Sweet Old Bills a staple spot that's been on our list to try for quite a while. We had a rare Friday evening off so ventured over there. First, we were greeted with very friendly service from the host stand to our server. We ordered our drinks and entrees after taking probably too long to look at the menu. The restaurant was getting busy. We shared the skillet cornbread and I ordered the smoked meatloaf. Something unique to me and it sounded delicious. It was super tender and I could definitely taste the smoky flavor. It was a generous portion and I ended up taking some home. The skillet cornbread was hot and fresh although not quite as sweet as I like.

Our waitress was one of a kind and super helpful! With a dairy allergy she was sure to check all of the ingredients and breads for me to make sure my order was okay with my allergen. This was SO greatly appreciated. My husband and I both ordered a burger. His was the basic plain burger, mine had chili and sale! I greatly enjoyed mine and the sweet potato fries. However, my husband was kind of disappointed that he couldn't order his burger to be cooked medium. Per the waitress they are all cooked well done, which is exactly what we received. I also would have liked it a little less done. Per the menu burgers are made to order, but per the staff this was not the case, which was slightly disappointing. Burgers with one side were about $13-15 each, which seems about average. However you could pay an additional $4 to double the meat on the burger!

My wife and I had a delicious lunch date there over the past weekend. The restaurant is very cozy and clean. The service was ok although they were a little slower than we would have liked in checking on things. We decided to split a few items to get a try of different foods. Their brisket nachos were phenomenal. The mixture of flavors was perfect and there was plenty of them to share. This could have been shared by 3-4 people without a problem. The pulled pork was flavorful on its own and even better with its sauce. The Mac and cheese was good but fairly standard. The sweet potato fries were crisp and had good flavor. The banana pudding for dessert was delicious and pretty generous portion.

I ordered the small smoked chicken, black eye peas & cheese grits. The chicken was seasoned good but was a bit DRY!! The black eye pea were good & did not taste like they were out of a can, the cheese grits were great too. The service was excellent. The restaurant had a cool vibe. Our service was good too.

Went here on a Sunday after church and enjoyed a good meal with friends. Definitely can see why it's a local favorite. My pulled pork plate was great and loved the tomato pie and Mac and cheese! It was all delicious & served nice and steamy. My pulled pork was a little more fatty than I prefer and pulled lots of big pieces of fat out. I tried my kids chicken tenders and they were flavorful and tender. We also all enjoyed some mimosas with brunch and it was perfectly mixed with OJ and champagne. Feel is definitely bar scene but good for a midday lunch with the kids! Service was good. Ambiance is nothing fancy but that's not what we were looking for. Look forward to more Sunday brunches here!

Only negative is really the price on some of their items but they follow suit with other BBQ joints. And the service tends to be hit or miss. Now, the biggest pull with this place and, I kid you not, their nachos is the best. I'd put it up against anything in the state! The most important thing is they don't stack it up (which is the dumbest thing), they lay it out wide and low so more toppings and cheese hit the chips. The flavors, the sauces, the combination of everything leads you to a mouthgasm! Anything with pork belly here is amazing. Their apps are great as well. Overall this place is a great spot and offers unique items to appease anyone. PRO-TIP: Add pork belly and brisket to your nachos. It's a full meal in itself and that comes from me

Service: Very friendly and knowledgeable. When I asked the waiter how the brisket was today he said it was coming out very juicy which is a good sign. I like that he was able to quickly provide a confident answer. The brisket was on point! Those were the best brisket nachos! (thanks Erik!). The fresh jalapeños were thick and spicy how I like them. The crème was a perfect balance. The chips were not soggy and delicious. The sweet potato fries were nice and crunch almost caramelized. The pork was good but better with the house BBQ. Yummy!! The Mac and cheese had a great creamy cheese texture which is great for little kids too. The ambience was also very cool. The floor still had the remnants of a garage. There was a nice breeze sitting at the concrete table top. While reviews say it's hit or miss, our visit was a definite hit!

