This salon is located two blocks from my apartment. I moved into the neighborhood and I needed an up-do for a wedding. The up-do turned out great and then I started going to Liz for my regular cuts and color shortly after that. She is great with curly hair and gives me the best cuts! I've been going there ever since and LOVE it there! Cute salon, great products, female-owned business, and they are very attentive! You'll get fresh coffee, wine and snacks. It is very clean, professional, and always pleasing to the eye! She offers me water, tea, or coffee each time I come. I love going to this salon and I always feel very comfortable! Since I've been going to Ekkoe, my hair has grown about 4-5 inches! I'm sure it would be longer if I was more consistent... I now see her monthly. She doesn't use too much heat and she is very big on hair care... My hair is now very healthy and has a natural shine. She recommends good products that are reasonably priced for such great quality to use for good maintenance at home. She books fast so I schedule in advance. I think my favorite thing about her is that I'm not in the salon for more than 2 hours! She is quick and consistently does a fabulous job on my hair! Guys!!! I've been going to Susie for mani pedis for years now and not only is she talented, she is also a delight! Susie has added lash goddess to her repertoire. A few weeks ago Susie gave me a lash lift and tint. I have pretty short lashes and they are light in color so when I'm without mascara, I look like I don't have any lashes. Brand new and totally my new fave salon. I went in with a pic on my phone of what I wanted done to my hair and I wanted their professional opinion, and she was honest, told me what she thought would work better and I trusted her, and I am beyond happy with the results! The chairs are comfy, the sinks were clean, and the girls in there are just so funny and sweet. This is my new salon and I recommend for everyone! You may like super cuts and their $20 cuts, or $100 hair dyes, but you wont get the same service or results (most of the time) as you would paying slightly more. I love this place! read more

Okay so I had to finally give up my hometown salon. I was driving 35 miles to my old stylist for comfort and a great price. But she decided to go back to school. Soooo, I had to try a new place. I went to Sweet Hot based on the Yelp review and I was not disappointed. It was that time of the year: my hair had grown out of control and I had no place to go. After spending much time on yelp to find a place, I decided to try this one. I wish I hadn't!! I decided to go for a place with a higher prices rather than a place that cuts for 15-20 bucks, but does a terrible job. Well, i was wrong, might have as well paid $20 for it. I came in with a grown out cute short hairstyle and came out with a short, squared, lame haircut. Not only was it way overpriced, I have to live with it for another month at least, till it grows back! Never have I experienced such a bad haircut. Won't go back, I guess you have to learn. I read so many good reviews about this place, I don't know what to think. Maybe they are not good with short hair, or I don't know, but my experience here was terrible. good luck read more

Suzie's pedicures are hands down the best I have ever had. You will not believe how superior they are than the cheap ones. My last pedicure lasted a month because she does such an amazing job. Soooo very worth it! Just wanted to update my review because I just got my first haircut from Liz. Wow is she great! Has to be the best haircut I have ever had and she makes it look so effortless. I just moved to the area recently and hadn't found a stylist yet. After reading some reviews I decided to call Sweet Hot. I made an appointment with Gina. I got to the salon and its nice and clean inside, super cute. Gina was super nice, so was everybody else. My hair was in bad shape, but she put all the right products (not too much I hate when people do that), asked the right questions about how I wanted my hair, and did a gorgeous job! My hair is EXACTLY how I was hoping it would look. I didn't even have to bring a photo. My bangs are perfect (which is rare for me) and the layers are great. I have been a regular client here since the salon opened, and for many years before ... This salon is GREAT!! Liz, Susie, Marie, and Ekkoe are very friendly and experienced. You feel immediately welcomed and at home .. They use good, quality products, and they all know how to work with different hair types. The ladies here are hospitable, offering all kinds of snacks and treats. Susie's pedicures are the best- they last a lonnnnng time. Marie always takes her time and does such an amazing job on my daughters hair.. What I like most is that they are very accommodating- you tell them what you want, and they will take care of you! I noticed someone left an unflattering comment before- I would ask them, Were they specific with explaining the style/ cut they wanted? Liz is so great! I am new to the area and am so thankful to have found a salon that has reasonable prices and outstanding quality and customer service! I was kindly greeted right as I walked in the door and offered a beverage while I waited (I was early). The salon was clean and chic. Liz was quick and efficient in doing my highlights and low lights. Her assistant was very kind and helpful as well, and gave me an amazing scalp massage while rinsing out my color. Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience. I called to make an appointment with Liz but she wasn't available so I was booked with a different stylist. I only wanted partial highlights and NO cut, but was heavily pressured into full highlights - and cut I didn't need - and some moisturizing treatment. I was not put under the heat with the color. The "full" color was sloppy, uneven (the back didn't even look highlighted). The "cut" part wasn't even a haircut. It was barely grazing a small part of my bangs and I was charged $60 for that portion of the bill. The blow dry wasn't pleasant - heat was on way too high and burned my scalp in spots. The worst part was that the "highlights" washed out within two weeks. I was super bummed. I contacted the stylist about this and asked if permanent hair color was used. She basically told me that the toner washed out and I probably need another full head of highlights or my roots done and "that's just the way it goes sometimes!" Actually no - not if it's done properly. Full highlights with permanent color shouldn't wash out within two weeks of the service! When you spend a lot to get it done - around $270 - you expect it to last more than 14 days! Finally when I asked this person what she would charge to fix the color that washed out - she said she wouldn't know until I got there and we should book enough time to so she could do everything. No thanks. This was not a case of you get what you pay for. It was a total waste of money. Very disappointed. I won't be back to this salon. read more

I just got my hair done at Sweet Hot Salon and I couldn't wait to write this review. I went in for a press and curl and was hesitantly considering adding extensions for fullness. Ekkoe was so professional and patient with me and explained all the different options I had. I ended up going with micro loop extensions which seamlessly blend with my hair. I am so happy with the result, I have already booked my next appointment. FYI, I was her only client, so no sitting and waiting like many stylists tend to do. She started on time and the shop was very clean and cute. Update: I recently got a gel manicure from Suzie and I will definitely be back. All I remember about that appointment was that she was sweet, gentle, skilled...and fast! I have never been out of a chair do fast... And extremely happy with my wash and style! I thought my hair was dry and damaged but not after Ekkoe restored it! I was addicted. I think I made an appointment for a weave two weeks later. I would be in Ekkoe's chair at Sweet & Hot more often but my hair is flawless. My weaves are so natural it's always assumed that it's not a weave by many. I have silky hair that usually slips out of weaves but not anymore! I'm soooo happy. Ekkoe knows what you need. She's so nice and always checks in with me about my family and work. The salon looks clean and organized and there are tons of magazines to flip through while you're there. My appointment was with the stylist, Ekkoe, who I was referred to by a reliable friend. I was right on time for my appointment and I did not have to wait while she finished another appointment. I hate to have to wait 15 minutes after arriving to a scheduled appointment. Ekkoe is very professional and educated about natural hair care. She took very good care of my hair and made suggestions about how I can care for my hair at home. Love these girls! The salon is BRAND NEW and conveniently located with tons of free street parking as well as an underground lot. Don't let the cheesy "strip mall" scare you - this is a great place. I've been going to Liz for my cut and color for many years and this is her new place. She opened it up with Suzie who does *fabulous* nails, spa style complete with scrubs. All the best OPI colors and fastidious with hygiene. The sinks and chairs for the wash are amazing. I've had my hair done at the $300 NYC salon I have to say these sinks and chairs are the most comfortable I've ever had my hair washed in. They use excellent products and sell a bunch as well. Also, they have a fridge full of beverages and create a really relaxed atmosphere.
