This place is such a cool vibe. Chill music bumping, very friendly and helpful owner who let us try a bunch of flavors! The ice cream was very light - hits the craving and doesn't make you feel like shit. It's made from sea moss, dates and coconut milk, like how??!!! And it tastes good!!!! I know both of these options may look boring on the offset, but let me tell you, both of my picks were sooo flavorful and delicious. What this place is: Definitely an ice cream, dessert, and treats place for the health conscious person who wants to put nutritious food into their body. Healthy and vegan dairy free ice cream has been an elusive dream for me, but look no further! This place does the trick! These guys are all natural, non-GMO, plant-based, gluten-free, dairy-free, refined sugar free, no additives, artificial flavors, preservatives, or gums. I got the double chocolate and the coconut ice cream (after tasting almost half the store), and got it on top of a teff waffle (which apparently is like this Ethiopian low glycemic grass grain?). The combo was great. The homemade hazelnut chocolate sauce on top was a total slam-dunk - that made the dish complete. I would NOT miss out on the hazelnut sauce if you go! What this place is NOT - a place to get normal ice cream. I wouldn't say it tastes exactly like normal ice cream and waffles. The mouthfeel is a little less creamy than normal ice cream. But it definitely tastes amazing and it tastes like you're eating real food. I mean, I scarfed it down. You can find "healthy", "vegan" and "sugar-free" frozen ice cream out there but if you look at the ingredients, it is still packed with sugar, processed ingredients, alcohols, gums, aspartame, and other junk. I originally went here as part of the Yelp event, but since I ended up buying my own anyway I decided to leave my review here instead! For the event, I ended up trying a bite of almost all the flavors here so I can confidently say that even if you're not a big fan of vegan ice cream, you won't find flavors like these anywhere else. The sweet potato-y one especially really stuck out to me, but the stracciatella and magic vanilla were my favorites so I ended up with those. Overall, they were super refreshing, and I unfortunately forgot the reason it's called magic vanilla but trust me it actually tastes like it. I can see people who've only had normal, dairy ice cream being a little bit weirded out by the texture of the kind they serve here, it is much more sorbet-like and grainy, but you can't deny that it's way healthier. You can tell she is a very kind person at heart and honestly, it was a pleasure to eat the ice cream that she hand crafts. Everything tasted REAL! It's also a plus that she's open so late at night.