Brisket, ribs, sweet potatoes and corn pudding

Ordered the big boy combo with ribs and sliced brisket, corn pudding and sweet potatoes. Ribs were so overcooked I couldn't cut them apart. Brisket was a single slab sliced the wrong way, making it impossible to cut, and it was dry and overcooked. The sides were great. I won't be back.

Food: 4 I ordered an original pulled pork sandwich for my meal. I thought it would come with BBQ sauce on it. The waitress did bring me two types of BBQ sauce. I had a side of fries that were a little too soft for my liking. For dessert, I ordered the Bundt cake, which is what raises my original score of a 3 to a 4. So soft and the taste was chef's kiss. Service: 4 stars I didn't get my servers name but she was very attentive, but checked in just a little too often for me. I had asked about one of the wine selections, but she couldn't answer the question as she told me she was only 18. Before ordering the wine, I had ordered a lemon drop martini. While the martini was half full, I decided I also wanted to take advantage of the 1/2 price wine deal. My server put the order in, then kindly told me she couldn't bring the wine unless the martini was returned or finished. Unsure if this is a NC thing or just a restaurant rule, but I appreciated the precautions the restaurant was taking with one person having multiple drinks Ambiance: 4 stars cute somewhat "western" feel. Has a nice open community vibe especially at the bar area, which I didn't sit at but will try another time

What a nice way to end 2024. While waiting for an order elsewhere to pick up, I stopped by SoB's for lunch. The service was stunning, back to the service I was use to. I am glad I gave Bill's a second chance after the non-service over the summer. The food was outstanding. The service was welcoming with frequent follow-up's. I look forward to going again. Please keep up the good work.

Enjoyed a delicious brunch here on Sunday. They've got a seemingly tasty menu, though I can only speak on the brisket hash. When we arrived we were greeted by the hostess and seated quickly. The menu had several great sounding options, but the brisket hash called to me. I opted for my eggs scrambled rather than sunny side up. The order came out quickly in a heaping portion. I was only able to eat about half the order, and took the rest for a some amazing left overs the next morning: Service was friendly and quick with refills and attentive to our needs. Food was an amazing. Fun spot, I'll be back!

The food was absolutely fantastic! The waitress was very attentive and paid attention to our drinks and refills and anything we needed. The restaurant was way larger than it looks from the outside with plenty of room between tables and high backs to the booths to add privacy to your lunch date Will definitely be visiting again soon!

We made an impromptu visit to Sweet Old Bills on Monday Sep 9 for appetizers and drinks. Surprisingly it was a little busy for a Monday. It was our first time visiting and after reviewing the menu in advance it was great for what we were looking to eat. It was a little tricky finding the host stand because they have two entrances, the one facing Main Street and a side entrance from the parking lot. But it was obvious we were a bit turned around but it all worked out, btw..the host stand is near the parking lot entrance on the side. We ordered appetizers for the table which were shareable portions and adult drinks. We ordered the brisket loaded nachos, spicy smoke wings and the trio dip sampler. Everything was tasty and fine for a last minute get together for good food that wasn't too heavy. The place felt dark and it was dimly lit. It's definitely more of a place to hangout after work for drinks.

The ribs are good. However, the smoked chicken is very dry. Service is horrible, not attentive at all and very slow. Bartenders are not experienced, and not observant of who is at the bar. Very loud, and server took order for another drink and 15 minutes later drink was still not at table. If waitstaff was better trained, they could turn over tables much quicker. read more

Came in on a busy-ish afternoon and sat at the bar as Brown Truck next door wasn't open yet. The bartenders were nice and attentive, and the food was delicious! Would definitely recommend the sweet potato fries. read more

Alright for the most part I travel around the country to taste the best foods and this place was referred to me by a few friends of mine. I will say the overall ambience of the place is a 4 out of 5 located near high point university with a great local presence. The service was good also didn't have an issue whatsoever with it. The food itself was not all it was hyped up to be at all the chicken was rubbery and not flavorful at all and was served at room temperature as if it had been sitting out and recently plated. The pulled pork fell along the same lines pretty cold and super greasy and it came in a cardboard dish so it soaked right on through and on to the metal pan. Quite disheartening when I was told that they were the best in the city. The greens were hot and made for customer self seasoning which is totally understandable, you never want to over season a customer may have diabetes or high blood pressure. I understand most places take pride in what they do but last night was definitely not it and for the price I would not be returning. However with so much flare with the live music and scenery the same effort should be displayed in the kitchen. The music was so loud the server had to bend down to take my order. All the same I wish This place all the best and I know it's possible thank you for your time. read more

