth of candy. I got a small cellophane bag full of junk....$8 I think the rate is $16/lb so I got 1/2 lb of sugar (in case you couldn't do the math, genius). That's enough sugar to sweeten 1large Starbucks frappacino - that's a lot. People who say this candy is expensive just don't get it - these people need to make a living off selling gumdrops and lollipops. What do you expect you friggin cheapskate? Overall cashiers nice. I did sample a lot of the candy for free before purchasing, so technically I could have just left with that. But I'm not a jerk (sometimes) - now I can't wait to develop a toothache and get a root canal (no I can't do a root canal on myself bc I'm a periodontist foolio)! read more

As I sit here, chewing madly on a strip of deliciously sour, deliciously sweet Strawberry Sour Belt from Sweet Factory... ...I can't help but remember the days of yore, when I used to spend an hour just poring through all the different gummies, taffies, chocolates, jawbreakers, butterscotches, and all sorts of other colorful goodies in tidy little bins. With a blue plastic bag in hand, I would carefully weigh my options and pick out only the best of the best, meticulously scooping M&Ms, sour belts, and gummy rings into my bag. Not much has changed in the past 20 years, eh? Yes, I lament the fact that they no longer carry the original Sour Power straws (they were the best, by far), but at least they have Sour Belts. It's probably the only sour candy that I'll actually eat. Liquor stores don't sell the right kind (they only carry wannabe brands), so on the (frequent) occasion that I get a sour belt craving... well... Sweet Factory it is. I don't really like candy anyway, much less anything sour - but Sour Belts are my favorite! Not the green ones... Just the red ones. *drool* Sweet Factory - Thank you for providing me with 20+ years of crazily expensive, but super tasty Sour Belt induced sugar rushes. read more

Small candy stall that is a child's friend. For being a stall in the middle of walkways instead of having their own store spot, they still have a great variety of candy/chocolate. I love their gummies. The candy is on par with other Sweet Factory locations. There were two workers. One friendly, one not-so-friendly-and-just-chilling. The friendly one did pass by me asking me if I need help, just responded that I was fine and just looking. They have two registers, one on each end. Sweet Factory is a bit expensive but for candy lovers, the quality is worth it. read more

OK, I am not blind to the fact that this place has one heck of an offering, but I have to say I was horrified to see how obscenely overpriced their candy is. Marci and I spent nearly 16.00 dollars on 2 small bags of sugar free chocolates and some gummy worms. My god I nearly fell over from sticker shock when the girl behind the counter announced the price. Needless to say I wont be shopping there any more. Its just not a good value. I can go to See's and get premium chocolates for far less money per pound. The real reason I am writing this review however is more of a public service announcement. Sugar Free may have no real sugar but it is by no means FREE. We paid such a huge price in pain after eating it. Both of us experienced the most terrible stomach cramps and bloating that I thought we were going to blow up. The sugar alcohols that are used in sugar free candies apparently cause gas and diarrhea in some people. I probably would have tried it anyway, but I wish there was some kind of warning. This stuff kept me up all night and I literally have not been right since. Please be careful if you go to this place. The price you pay may not just be a ridiculous amount of money. read more

I agree with other reviewers; very overpriced. We grabbed a small scoop of gummy bears and 5 (yes I counted) chocolate covered almonds - it was almost $6!! This is one of the oldest stores at Cerritos Mall, and I hate to give them a bad review since they may just be scraping by, but if they want to continue to be in this mall in the future, they should really change their pricing. I have been coming to The Sweet Factory for my yummy treats for years. I love that they have a wide variety of snacks that everyone can enjoy. My son loves white chocolate, husband enjoys the sour gummies, while I indulge on chocolate covered goodies. For the past recent years, I've met and talked with Laarni, one of the associates there. She's always pleasant to talk to and even goes above and beyond the call of duty. I truly enjoy my time conversing with her. Her friendliness and helpfulness is beyond appreciated. This place always gets me every time I walk through the mall. In a corner with bright colors and candies beckoning you to come hither, its no wonder i always drop some moola when I'm walk. I love their sour strips and sour patch kids.. ok ok, i just love their sour anything. It gets quite expensive though, at 2.79 for a quarter pound. When you're done filling your candy bag with the gazillion candy choices .. you are paying upwards of 8 dollars. It's expensive, but at least you have your choices of candy instead of picking the ones you want to eat and leave the rest to the trash can. What really blew my mind was this young Asian employee girl following me and my children around...she was literally breathing on our back, following us everywhere. Told the children to hurry up, and after paying $12 for our candies..I asked the young girl "why were you following us?" Reading these reviews, I noticed that people are mostly complaining about the price and about the service. I go to the Sweet Factory about once a week. And I just have to say, that the candy seems pricey, but it really just depends on what you get. If you buy a small amount gummy sharks or peanut butter cups, it's going to be more expensive than buying an entire bag of sour belts, because the former is heavier. Just be wise with what you're putting in the bag. There are also signs posted everywhere in the store, telling you how much the candy costs. In regards to the service, please just keep in mind that the workers are human beings too. Treat them with kindness and perhaps they will treat you with kindness as well. I've worked in a similar place before, and I cannot express the hell the they go through with rude customers and nasty people. Perhaps they are at the end of their rope and have run out of patience. Let's just all be kind to one another, yeah? read more

Buyer please beware!!!! KEEP YOUR RECIEPT! I went there today with my two children and purchased two grab pops at 3:44pm. Paid in cash and thank God I kept my receipt. At around 5pm we were leaving mall passed by Sweet Factory again and were almost to Nordstrom when a man (with no name tag on) grabbed my son on the shoulder and said "You stole candy you cannot come back to my store!" I was in shock and asked him what he was talking about? I told him I had my receipt and never to grab my son. He left and I followed him back to store. Turns out his wife saw someone take something and he followed us. I have never experienced something so awful and felt so threatened in the mall. When I presented them with the receipt all they did was apologize. It is unthinkable to me that someone followed me and my two children for at least 10 stores and physically grabbed my son for an item valued at $2.99 assuming we had stolen it. read more

Ripoff. 5 orange slices were 2.39. Really?! The person ringing it up said candy is very expensive, this is a good deal. What?! Once the candy is removed of course you are not allowed to be returned to the container. Orange slices are not easy to find and when I do it comes in a large container. Well those containers have at least 25-30 and costs the same as my 5 or about $4. Sorry would rate this as overly expensive. More than other candy shops or fairs. Buyer Beware. read more

I had promised my grandkids a visit to the candy store after eating at Red Robin. My grandkids loved picking out their candy using the scoops in the various bins. I guess that makes the $13.00 a pound price worth it. The small Sweet Factory candy store was not very busy at dinner time. Fortunately for my wife, there is a nearby See's Chocolate store for her to visit while I watched the grandkids choose their candy. I love the butter popcorn flavored Jelly Bellies and came here after a fierce craving. For some reason....whether it's because they're selling OLD jelly beans, are storing them with other flavora, or are buying KNOCKOFFS, I'm not sure, but....the after taste was AWFUL...almost like black licorice!
