I reside in West Hartford but decided to give this place a try (since my BFF, who appreciates sushi just as much as I do), lives in Southington. We came towards closing time on a Thursday night and the rolls were so fresh and delicious, portions are filling and this place is SUPER clean!! This is our new sushi spot!! I was so impressed that I had to introduce this place to my boyfriend that same Saturday during lunch and he loved it too! I'm a (VERY PICKY) sushi connoisseur and he likes Thai food, as well as sushi rolls, so were we had the best of BOTH worlds! My sister put me onto to the Spicy Tuna Bomb, while I was visiting her last month in Boston and I absolutely loved it, but couldn't find it anywhere locally, until now. Sweet Mango's version is out of this world!! Angel Roll and Crazy Roll are my favorite and you can't go wrong with any of the deserts listed on the menu. Wow! I just finished some of the best sushi around! We usually get sushi in Waterbury--closer to home. My wife was working in Southington, so I picked the place on a whim and placed an order online. The ordering was effortless. We had the sashimi for two and it was monstrous. The quality of the fish was simply outstanding. Not realizing that the sashimi for two was huge, we also ordered a variety of rolls. We got the rainbow roll, the Angel roll, and the Mexican roll. Outstanding. We got miso soup for the kids and that, too, was excellent. Really great portions and great quality fish! I cannot say a bad thing about Sweet Mango. read more

First time here- and have realized this is more a Japanese restaurant than Thai. More tables were ordering sushi but I was in the mood for Thai and was staying nearby. I ordered the green curry with veggies and tofu. The amount of veggies in the dish was amazing, the care they took to make the presentation was also nice, but... it was basically steamed veggies in a green water. There was no flavor of curry. Real Thai food curry should be a bit thicker and with lots of flavor. This lacked all things a curry should taste like. At least I had a bowl of assorted steamed veggies to eat. I was brought here for the first time a little over a week ago and I've already been back once since! Amazing sushi, fast service and friendly staff. Never knew how beautiful the view could be out the back window, either, but the inside is such a great space with an awesome ambiance whether you're eating casually or out on a date. Can't wait to explore more of the menu - especially the Thai side of things! I used to frequent a well known spot in Bristol but this is much better, fresher food. First time here and we had a variety of things to eat. Everything was awesome. Crab Rangoon were delicious and hand made, sushi was fresh and very tasty (huge selection!) my wife got noodles and was blown away at how tasty they were. In addition they have hibachi (not at the table but available on the menu). We couldn't believe the variety on the menu and the amount of different food they offered. We were seated at a booth and the male server immediately requested our drink order and when we replied that we would need a minute or two he was irritated and it continued throughout our meal. I can't speak for the sushi Side but let me tell you - this is not the place for chicken Pad Thai - basically it was noodles with what looked like spaghettio sauce - way too much sauce and zero vegetables. This wasn't even close to Pad Thai and wasn't good at all - waste of money if you are expecting Pad Thai. I dined with friends at Sweet Mango last night. What a feast for our senses! We were warmly welcomed with soup and edadame then onto entrees. I had Bangkok Duck crisply fried - simply delicious, combined with tastes of basil, lemon grass, cashews, pineapple and more. Nothing was too much or too little, just perfect! Others in our party were very happy with - the duck with basil, salmon sushi roll, the special rolls with mango, fish eggs and much more. We skipped desserts only because we were very satisfied & didn't want to overeat (everyone took home some leftovers). Which means we will be back and leave space for desserts. read more

My husband and i went with "Let's try that new place" last night during our all-too-frequent argument, er, "discussion" about where to go out to eat -- and we're so glad we did! We started with soup (miso?) for him and salad (avocado) for me and were quite happy with those; the dressing is spicier than the typical ginger and/but quite tasty. Next up was sushi, which was "the freshest i've had" (per my husband, who has by far the best palate in the family) and really good -- plus *beautifully* presented (colorful sauces were used to draw a butterfly on one plate and a fish on another). We both ended up having Thai entrees, and they were a treat, as well. The kid's meal of hibachi steak was more than enough for my son (he's 3 1/2 but has a healthy appetite), and even that was presented in an appealing fashion -- platter with four squares, one with steak, one for sauce dishes, one with grilled veg, one with fried rice -- and yummy. My husband particularly praised the fried rice (not sure he got a *chance* to sample the steak!). Even the Thai iced tea got high marks. We can't speak to the desserts because we didn't leave room, but i bet they're good, too. We definitely will be back! read more

One of the best sushi place in the state but is often overlooked because it's a small restaurant in Southington. Family run, the owners and servers are very nice and quick with service. Amazing! We went for dinner on a Saturday night and it was busy but we were still able to sit after about five minutes. The staff is really nice and always asked if we liked everything. We got both sushi and some appetizers and everything was great. They also made elaborate designs in sauces on the plates...we had an elaborate flowered tree on ours. Will definitely go back!! This place is awesome !! We went Christmas Eve and I was surprised that it was so good, almost as good as somewhere in bancock. The service was GREAT! And the food tasted great. I ordered the spicy tuna roll and it was kinda blan(not spicy) nothing fancy. That was the only roll I tried. The ginger chicken and chicken teriyaki was excellent.