Well...this place is AMAZING!! A quick stop on our way to Raleigh for Saturday lunch. Wow..beef brisket nachos and half a smoked chicken! 5 stars...all the way!! I would add a pic...but we ate it all. read more

Very mediocre on all counts ...I've tried this bbq spot 3 or 4X over the last couple years,,, pretty poor customer service overall for a crowd that I suspect doesn't expect good service. The menu lists bbq ribs (a bbq staple!) but only on Saturdays (wtf?!) and most of the items on the menu turn out to be sold-out when you try to order them ..this has happened to me on every visit-ridiculous ! The kicker is the banana pudding has NO bananas in it ?!?!? Whaaaatt?!!?! Hey Bill -go f yourself! Not coming back read more

I tried it and it is just one star ok. I don't taste the smoke at all. The cheese grits have not cheese taste . My order was to go and they forgot the sweet potato fries. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and I don't believe I will go back . read more

This was my second visit to SOB's, and I have to say, I'm very disappointed. The food is very good for High Point, but holy hell, on a Thursday night, I waited over 30 minutes for my burger to come out. My two companions were already finished with their food when I flagged down a server bringing food to the guys sitting next to us (since our original server vanished and never reappeared). Despite asking her what happened to the burger (no follow up) it still required one of us finding the original server who took the order to ask what happened ("I'll look into it...") and then an ADDITIONAL 5 minutes before a burger appeared. I'm not writing them off, but I'm sure as heck going to stress to the next server that I'm not interested in my burger aging after I order it. Sweet Old Bill's is better that this, but damn, it's going to take a bunch of really good future experiences to make me forget this one. read more

This restaurant is fresh in appearance and food offerings. The ambiance was friendly and casual. Lots of individual tables and a large pub height common table. We tried the Brussels sprout appetizer... really good. The pulled pork nachos are generous in size and taste. Tried the Cuban sandwich, pressed toasted bun with pulled pork, pork belly, ham, and cheese. The BBQ 1/2 chicken with Alabama white sauce was a hit. This is a welcome new restaurant introduction in High Point. We will be back. read more

Me and some friends were next door at Brown Truck expecting a food truck. Long story short it didn't show. We were starving!! We headed over next door to Bills. Awesome atmosphere! The menu is all pork, burgers, and some main plates. I got the Goat burger. It was delicious! They were generous with the goat cheese too (which I loved)! My friends got the nachos! Probably some of the best nachos I have ever had!! The beer selection was okay... I figured the selection would be alittle larger on draft, but we found stuff we liked. Service was good; nothing memorable. The tomato pie was yummy too!! We would definitely go back! read more

Barbecue is some of the worst in the triad. Taste like freezer barbecue if you have ever had it ... if not you're not missing out. The atmosphere is great. This could be so much better than it is. read more

WORST service ever. Food is horrible. Went to order a drink and was asked for a second form of ID, which is fine, but I didn't have it and when I said never mind, the bartender THREW my ID at me and said "F*** off" I have never in my life seen anything like that. I immediately left without saying a word. A simple "no I can't serve you" would have sufficed. No stars. Will definitely be contacting the manager and owner. read more

This place is my new favorite restaurant! The food is fantastic and the service is outstanding! They have a great beer selection! I highly recommend the pork belly and grits and the tomato pie! YUMMY! Everything I've ordered has been delicious...from the brisket to the sides! It's all DELICIOUS! Looking forward to sitting outside and enjoying great food and beer! read more

