Nothing unique about it. Basic frozen açaí more like blueberry taste not the açaí fruit taste. not the local "apple bananas". Very basic sweetened granola. Sugary honey... if you are craving for an açaí bowl go for it, but it's not authentic. Have been visiting lot off açaí bowl places in Maui , so far Kauai had the more real authentic açaí bowls... read more

Went looking for the best açaí bowl on the island, and Sweet Hula did not disappoint! Just a heads up, this is a food truck, and is among a large group of food trucks at South Maui Gardens. We ended up going early morning, and found parking in the lot behind the old Kihei Marketplace building. I can see this place being extremely busy later in the day, so if you are like me and hate crowds, go early! We had the small bowl with banana, blueberries, and strawberries plus peanut butter. Fruit was of course super fresh and very good, peanut butter was creamy and smooth. The açaí is good consistency, not too runny like some places. I'd come back for sure. Small bowl was plenty for one person. read more

My daughter is an açaí connoisseur of sorts always wanting it in the sunny locations we hit (Scottsdale, Palm Springs etc). These açaí bowls were refreshing, creative, ample and delicious. I had the Honoloa w/bee pollen and my fam had the Hana w/PB. So good! They had tons of customers. They do a great job here! Highly recommend. read more

This was my favorite açaí bowl in Hawaii! Set back in a little food market with tons of food options and plenty of places to sit. They have options for non açaí as well and even better they let you mix multiple kinds! I got the açaí and blue majik and loved them both, super fresh and not too sweet with some great topping options. The staff was super friendly and let me customize the bowl which I loved. Enjoyable - Great location - Refreshing Staff recommended the Moana and said it tasted like a pina colada...I didn't get it lol. I liked it, didn't love it. They were so patient and knowledgeable about all the ingredients and options which really helped my pregnant brain make a decision. If you haven't been to this area you should! Best acai bowls we've ever had. We stopped by the Kihei farmers market first thinking we might get acai bowls there, but thought we could find better so drove down to this collection of food trucks to try out Sweet Hula. So glad we did - they were out of this world delicious! Staff were super friendly as we were trying to decide what to get. I ended up getting the Jaws with peanut butter added. Ambiance is great with lots of picnic tables and shade. Next time I'm in Maui, I'll definitely come back here. read more

I always need my acai fix when I come visit Hawaii so my boyfriend and I stopped by for lunch! We both got small acai bowls, Jaws and Molokini. I wanted to try the special of the day, mango cream, and the staff were incredibly enthusiastic about my decision. There were plenty of benches outside for seating, added plus for being shaded! The space is clean and inviting, nice to stroll around. Parking lot is adjacent to the food trucks, no issues trying to find a spot. read more

Sweet Hula hit the Kihei Food Oasis at the South Maui Gardens a few months ago, and I'd been waiting to check them out on our next return to the island. Well that day finally arrived, and my hubby & I are still smiling about the amazing Açaí bowl we shared this morning! Having lived on Oahu for many many years, and consuming Açaí bowls way too often, I jokingly consider myself an "Açaí bowl snob" or expert (haha)! I have my favorites, but I welcome trying the new Açaí kids on the block too! Kyla was such a sweetheart this morning! Her friendly smile and warm welcome truly gave us that genuine Aloha spirit. We got the "Jaws" bowl and shared the large size (definitley a generous portion for sharing!). The Açaí blend was one of the best we've ever had: fresh, perfectly blended to a thick, smoothie bowl consistency (not at all watery or soupy like a lot of other places), and loaded with antioxidants and flavor! The fresh mango, strawberries, toasted coconut, and granola on top were perfectly portioned to the bowl, high quality and absolutely delicious! They also serve up smoothies and other Brazilian bites at their small but mighty food truck. Such an awesome location as well, with a beautiful garden set up in the back of South Maui Gardens. Really good acai bowls in Kihei! They are located in the Kihei Food Truck Oasis. The fruits are fresh and the acai has the perfect texture. I ordered the small Hana acai bowl which included granola, banana, strawberry, peanut butter and honey. The small bowl was the perfect portion for me to eat during breakfast. Service was friendly and we got our acai bowls fairly quick after ordering. I would've gone a 2nd time here during my trip, but unfortunately they are closed on Sundays. read more

Sweet Hula is the only place I ate more than once while in Maui. To be honest, we didn't try the açaí bowls because we were intrigued by the matcha and blue magik (coconut and pineapple) bowls. Both were loaded with fresh fruit and granola and were delicious and filling. We also tried the Brazilian cheese bread and it was definitely worth the 15 minute wait while it cooked. The service was helpful and kind and they remembered me when I came back. Seating is outside on picnic tables as this is a food truck but there is plenty of room and they keep it clean. I just ordered their original bowl. The bowl comes with banana, and berries. The bowl was okay. I thought the açaí was too sweet and there was not enough fruit. The container was filled ¾ full of açaí. The ratio was very off. I didn't finish the bowl, it was too sweet. The place was pretty clean, some of the tables may need to be wiped down. They serve coffee and shaved ice as well. Shaved ice is a separate location from the coffee. It's just off to the right.
