Service here was like walking up to a best friends workplace and being served by them. So many yummy treats to try. It will be hard to choose. Location is near restaurants and old town. They have a few tables and chairs outside and a walk up window. Milkshakes were delicious. Highly recommend.
Delish! Super yum and fresh. Fair pricing and not too sweet! Their chocolate fudge is simply delightful. My fave is the strawberry twirl, creamy and sweetened to perfection. The service was not too friendly and the fact that no one else was there and had to wait to order was kind of annoying.
I popped by the shakes and cone tonight in old town. It's a walk up location with a very small amount of seating out front. We enjoyed the peanut butter cookie dough shake. It was very rich and flavorful. In the words of my 13 year old this is Buss'n! We also tired the Biscoff cookie butter shake. It had pieces of biscoff cookies and it tasted like Trader Joe's cookie butter. The kids working there were very friendly and pleasant.

A short line on a Tuesday evening didn't deter me. I got my delicious soft serve, and the server told me, "He ain't pretty, but he'll taste fine. This was very true. This was a very squatty cone, those it tasted wonderful. There's some seating right at the window, though I sat at the corner on a bench to enjoy my cone.
Great ice cream place right off of Scottsdale Rd that offers organic soft serve. Tried their Salted Caramel cup and enjoyed it - it's pretty much what you expect when you mix vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and caramel. But the generous caramel syrup does not cheat you on what you're looking for. Very friendly service! It's only an ordering window and outside seating - just order, enjoy and continue with your perusing in town.
If I could give 6 stars to Shakes & Cones I would. What is a kiosk operation (as you order from the street) turns out is a culinary delight. With dairy and vegan ice cream choices alike, with fantastic quality, there is something for everyone. Service is great as they helped me navigate extensive menu and their recommendations were fantastic. I decided on having vegan cookie butter ice cream with vegan whipped cream. Justin was very enthusiastic in recommending it, and to be honest this is the best ice cream I ever had. Special thanks to him. While seating is street-side of which I am no fan, the quality of ice cream, and friendliness of staff more than makes up for it!!!!!

4.5 Stars Shakes & Cones is truly a gem in Old Town! The convenience of the counter service is what makes this place so easy to order a snack and go. They have a few tables on the sidewalk in front of the store. Mic check, one - two. Mic check ONE TWO, ahem can you hear me?!?! Shakes and Cones has Dairy Free options!! My favorite by far is the dairy-free vanilla shake with fresh strawberries mixed in. It's the best vegan strawberry shake I've had so far! Don't set your heart one one item if you plan on coming back, they have plenty of great options! The only downside, it's Old Town Scottsdale. Parking and crowds can be a challenge. The upside, great people watching while you're enjoying your treat!
Honestly the one star is for convenience and friendly staff. That was good. It's also quick and easy if you're wanting icecream on the go. The icecream itself is extremely mid. I'm sorry it just tasted bland and I got the cake and icecream cup. The cake was also not flavorful and very dry. The biscoff shake we got was also pretty flavorless and not something to write home about. I want to love it but I can't sadly. Maybe if the owner wasn't so offended by an honest review I'd come back to see if the dry cake and flavorless icecream was a fluke...there are more options on this road with higher ratings though, so I'll put my money elsewhere.
Oh my gosh! I am not the biggest ice cream fan. It's good but by way of desserts I typically go for something else. We stopped by Shakes and Cones after dinner and despite being full, have no regrets! I ordered Jake's Cake Dish with chocolate soft serve. The soft serve was so creamy and full of chocolate flavor. I never would have guessed it's soft serve if I didn't know. It was topped with homemade whipped cream which was also so delicious! The people who helped us were so friendly and made great suggestions as well. They had heaters on for the cool night for the few tables they have outside and it was comfortable and welcoming. We enjoyed our experience and treats and will happily be back! read more

Stopped by Shakes & Cones in Old Town Scottsdale and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Nutty Buddy and it was yummy. I love peanuts with ice cream so this was perfect. Portions are very generous, so definitely come hungry (or ready to share). The ice cream stand itself is a walk-up, with fun little touches in the décor that make it feel extra fun. Staff were friendly and welcoming too, which makes the experience even better. If you're in Old Town and craving a sweet treat, this is the spot. *Keep in mind, there is only outdoor seating available. read more

Shakes and Cones has a great location--you can easily walk downtown Scottsdale--but the menu could use a clearer setup. Vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free options aren't obvious: A simple color-coded system would help a lot with their extensive menu. I have had the vegan gluten free mint chocolate chip shake twice and gave it four stars--glad they have the vegan option, though the chocolate chips were quite crunchy and accumulate at the bottom at the end. I ask for rainbow sprinkles on top to make it more fun, otherwise it looks a bit plain. Their vegan soft serve is tasty but more airy than filling compared to other vegan ice creams I've tried. Fun! While both of our drinks were okay they weren't amazingly flavorful, they were good and I would come here again. It's a very cute, walk up shop. The gentleman taking our order looked also to be making the drinks so it took a little while to get them since it was a one man job. Very cute ice cream and sorbet spot in Old Town Scottsdale! The staff was so friendly, truly amazing customer service. The best part about this place is that they have dairy free ice cream and whipped cream!! The vegan vanilla milk shake with mint chips and coconut based whipped cream was amazing. I got the dairy-free vanilla with marshmallow fluff -- so delicious! Only complaint is the one scoop as kind of too large, I couldn't even finish! They also have other dairy-free topping options. If you tell them you have a dairy allergy they will point out what you can and can't order. There are 3 tables out front where you can sit and eat. read more

Finally got to try this place and I'm 100% satisfied with this cool and super clean ice cream place. They have soft served ice cream, there were vanilla, strawberry, chocolate flavors when I was there, tried strawberry and chocolate with hot chocolate dip, and it was so so good. Their ice cream flavors are super rich and soft, and the dip was super satisfying. And one thing really impressed about this place is that they kept the place super super clean. I could see from outside how they kept their toppings and place neat and clean, super cool! And they had different options for shakes, Imma try their shake next time!! read more

Love having a soft serve option that is both organic and dairy free for myself as well as the regular ice cream others. We didn't quite get what we were expecting but it was still very good. My mom really wanted a strawberry sundae expecting to have the actually strawberry sauce/pieces but she got strawberry ice cream instead with caramel, chocolate and whipped cream on top. Odd combination but needless to say she finished the whole thing. I myself got a combo cone with dairy free vanilla and regular chocolate. I know, I know...doesn't make any sense right? That's what I wanted though and it was good so let me be weird. Staff was very nice, line moves quickly and there's plenty of parking. I'd love to come back here and try them again. read more

Order at the outside window was quick due to the menu on the wall. Outside seating is minimal, 5 small tables that seat 2-3 people. I ordered a banana split with hot fudge. They make their own organic ice cream which was the reason we came. It was delicious. read more

Are there non-dairy/vegan options? I can't find any nutritional information on their website, except that it's gluten-free, egg-free and only made with organic, non-gmo ingredients. Just curious if someone with a lactose intolerance can eat there.
