An authentic Trini restaurant. Pleasant owner, great food. The doubles and buss up shot OMG.

Got a combo platter of fried fish with sauce, rice and vegetables. Very tasty and while spicy, the spice didn't overpower the flavor of the food. I also had the cream soda, which was very sweet and provided nice balance with the spicy food. I would definitely come back and try it again.

The food is fresh and delicious. Well made and abundant with love. You will enjoy your meal hear. The staff at the restaurant is very kind and we have no words for their generosity. Thank you for your help and support to our family during some of the world's most critical times. They did not ask us for any reviews but this is the least we can do to show our appreciation for your unfailing love through our hardships. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you May God bless your kindness.

They have a variety of stewed meats for roti meals and sides like mashed pumpkin, potatoes, spinach and other veggies. Everything is uniquely seasoned and spiced. If you're not good with spicy foods, ask for anything with peppers to not include them. My husband ordered the stewed boneless chicken with paratha roti and pumpkin plus potatoes as sides. The roti was fresh and hot. The pumpkin was my favorite. The chicken was easy to eat and tasted good, not dry. The potatoes were soft. I got a double and it was amazing. Lots of tamarind flavor and some curry and cumin tastes. I love chickpeas and there were plenty of it stuffed inside. Gotta eat it quick or else the shell becomes soggy. I also ordered a bake and shark. First time trying it. The crispy texture of the fried fish plus the soft outer shell along with the lettuce and tomato all tasted delicious together. However, the fish was way too salty for me. After the first few bites, I couldn't eat anymore of it. My husband who has a much stronger taste palette even agreed it was on the salty side. Will definitely come back to try more items!

Some restaurants serve food. Others serve memories…read more For me, Joy's Roti Delight isn't just the best Trinidadian restaurant in Broward County--it's a place that's been part of my life for years. I've been eating there since they were in their original location connected to Lauderhill Mall, and no matter how many restaurants I've visited as a chef, Joy's has always felt like home. Walk through the front door and you'll see the large photo of Mr. Vishwanath "Joy" Sawh. That picture is more than decoration--it's a reminder of the man whose kindness and passion built a place that has fed generations of South Floridians. I'm grateful I had the opportunity to meet him. He was genuinely one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. And the food? Simply outstanding. Their doubles are, in my opinion, the best in Broward--soft, fresh, perfectly balanced, and packed with authentic Trinidadian flavor. It's no surprise they're one of the dishes people rave about over and over in public reviews. The curry goat is tender and deeply seasoned. The curry chicken is rich and comforting. The curry duck is phenomenal. The stew chicken tastes like it came straight from a family kitchen. Pair any of them with their flavorful rice and peas, curry potatoes, or curry chickpeas, and you understand why Joy's has built such a loyal following over the years. But believe it or not... my favorite side is the pumpkin. Funny enough, I used to never eat pumpkin. Mr. Joy himself convinced me to give it a chance, telling me how good it was for me. If you know what I mean I finally listened--and I've been hooked ever since. It's funny how the smallest conversations can stay with you forever. Don't leave without trying their homemade pepper sauce either. It brings just the right amount of heat while letting the flavors of the food shine. As an Executive Chef who's fortunate enough to eat at restaurants across South Florida, I know great food when I taste it. But what separates Joy's isn't just the cooking--it's the heart behind it. The recipes, the consistency, the culture, and the people have made this place a landmark for Trinidadian cuisine. Rest in peace, Mr. Vishwanath "Joy" Sawh. Thank you for the meals, the conversations, and the legacy you've left behind. Your name still brings people together around a table, and that's one of the greatest accomplishments anyone in the restaurant business could ever hope for. Some legacies are written in history books. Yours is written in every plate that comes out of that kitchen.

I decided to swing by for 2 ($5.50 total) doubles. I asked the lady for extra cucumber on it (its included for free). And extra tamarind sauce. (A little more of a squirt). The lady put maybe the size of a quarter of cucumber in both. Which is 100% the normal amount. I asked for a little more in one. She put maybe the size of a dime worth more. I gave up caring. Then gave me the normal amount of sauce. The short hair manager that was sitting down eating on her phone kept hearing "extra" "little more". Regardless of the extra not actually being given. The lady got up ran over to the register to check me out and instead of it being $5.50 before tax. It was now $8.00 before tax due to her adding a "small side of cucumber". She charged me $2.50 for i swear to you 1 cent worth more of cucumber. It was the size of a dime more of shredded cucumber. The first lady didnt mention it would be extra. The manager didnt mention it and I saw it pop up on the screen for 1 second and she didnt even mention it. Im not coming back ever again. Nor am I promoting this store again. I have gotten over 100 millions views on social media in the last month and all I have to say is ive chosen to leave a yelp/google review. Its not about the $2.50. As I entered, Justin, "the boss man" greeted me, and I mentioned to him that I had just called in an order, for just 3 roti. Justin was super friendly, and cracked some Guyanese / Trini jokes with me, asked me what curry I'm having the roti with, "chicken curry, or curry chicken", well being Guyanese, it's chicken curry of course. The roti was made to order, so they were steamy hot, and smelled just as they should. I also picked up 2 different pepper sauces and a couple bags of Guyanese chow mine, everything was about $40, not a bad deal. This place is a little out of way, but honestly with fair prices, clean environment and a friendly owner, it's worth driving the distance for quality items that are fresh also. I'll definitely mark this down as a go too for quick Guyanese/ Trini dishes.

Every now…read moreand then I would have a craving for some roti or curry potato, but at the same time I am not willing to drive so far for it. Located in the Coral Springs Plaza, Priya's Roti Shop has the look and feel of a true West Indian shop serving homemade Trinidadian foods such as various curry or stew meats, cook to order roti (paratha or dhalpourie), phoulourie, bake & shark, doubles, and so much more. There's also homemade sweets & beverages, as well as various bottles of hot pepper sauce, spices, split channa, kuchela, and other Caribbean beverages. I was greeted by a gentleman with a nice Trinidadian accent. I kindly asked for a menu while he tended to the other customers. The prices range from low to moderate. Lord I wish I could get a bit of everything off the menu, but I will just stick to what I mainly wanted - roti. When the gentleman was ready to take my order, I told him I wanted boneless curry chicken which was served with my choice of dhalpourie roti and curry potato. I also ordered six doubles and a bottle of mauby. There was a bit of a wait cause the roti had to be made, which I didn't mind at all. Then he made the doubles. I watched him as he laid down two bara (flatbread) then scooped some curried channa (chick peas) on each, topping them with tamarind and cucumber chutney. Once the food was ready, I took everything to an available table and your girl was in foodie heaven. I started with one of the doubles which was absolutely delicious! The flavors of the curried channa and both chutneys complemented each other nicely, and the barra had a yummy texture...moving on...the curry chicken and potato was also delicious and flavorful with a mild pepper kick. At times I broke pieces of the roti to pick up some chicken and/or potato like a true islander. The atmosphere was truly relaxing with Indian music softly playing in the background. I was casually drinking the mauby which was lightly sweet and refreshing. I am definitely looking forward on coming back to try other foods, especially the bake & shark.
