Fantastic little deli to get Starbucks coffee, healthy soups, sandwiches, snacks, drinks, and toiletries. I stocked up for my usual evening snack attack and hydration needs. The people working here are up from Peru for the winter, and are so hospitable and kind. There is also ample sitting space to work or relax in. Convenient since it's located between the guests rooms and main lobby at the Resort of Squaw Creek. You can have food delivered but there's a $5 delivery fee and 15% service charge. I say save the extra money since you'll most likely be passing by this place multiple times a day. Food is a bit pricey, but is expected since it's affiliated with the resort. The have a little cafe with Starbucks coffee, baked goods, and soups, salads, and sandwiches. They also have a wine section and a small pharmacy/retail section. My only gripe about this place is that there aren't any prices listed or stickered on anything that is not prepared by the deli- all the retail goods and bottled beverages. $3 for an individual sized box of organic milk, yea- no thank you. Again this place is convenient but if you have the time or if you want to save money, head to Safeway a few miles away and stock up on goods... especially snacks and drinks. read more

I ordered a kids grilled cheese and really what I got was a fistful of velveeta on white bread. Not "grilled" and toasty, but soggy and microwaved cheap cheese. No cooking done on premises. The not so good: If it weren't for the Starbucks coffee, I would have given them 5 stars. Not knocking good ole SB, just with all the local choices around, why go for the multi-national conglomerate coffee company. This place is a little bit pricey I'm giving them five stars on their service. We had just left our room after being exposed to Gas, we were looking for a place to relax we found a fire pit, we called sweet potato and ask if they could deliver 2 steaming hot chai lattes to the fire pit we were sitting and just like room service they delivered, 2 hot fresh and oh so delicious cinnamon chai latte's. To be honest they actually made our night. The next time we decided to sit at one of the lookouts and enjoy the sunset we asked again for two cappuccinos and a few cookies to be delivered to our lookout point and they were there, again. Ok , takeout pizza if you are staying on property is a hidden gem. Great pizza and great price (~$20-25 for a large pizza which would serve 3-4 adults ). Service is still weird (couldn't figure out how to call down so had to walk outside, order, and come back 30 minutes later to pick up). Despite repeating my order 3-4 times, they still got it wrong (plain pizza with sausage and mushroom became California plus sausage and mushroom). Still friendly service with a smile and great pizza. Sweet staff. Good salads. Overpriced candy. The real reason for the 2 rating... awful pizza. All 4 toppings drowned in absurdly rubbery cheese. Bread not fully committed to being either thin or thick, super floppy without the ability to hold it's shape in one's hand, and with no satisfying taste on its own... therefore ultimately unfulfilling. I just had a $9 egg and cheese bagel from this place and it was abysmal to be perfectly honest for the price. Sure it's a resort and everything's pricey. But the food has to actually taste good. Egg was runny, cheddar cheese was, well, fine, it's cheddar cheese. Bagel itself was just a typical grocery store 6 pack bagel. Our "Starbucks" drinks had zero flavor. At least they were hot. They forgot to make our bagels, and when we went up and asked about them, we got two plain bagels instead of the sesame and cinnamon raisin bagels we had ordered. We've loved our stay at the resort although this is probably the low... We had a kitchen and made bfast every morning except our last morning we came here for bfast sandwiches. 2 of the 5 of us had to send our sandwiches back because they were cold in the middle - they just stuck it in the microwave. The bread was not toasted. My dad LOVES bfast sandwiches and didn't even finish his. And somehow they're $8.50!! I would change the price to $5. Unfortunately this is the most convenient/quickest eatery so you're sort of stuck. The place was packed and they had new people working - New Years weekend is probably not the best time to train new people. For coffee and sitting in a coffee shop to read or do work this is a fine option. read more

We had lunch here after our spa treatments. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich which came with cheese, spinach, pesto, and prosciutto. It was a very thick sandwich and the contents very messy and a little greasy. The prosciutto was cut thick and was very tough to chew and had lots of fat that I had to pull off of the sandwich. Service was ok. They called your name several times in rapid succession which made it difficult to understand. I would probably try another place next time read more

