Decent Asian-American fusion food! It seems more to appeal to Western American palates and tastes, but the food itself is good. I got the ube muffin with the cream cheese filling inside, a spicy crab crepe roll, and a Thai iced tea. The ube muffin was pretty soft and had a sweet filling. Breaks apart easily but is structurally sound. The spicy crab crepe was labeled along the lines of pigs in a blanket - I interpreted that as more of a sit-down dish than an Asian crepe seaweed burrito, but the combination of savory and lightness was appealing. Unfortunately, the Thai iced tea was a bit disappointing - I ordered a normal Thai iced tea, but it tasted too bland. When you first walk in you can see the cute piglet esthetic! I was so happy to run up to the display case! I can see that they are just starting out. I immediately ordered a ton of macarons! I ordered 2 drinks to help wash down the sweet goodness! I love how fresh and pretty everything is! I can't wait to come back to try more! Before I left, I believe the manager came up to greet us! Very surprising cafe this place is. It's nice and small, and specializes in a lot of sweets and food that you typically wouldn't find locally normally. From Musubi to Pandan and Ube crepe cakes. They offer a cheesecake sampler, which is about 9 dollars and some change, which is nice because it allows you to try out all three of their offered cheesecakes. I'll say that upon getting this, it was amazing. The flavors were very, very strong. Same with the teas. My brother got a Jasmine tea and his expressions to how floral it was was amazingly funny. My matcha was probably the most flavorful matcha milk tea I've ever had as well. We are excited to go back and try other offerings in the future. I love seeing unique places like this. I would see them all in Illinois when I vacation there but never here at home. I'm so happy to see such a little cozy place specializing in such exotic food flavors with a punch. Love it! read more

I would say that the cafe has delicious pastries, only thing that does not sit well with me is how rude the cashier is. I had a male cashier and me not being a pastry chef or working at a cafe, have a limited vocabulary on what the pastries are called. There's no name tags, nothing telling you what something is called. So it comes to pointing to a glass with a disgruntled employee, leaves you feeling a bit annoyed and confused. It's not a cheap place to purchase pastries. Please consider adding name tags to improve not only the customers experience but the employees as well. Would love to keep supporting but there's plenty of friendlier faces, thank you for the pastries. We bought a Yiramisu Crepe Cake here and it was pretty darned tasty and presented extremely well. There are just two problems we had with the cake: Firstly it cost $75 for a fairly average sized cake. I appreciate the work of making the layers but still, it's overly expensive. Secondly, it could have been a little sweeter..it was ok but just a little shy of the sweetness level I associate with dessert. delectable. absolutely paralyzingly delicious, like to my core i enjoyed this meal like no other. excellent online orders too, i ordered through uber eats and everything was GREAT. vegetable onigiri - very refreshing and felt clean to eat, wasn't heavy at all, perfect start to a meal. what made this spectacular was that the nori was of good quality. i've had really gross nori that's tasted super fishy and gross but this was mellow in flavor and tasted very fresh and sweet. sweet piglet in a blanket: also amazing. perfect balance of sweetness + tang from i'm assuming pickled vegetables? i'm saving the second one for later, it was so good. the flavors were very much blending together in a great way. vanilla creme brûlée: never had this before but what I liked about it was the texture and how there was an appropriate amount of caramelized sugar. any more would have been too much and any less would have been not sufficient texture to finish it. tasted great and there is a GOOD amount of custard, you're not paying $9 for a centimeter of brûlée. black milk tea w/ boba: a little bitter for my taste, personally would ask for a little more cream next time BUT it's a good base for most people I feel like. i personally have a little bit more of a sweet tooth, but the boba was excellent and it was not unenjoyable. will update once i try the crepe cake which i assume is amazing as well update: tiramisu crepe cake was also great, but not painfully sweet which is great for baked goods, makes them taste more expensive~ read more

Cute little bakery with incredibly delicious treats! Got a slice of lychee crepe cake, which was creamy and delicious. Slice was too big to finish the day I got it but even on day two it was still yummy. Also got a box of assorted macrons. Never know what to expect when I get macrons from somewhere but these did not disappoint. There were at least 5 flavors. I don't remember them all but I know the strawberry, caramel and cookies and cream were all delicious. I will definitely be back again soon. Only suggestion would maybe be to add labels/signs to the treats in the pastry case so I don't have to ask what each item is next time. read more

Wish I lived closer!!! We happened on this place last week on a cold rainy afternoon and it changed my attitude almost immediately. It is small but mighty: the eat-in space is really cute and the offerings are all beautiful to look at, and more importantly, everything we tried was slightly unusual and DELICIOUS. The cookies are huge and taste as good today as when we were there three days ago; my favorite was the UBE crinkle cookie - not like anything I've had before. The macarons are like none I've seen before: over 2" in diameter; my chai spice macaron was outstanding. Ordered a strawberry shortcake after seeing the picture on the website. When I picked it up, it did not look like the picture with much less strawberries on it. Wonderful new bakery on the South Shore! A charming, bright decor with very friendly and helpful staff. We ordered the open face sandwiches (bacon jam...mmm...) which were very flavorful. Paired with their milk tea, it was an awesome lunch! We picked a selection of baked goods for dessert to share. Pandan cupcake was so good, macaron texture was perfect and ginger lemon creme brulee...need I say more? Ok, I will...banana bread pudding, fresh out of the oven! Such a cute atmosphere! I have tried their panda waffle twice now (I maybe biased because of bambu) both times weren't really that great. Just way too crispy for my liking. A few more seconds cooking I'm sure it would have been on the burnt side; might be the waffle maker they use but won't be getting that anymore which is unfortunate. The Thai tea was also a little bit sweeter than I'd like it to be so don't think I'll be getting that again. I did like the fresh fruit crepe was fresh and delicious. Tried this new bakery after a couple days they were opened. We got onigiris (spam, spicy crab & salmon w cream cheese): All was tasteful minus the spam. They were made fresh so that was a plus. Yuen Yeung drink (milk tea & Vietnamese coffee): the coffee over powered the milk tea, would preferred maybe regular coffee?! Bento cakes were good flavoring but one should eat it day of because the cake got hard when put in the fridge. Macarons were delicious, not too sweet. The crepes were made fresh and delicious. The muffins and cupcakes were flavorful and moist. The staff was super friendly and tried the best to be on top of orders. Overall a good place. read more

I'm extra pleased that my Sweet Piglet in the Box took my written preferences into account and cooked the fried egg the way I liked. The pandan waffles are chewy and dreamy, with a tender, bright interior and a nice, chewy exterior. In addition to the previous items, I ordered an extra Pandan waffle, Ube Coconut Muffin, and 1 Medium Yeunyeung. Overall, I'm really pleased with my order. I had ordered an ube cheesecake for pickup. It was for pickup the day before Mother's day. As I was driving to the location to pick up the cake, I got a call that the cheesecake I ordered was sold. The person who called me apologized and said that they would be able to make another one and deliver it to my house the same day as well as a refund. I was happy that there was a compromise and had agreed to this but later on got a call that they would not be able to do it anymore. The person who had called again offered other things instead or to be able to get the cheesecake the next day.
