I'm not much an ice cream eater but if friends wanna go, I'll happily join if I can find something that won't entirely aggravate my lactose intolerant demons that live in my tummy. A friend suggested this place for an after dinner meet up and I took a look at their menu and they have a nice selection of non dairy options so I agreed. What caught my eye was the mango sticky rice and I love this Thai dessert and was pretty excited to try it. We met up here around 8pm and the place was pretty quiet. Lots of seating inside and some outside too. Staff very friendly here and I got to try the coconut sorbet (which was super yummy) and also the mango sticky rice. I chose the mango sticky rice and enjoyed this treat. Next time, I might get half coconut sorbet and half mango sticky rice as I absolutely love coconut! Fun place to check out and its located in a great part of Scottsdale! Would be fun to come back, grab a cup of ice cream and go walk about Old Town Scottsdale. I live closer to one of their other locations, but I was in the area of this one recently and decided to stop by for some delicious refreshing ice cream on a hot day. For this visit, I decided to go with some of their limited time flavors, a scoop of the banana cream pie and a scoop of the gooey butter cake. Both flavors were nicely creamy, not too sweet and really hit the spot! The family member I went with decided to get a scoop of the black sesame and she said she really enjoyed that too. I love sweet republic! I got dinner nearby and was craving a sweet treat and realized I was just a block away. I've gone to the central location a bunch but this was my first time at the old town spot. It was pretty quiet and there's a bit more seating inside at this location which is nice. It's really bright and colorful inside. The current limited flavors include black sesame and ube which is incredible! I tried both and it was hard to pick but I went with a single scoop of black sesame as I never see that flavor anywhere. It was so creamy with a nutty, coconut flavor and not too sweet. I have traveled the United States. I have also been to countless other countries and I always compare the ice cream. I'm trying to this place. I have only found two contenders in the entire world Italy's gelato and Café Beaujolais ice cream in Mendocino. It really means something. Sweet Republic never disappoints. They have carefully curated flavors you'd never think of. Their savory flavors like sweet corn are surprisingly tasty because they find the perfect balance, like a chef would curate a menu item at a fine restaurant. I was visiting downtown Scottsdale and was lucky enough to get the Dubai Chocolate and it was fire! I hadn't had anything Dubai chocolate up until that point and that ice cream was better than any Dubai chocolate that I've had since. There were chocolate chunks throughout that were different sizes which gave the ice cream the made by hand taste. As far as the ice cream goes, he offered me several different flavors to sample. I landed on the crème brûlée. I really enjoyed this ice cream because it wasn't overly sweet. It was very creamy and had a velvet texture on my tongue. They had several unique flavors and next time I hope to try the mango sticky rice. A nice little treat to walk to after a fulfilling dinner at Sizzle Kbbq a minute away. Was told this location has Blue Moon ice cream, famous flavor from the Midwest. I tried it and it was good! Has a fruit loop flavor to it. The worker will let you sample the ice cream. I chose the creme brulee and it was very creamy and filled with tiny crunchy honeycomb toffee bits. Very cool and interesting and very good. They let you choose to have the ice cream in a cup, cone or waffle cone. The inside is clean, has some tables for sitting inside and outside. Sweet Republic has landed in Old Town! Despite the rainy day, I was determined to make it out to finally catch the mango sticky rice ice cream before it left the rotation. It did not disappoint -- it's perfectly sweet with a soft, almost gelato-like texture. And I love the freshness the mango brings! I really loved the rich creme brulee, which has toffee bits mixed in to mimic the crunch of a classic brulee. It was also really nice to try other unique flavors like dill pickle, banana black sesame, and coffee and donuts (made with chicory coffee). All were great in their own way. We read in the paper that Sweet Republic was opening a store in Oldtown. We didn't realize it was only open for two days when we stopped by. We had the brownie sundae and a chocolate shake. Both delicious! The staff was friendly and helpful. They had no problem swapping one of the ice cream flavors in the sundae. While we were there they had about eight customers come in. There are a lot of ice cream shops in the area but none that craft unique flavors locally like they do at Sweet Republic. The flavors are always changing, so it's easy to come here every week and get something different. We love the mint chip, it is unlike any mint chip you've ever tasted. The other flavors change often and they always have things that are seasonal or on brand for whatever holiday is around the corner. This is definitely your best option for ice cream in Scottsdale.