I really have to hand it to the Resort, they have a great mix of restaurants: the fancy meat (Six Peaks), yummy Italian (Montagne), apres-ski (the chuck wagon, the pub), the family place (whatever the family place is called), and Sweet Potatoes, which offers up baked goods and deli classics. I don't know where they get these baked goods, but WOW, wow enough to entice a 4-star rating (for what they are). Chocolate muffins are out of this world, apple turnovers are heaven, apple pie is classic, and for some reason, their bagels are pitch-perfect. Where are they getting New York bagels??? Great alternative to the sit-down spots in the resort. The food is still pricy but not as bad as the other spots. You'll pay $15 for a chicken quesadilla but it is loaded with chicken and very good. Just don't expect discounts here. They do offer booze and cigars too so if you want to have some fun by the fire pit or hot tubs, stop off here first. Twice we've stopped in here when staying at the Resort at Squaw Creek, and twice we've ordered the hummus with pita bread. We've also convinced friends to grab an order when they've stayed with us. It's very good. You get a good-sized portion of hummus for your money (not enough bread for the portion of hummus so we usually end up having to buy more). But all in all, we like it. They have both alcohol and coffee drinks available in here as well - and a lot of other items. We just haven't gotten around to trying anything else yet. read more

I finished it rather quickly, so I got a cup of coffee. My timing was perfect, as they had just brewed more. It was very good, but slightly on the strong side for me. Tried their Strawberry flavored ice cream $3.00 for an 8 oz. and $4.00 for a 16 oz. It was pretty good and doesn't taste artificial. Would definitely get this again. The white chocolate macadamia nut cookie $2.00 had good flavor. It was a little chewy in the center of the cookie even though it was hard around the edges. This place is an absolute disaster. This morning we ordered breakfast there. I ordered the veggie bagel breakfast sandwich; includes egg, cheese, tomatoes and peppers. 45 minutes later we get our breakfast. My husband and son both ordered a plain bagel. We bring our meal up to our room to eat, and my veggie egg bagel sandwich only has cheddar cheese in it! That was it! I was furious. We decided to forget about it and I ate it anyway. Fast forward to now; my husband went downstairs to get a mocha. I'm not kidding; he waited 30mins for his mocha. Service is terrible and they can't get your order right to save your life. Sweet Potatoes is the most convenient of the four eateries at the Resort at Squaw Creek. It provides quick and easy food all day long. The food is pretty good as they have good muffins, parfait, etc. However, communication with staff is an issue. Being a non-coffee drinker, I ordered a venti steamer with hazelnut. When I started drinking it, I could taste coffee. I opened the lid to find it only half full and coffee was clearly visible. I brought it back to the barista and he argued that it was only milk. I persisted and another barista made a new one for me. However, there was no hazelnut. I took it as is and moved on. Due to water damage, the floor has buckled in one place so badly that I tripped on it a couple of times and I saw others do the same. My wife once took her coffee to the counter and asked for a refill since hers had gotten cold ($1 charge for refills). They simply added coffee to her cup. Due to language issues, it is difficult to gain complete understanding. Also, they are less than attentive. There was a June hailstorm one evening. I am writing this after SP has been open for more than three hours the following day and the outdoor tables have not been wiped off. read more

We go to Sweet Potatoes regularly for breakfast when staying at the resort. The coffee is great, and we enjoy the stuffed bagel sandwiches, waffles, fruits and wide variety of drinks available. The staff is very attentive as well. The main issue at breakfast time is the slow cash register which makes the lines long and slow moving. The deli should carefully consider opening a second cash register and having a line for items such as coffee and muffins, so they can be purchased and delivered quickly for customers on the go. The wait is just very long for a cup of coffee and muffin. read more

The people that work here need some basic training. The sign says there is a daily sandwich and to ask what it is, even though there is a giant chalkboard where it could be written. Well they didn't know and had to go into the back to ask. Looking for a vegetarian meal, I asked if the soup of the day, which was written on the board had meat. Again, didn't know and had to go into the back to ask. Since it did not, I ordered that with a grilled cheese, presented as The Grilled Cheese. I was served chicken noodle soup, so had to take that back. And then surprise this grilled cheese sandwich has 1 single slice of cheese plus pesto, avocado, tomato, grilled onions and Meat. Couldn't they tell me that when I inquired about a non-meat option? The bread wasn't even grilled, so more of a "warm cheese and other stuff sandwich". Stick to the packaged options here and avoid asking questions, they do not know. This resort was amazing until this experience. read more