This was our first visit and the experience was just OK. Getting a drink at the bar was a tedious affair (tip: get a university student to order a drink for you, they get preferential treatment over an old guy). Wait staff are pleasant and friendly but seem to be undertrained and stressed. 2 of our 5 orders came to the table incorrect and they ran out of brisket at 6:30 pm on a Saturday night. Nachos were very good, bbq was average and the ribs were tough. I want to give this place another chance and hope they will work out the kinks. The space is really cool and is right next door to Brown Truck brewery. read more

What a cute new spot! Ordered the brisket nachos and also a sandwich at the same time. Only negative I have to say is I wish the server had warned of the size of the nachos because it is a HUGE portion and they are also out of this world. That chimmi is from the heavens! Unfortunately I didn't get to enjoy my sandwich because I couldn't fit it :( read more

Sweet old bills is a great place. Quality food and a nice theme to the restaurant. It is sort of loud in there. It has a narrow design. You can go to drink or to eat. The service is good. It took a while for us to get our food though. 4 stars read more

Fun place to take friends and even kids. Love the veggie plate with lots of home cooked options. And the Beef brisket. Cheesecake (SOB's) is amazing. So rich we had to split it. No one else in town has the options they do. Good service too. read more

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. EXCELLENT food and service! God is fresh and delicious. Nachos- delicious. Goat burger, pulled pork sandwich, tomato pie, collard greens, hush puppies, cheese grits all amazing. Great beer selections. Will be going back every time we are in the area. I got the BBQ Plate which comes with slaw and your choice of two sides for $10. The bbq had a great smoked flavor. Choosing sides was difficult because so many of them interested me. I ended up with tomato pie and Mac and cheese, both which were delicious and generous portions. My husband got the Bigger Boy Plate with bbq, brisket, and ribs. The brisket was good, but the ribs were definitely the highlight. For sides he got corn pudding and hush puppies; again, both delicious and generous. We will definitely be back to try other menu items! read more

I wish I could give 3.5 stars. A BBQ place with no BBQ. We stopped in tonight for dinner. We were greeted, seated, drink orders taken, and drinks received. When the waitress came to take our food order, we wanted the brisket nachos....that's when we were finally made aware that there was no brisket and no pulled pork. The only meats available were chicken, salmon, and ribs. Had we been made aware of this before being served 20$ in drinks, we would have simply gone elsewhere and tried again later. It was extremely disappointing that several workers had the chance to inform us from the beginning that they only had a limited menu available, but nobody did. The food we did get was good, but not what we went in craving. The space is also very open and very loud. We might go back...but would be just as open to trying another BBQ spot in the area. read more

For High Point this is a BIG upgrade for something long over due! Deep Fried Deviled Eggs drew me in and they didn't disappoint. The burgers were excellent. The food prep was a little slow but the waitress was good. The only draw back is you must get there early because the hostess (3 of them)was turning away people with unrealistic wait times when there were tables setting empty for 15 minutes. Hate seeing business turned away. Also the sanitation score was a 95 which is a little low for such a new place. Most of these issues are growing pains and I would recommend you try them for yourself. read more

Arrived at 6:15pm, (we were told roughly 20 minute wait), seated at 6:40, 6:45 we ordered our food and beer, 7:00 they finally brought the beer that was warm, 7:18 the food was finally delivered to the table, 7:20 I had to get up and go ask for a set of silverware for me and my wife, 7:36 our waitress picked up our dishes from the table, 7:50 I got up and went to the host desk because at this point it had been 14 minutes since the waitress had picked up our dishes, we watched her pick up dishes from 2 other tables and give them their checks and return their receipt 7:51 our waitress walks past at the desk and ask if everything is alright and I tell her I am still waiting on my ticket and we finally get to pay and leave This is the second time of visiting Sweet Old Bill's, we will not be back. Management seem to be nonexistent, I also wouldn't recommend taking small children here considering the sexual content playing on the t.v. read more

One word......Delicious! My husband and I went for lunch and everything we had was wonderful! The restaurant is beautiful on the inside with a very cozy vibe. We tried the half rack of ribs and the brisket sandwich with cole slaw, mac and cheese, potato salad and sweet potato fries as sides. Everything was just so good and full of flavor! The staff was super friendly, prices were very reasonable and our food came out super quick with a fairly full reataurant! We'll definitely be going back to Sweet Old Bill's! read more

