Our family loves SusieCakes! They just celebrated their 20th Anniversary - Congrats! We have been enjoying SusieCakes since they first expanded to Manhattan Beach (we used to live there). Cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and pies are all so yummy! The best frostings and their cakes are so moist! Today, I came in for my Birthday Slice (thru the App). I also picked up another slice (I am NOT sharing my slice with my family)! The staff member included two cupcakes to further recognize my birthday. It made me feel very special! Celebration slice, of course, Strawberry Whipped Cream slice (season), and cupcake were all fantastic! They have some new items. Cookie Cake (large cookie but not a pizza size), usually these are special ordered. They are now carrying frozen cookie dough! On these hot Summer days, nice way to bake some cookies at home without all the work! It's also great place to grab birthday candles (include the numbers!) and sparkler candles. The staff is always so friendly and helpful! It's well known that SuzieCakes (women owned business) takes care of their staff and pays them good wages. They loved working and it shows! It definitely keeps me coming back in!

The customer service at SusieCakes was excellent. I was helped right away, and my order was ready at the exact time I requested. They brought out the cake to show me, made sure everything looked perfect, and walked me through the instructions for serving including when to remove it from the fridge for the best texture and flavor. Quick, friendly, and very professional. I ordered my daughter's Sweet Sixteen cake and it was a total hit. Her favorite flavor is chocolate, so we went with the Old‑Fashioned Chocolate Cake in the 9‑inch size, which they say serves 12-20 people but honestly, this cake could easily feed 20-25. It's huge, rich, and beautifully made. We added confetti sprinkles, chose chocolate buttercream for the outside, and requested a SusieBlue inscription for the birthday message. Everything came out exactly as ordered, and the decoration looked clean, cute, and perfect for a Sweet Sixteen celebration. Everyone at the party loved it, and there was more than enough to go around.

This is my go-to SusieCakes since it's in my area! We've been going there since they first opened at this location. We almost always order a red velvet cake here for all birthday & holidays since that's what my kids like. I usually get their red velvet & vanilla cupcakes. The service is great. Everyone seems nice. This location is at LBX so the parking is free and spacious.

    Yummy Treats!!!!!!

On 05/12/26, I decided to indulge and treat myself to a sweet treat so Susie's Cakes it was. I was the only customer at the time so there was no wait. The worker was very friendly. I purchased a Red Velvet & Strawberry Cupcake. The cupcakes were delicious as usual but it appears the cupcakes were smaller than they use to be but cost the same. The restaurant was clean as usual and they had plenty of goodies to choose from. This location is at the Long Beach Exchange and has plenty of parking. If you are looking for a delicious treat, try Susie Cakes.

I've been gifted SusieCakes cakes and cupcakes on numerous occasions and it's been a favorite. This specific location at LBX is nice. Their pastry case was full and the options for cake slices were plenty. Cupcakes are $4.99 each. They also have minis at $2.75 each. Comparable with Sprinkles cupcakes pricing. Personally, I go for the cake slices since it's my perfect cake to frosting ratio - more cake, less frosting. Lol. My regular 3 slices are the celebration cake (funfetti with buttercream), red velvet (with cream cheese frosting), and the carrot cake (golden raisins, pecans, cream cheese frosting). Slices are about $8.75 each and they're big enough to share. Big fan of SusieCakes. The cake, frosting, and the flavors are so good. Tastes home made. A little bit pricey but it is worth it. Great service.

Secured the goods! Great packaging, always!

SusieCakes will always be on my top cake shops to go to, especially for last minute occasions! I tend to walk in and just grab and go. Whether I'm in the mood for cupcakes, a slice of cake or a whole cake for someone special. They will have everything available. My kids looooove their cupcakes! Who doesn't enjoy a little treat once in a while?! Their cupcakes are great sizes and always freshly made. Honestly, I've never had a cake I didn't enjoy. I highly recommend their celebration cake, red velvet, chocolate and carrot cake! They also have special flavors. I recently got the blueberry lemon and the banana chocolate, WOW! like I said, Susie cakes never disappoint! I love this location, always easy to find parking and be in and out of there within minutes as long as you're decided. As for me, I want everything and forget why I'm there in the first place so I take a while lol! I always go home with mini boxes meaning slices of other cakes and/or cupcakes for the kids! Until the next occasion or sweet craving, thanks SC!

Carrot Cake 6 Inch - Carrot Cake

I LOVE Susie Cakes but I understand the ratings might be a little lower because, let's face it, they're expensive. For me, they're worth it, it's one of the only places that I really like their fronting and their cake, but it is a splurge. But let me tell you - their carrot cake is out of this world. It is phenomenal. If you love carrot cake, you should try this at least once. I also LOVE their lemon cupcake. It's not quite as good as nothing Bundt cake's lemon cake, but it is a close second. Their chocolate cupcakes are deep chocolatey goodness. Chocolate on chocolate is heavenly. Their red velvet and vanilla cake and cupcakes are also really solid because they have such good frosting, but those are not the flavors I typically choose. But people who like red velvet love Susie cake's version. I had one of their sugar cookies as well - let me tell you, that was probably the best sugar cookie of my life. I'm not even exaggerating. I would definitely come back here in the future, but only for a special occasion.

    Slice of Classic Marble Cake
    Ann V.

I've tried a couple cupcakes from their menu, but this was the first time I came here to try one of their cakes. We decided to try a slice of their Classic Marble Cake. It was pretty good, but a little too sweet for me. I believe it was about $8 or so for a slice of cake and it was a good size. There's lots of parking at LBX and if you're pressed on time, you can order online and pick up right at the counter.

I was back here again because the craving for red velvet was over taking my ability to think! Haaa! I got two slices because on the app, I got a buy $15 and get off $10. That's two slices worth and for their fresh berries slice. Again, red velvet for the win! Even though the other slice was more expensive. The girls are super friendly. Quick service. Cakes are delicious and the place is always appealing.

    Very dry cupcake :(
    Prim P.

Very very disappointing.I should have read the review first. My kids and I were in the area for something else and I saw this place. I decided to give it a shot. The cupcakes are very dry, sweet and expensive. $21 for 4 small cupcakes. To be honest the $10 box for 12 cupcakes at the grocery market tastes a lot better ... very upset.

    Phung V.

What's not to like? All the cakes are delicious and moist. This place doesn't need a long winded review. Go to any Susie Cakes and enjoy a slice of cake. You won't regret it.

    Divorce cake!
    Monica L.

Edit: Second cake i picked up today, 8/1/2025. Flawless... celebrating the finalization of my childhood friend's divorce... inscription "we've never liked her anyways" On the fly, picked up their old fashion chocolate cake. No frills, just a diner style cake that delivers true decadent. Stood in line and had my messaged piped on top of the cake.

Nonna has become our go to bakery, our sweet retreat, and one of our favorite local brunch spots. Now, they even have happy hour and, during the summer, dinner (Nonna Summer Nights)! And all of the food is amazing. Seriously, truly legit! We buy bread from there each week. No more "big box store" bread you freeze. They make their bread fresh daily. They only use fresh, locally sourced ingredients with no preservatives. It's nice to look at an ingredient list and not see a paragraph for bread (and be able to pronounce all the names!). And their cupcakes and sweets. Yo, seriously so good. And the thing is, because of the ingredients they use, we don't feel heavy or overly wired after eating cake or cupcakes from them. From other places you can tell they use preservatives, refined sugars, processed ingredients. But with Nonna, you can just taste the difference. We even had them make our special cake for our wedding! We recently tried their dinner (twice!) and it exceeded expectations. Now, mind you, all of their food has always been good but our experience was amazing. Their prix fixe menu was well put together, wine pairings on point, dessert was also delicious. Our favorite was the tiramisu! Also loved the spaghattini and casarecce pastas, and entrecôte di manzo, but everything was great. Their brunch is also great, you really can't go wrong on the menu. And I think we've gone through almost all of it! Finally, (if you've stayed with me this long!) the absolute best thing about Nonna for us is the TEAM. Hands down no question. The food is good, space is a comfortable neighborhood vibe, and all that. But truly the folks here are amazing humans. Always friendly, warm, and welcoming. If the management team is reading this, you all have a great group of people there! We will definitely be back (again and again and again) and you should too!