We pretty much stopped going here before the pandemic since the pandemic because the dining room is so terribly noisy with the metal chairs and hard surfaces. Recently we have gotten take out from them, but it has really gone downhill....Dry pulled pork, missing items, rubbery mac and cheese. The final straw was our last order when the well done burger that was ordered came to us all red in the middle. When I called to tell the manager, he didn't even apologize for the error. NEVER DEALING WITH THEM AGAIN!! read more

Tom H. Went with a Blue Moon White IPA (mild pine straw and feline urine). I went with a Foothills Torch Pilsner. Imagine a decent beer and an IPA had a kid; that's Foothills Torch. The crowd was somewhat eclectic. The band, Stereo Doll, was pretty good. Played from Fleetwood Mac to Softcell (or Marilyn Manson). Amazing, hot blonde lead singer. Place was described as a biker/hippie bar. More like a bunch of blue collar workers. Not a bike or cut in sight. Sadly. My second beer was a Red Bridge gluten free. Pretty smooth and tasty. I appreciate how accommodating they are as well. Whether I come during the week (they started $5 drink specials on Wednesdays) I can pull up and have a drink and bring my laptop or come on a Friday for Ladies Night and have a DJ spin and I'm on the dance floor. Whatever you are feeling, they have it. You also never know who you're going to meet. I think it's also a great place for networking. They do have options if you'd like to do a private event or celebrate something special. There is plenty of space and a very large parking lot. I first discovered Odeh's when it was deemed the favorite restaurant by our local Yelp ambassador Erik and they had just a few tables in a small space with just counter service. Since then they have grown to add a larger dining room, table service and expanded their already delicious menu. There is nothing bad here and you can find something for every taste. This time I came back by myself and tried the noodle bar instead, and it's a completely different experience but still worth it. The noodle bar is set up like a small Korean grocery store station. Shelves of instant ramen to choose from, you grab your bowl, add your noodles and seasoning, then use one of the machines to cook it. There are three settings and I used M1, which came out just right. The broth was hot and the noodles had a good texture, not mushy. This is a basic setup. No fresh toppings, no eggs, no extras to dress it up. Some places offer that, but this one keeps it simple. If you go in expecting a full ramen bar you might be disappointed, but if you understand what they're going for, it works. And don't break your noodles. Leave them long so you can slurp them the way you're supposed to. If you watch Korean dramas, you've seen this a hundred times. Slurp the noodles and drink the broth after. I also ordered the Cajun tiger roll, 10 pieces, and that plus the noodles was more than enough food. The roll had tempura shrimp and cucumber inside, topped with spicy crab salad, spicy mayonnaise, and flame-seared salmon. The sushi chef used a handheld torch to sear the salmon right in front of me, and that added a nice finish. Between the noodles and sushi, I was full. This is a good option if you don't want to do the full all-you-can-eat. It's quick, easy, and you still get a good experience without committing to grilling at the table. I'd still recommend this place for groups, but now I'd also tell people not to overlook the bar if you're by yourself or just want something lighter. Must order: Instant ramen (use M1) and the Cajun tiger roll Heads up: Noodle bar is basic with no fresh toppings, manage expectations accordingly

Glad we went here. Great place for BBQ & cold beer. We had beef brisket & pulled pork. Both were great, generous portions & many sides to choose from. Inside is open with many booths & tables also features a large bar with many beers to choose from & several tv's giving it a sports bar feel that opens up into the outdoor picnic table area outside that brings everything together in a unique atmosphere where locals, families and friends blend together. read more

We've been to SOB's numerous times and have yet to have good service. I think the food could be great but it is rarely hot, luke warm at best. The brisket nachos are the only thing on the menu that we have gone back for. We keep going back because we love the location and the outdoor patio but I think last night was our last visit. They just don't seem to care if they give good service and there are so many other options in High Point now. read more

Service road behind restaurant (linking two parking lots) is badly pot-holed. Shrubs are grown into the sidewalk access from the north.