My qualm about Nonna's is this: Baked goods already purchased cannot be eaten at dining table. So with that said, you're eating Baked Eggs with 2 small slices of bread that is not enough...and they will not let you grab a piece of bread you just bought at their bakery to dip into the egg sauce. WTH is that logic???? Honestly, not cool. And their bread is HELLA EXPENSIVE. If I'm going to buy your expensive bread and pay to sit at your table, WHY CANT I EAT THE BREAD I JUST BOUGHT? Makes no sense!! So now I make my own Baked Eggs and my own bread. I can eat as much as I want. 4/5 for Baked Eggs 1/5 for their bakery policy

Very cute cozy bakery. My partner and I ordered 1 slice of Dubai pistachio cream cheese cake, 1 chocolate chip cookie, 1 slice of upside down German Chocolate cake, and 1 cinnamon roll with the nuts and no icing. Service was great, such a sweet young lady that helped us. Here's my review on each item: Dubai Cheesecake - pretty presentation. It was good for the most part but I think I expected more. I personally wouldn't order again. Chocolate chip cookie - very good cookie. The right amount of chocolate chips and it was really soft which I enjoy my cookies soft. I would order another. German Chocolate cake - oh my god!!! That was one of the best German chocolate cakes I've ever had. I enjoyed how moist the cake was and the nutty texture on top was next level. I would definitely order another slice. The Cinnamon roll - this was my favorite thing we ordered. This cinnamon roll was to die for! Pillowy soft and the right amount of sweetness. The roll was so good with the nuts alone that I didn't even need or use the icing we asked for on the side. This was such a delight.

Lovely brunch at the newly opened cafe portion of Colossus bakery…read more Stopped by the bakery first to grab their Cardamom roll. Which was delicious very "cardamomy" flavored, crispy layers. Dusted with Swiss pearl sugar. Just really yummy. Saw the almond croissant. Said oh will stop again on our way out. BIG mistake. Of course they were gone by then. Opted for the sticky toffee bun. She recommended warming before eating. What a nice little treat to share with my husband after dinner! Back to the cafe. Newly added as an adjoining space was vacated next to the bakery. Industrial modern interior. Spacious with 20(?) tables. Partners opted for the 2 egg breakfast. Eggs cooked perfectly as ordered. One ordered an omelet. Beautifully made. Would make Jacques Pepin or Thomas Keller proud. Thick sliced bacon. Thick sliced multigrain toast. Small side of spring mix salad adorned with watermelon radish. Very nice entree if you're an egg lover. Shared the French fries. They're like the ones my grandma made. Thick sliced potatoes deep fried. Crispy outside. Soft inside. Brings back pleasant memories. Get these if you're a French fry fan. The mushroom dip (think French dip with variety of sautéed mushroom in lieu of beef) was GREAT! Mushroom not overcooked, Muenster cheese draped atop. Crusty baguette bread. Although the dipping sauce was vegan based, the roasted mushroom base added enough umami for a deeply flavored dip. My only complaint was the clusters of oyster mushrooms were laid horizontally following the length of baguette. Which presents well but was a bit challenging to bite through. I dunno, maybe my teeth aren't sharp. Overall an outstanding dish. So my dilemma now is when to return to try the other menu items which didn't make my first cut. Parking is....well ya know...it's 2nd St. So the driver needs to be a good parallel parker. Cute shoes optional but be prepared to walk.

Colossus is a place that I can rely on for real, homemade, and heavily cared for sourdough bread…read more Like some reviews say, the workers can definitely be rude at times and give off a bad vibe, but the sourdough is so good that I just deal with it. Really thankful for this place. Even bought a shirt. Thanks for great sourdough! (I haven't ever tried anything else)

Bake n Broil is easily one of my favorite breakfast spots! My go to is always the avocado omelet,…read morewhich comes with your choice of seasoned or unseasoned potatoes. I always get the seasoned potatoes and of course, I have to get a side of their daily muffin. So good! The prices are very affordable, especially for the quality and portions of the food. The service has always been really good whenever I've dined in as well. The only downside is that it can get very crowded, but honestly, I can see why considering how good the food is and how reasonable the prices are. Because it gets so busy, I usually order takeout, and I've always had a great experience. My orders have been ready, everything tastes just as good, and I've never had any complaints. The restaurant itself is also really cute with a nice, casual, and welcoming ambiance. Definitely one of those reliable breakfast spots that I keep going back to!

I love the French Dip here! It's basic - just meat, roll & broth - but very flavorful. Beef has…read morebeen consistently tender. I also really like their fries - oh AND their baked goods. Honey Bran muffin is excellent. AND their Lemon Lush pie is my favorite dessert. Service is always really good, waits can be long as it is a popular restaurant. I've been going here for years and it's always had a good chill coffee shop vibe. Definite LB classic!
