This little spot is along busy Henderson Boulevard, on the south side, just west of Little Leon, in a strip mall. I got there early-just after opening on a Monday, so no problem with parking. Unassuming on the outside, there's something so warm and welcoming inside-you feel like you're at a friend or favorite relative's house. It's small-a table and counter seating up front and a few booths along the side-and very comforting. There are menus by the cash register and chalkboard menus on the wall. You order at the counter, in front of the open kitchen, which is spotless- and they bring it to you. I think the woman who took my order was the owner. She was very sweet. I chose the grilled cheese on whole wheat (you could also choose Cuban bread or a croissant) and added bacon. It was melty magic. I paired it with the berry smoothie-which was so tasty, revitalizing and the best consistency, in my smoothie swigging career. I can't wait to go back. The vegan espresso smoothie was good. At first look the color of the drink is deceiving because it's a dark green but upon tasting it both the coffee and chocolate flavors came through nicely. I also got Cuban sandwich and for the price ($11.5) I expected a larger size sandwich, this really looked more like half a sandwich offered at other places. It's has a really relaxing atmosphere and the ambiance is super cozy. My work colleagues and I ended up utilizing two tables within the Café. After looking over the menu, I decided to try their turkey, cheese, kale panini. The price is quite reasonable, $8.99 for their panini. I also added on a drink for a few dollars. The panini was delicious!! If only I could cook this healthy every day! The panini was hot pressed. You couldn't even taste the Kale inside the Panini with how the turkey, and cheese was cooked within. Healthy N Fresh Café did a amazing job with the Turkey Panini. It didn't take long for our orders either. We waited less than 30 minutes to receive our meals. The food is super good and healthy here. That's amazing customer service, and it's that attitude that makes you feel like a young kid at abuelas house and abuela is making sure you eat GOOD. Lol hope y'all get what I'm saying. The chicken soup is home made and not drowned in salt with a lot of yummy veggies. I have also had their lentil soup before and my gosh some of my other faves include the salmon sandwich (it's actually a meaty portion) and the Italian pesto panini. Yum yum and yum. Just get it. Both my sister and I love it!!! My only con is that you will leave the place smelling like the smell of oil and food. I recommend having some sort of body spray to mask the smell. Good food, plain and simple. If I could cook like this, I would eat healthy all the time. I don't cook, it's a curse, but it is also a blessing because it helps me discover places like this. When the Top 50 Places to Eat in Tampa Bay according to Yelp list came out, I knew I'd be limited about where to eat since I was soy/dairy/nut/egg free because of my bebe. This was one of the places that popped up that I felt pretty good about trying. I chose this as a spot to meet three friends and we stopped by at 2 p.m. on a Saturday. Even at 2 p.m., which is not prime eating time, there were people noshing here. It's a good thing they weren't busy because it is small inside. This is definitely a grab and go type of place, unless you are lucky enough to grab one of their five? tables. We were also lucky that we could put together two small tables and we made the only large enough table for four people. Don't let this deter you from trying this place, just figure you might end up taking it to go. This place is kind of hard to find. Two out of the four of us got lost. I got lucky that I read another Yelp review that says it is next to Queen of Sheba so I'm passing that tip along. There is limited parking out front, but I have a feeling you can usually grab a spot. That was a long intro to what makes this place great - the food. I got an orange, carrot, and ginger juice and the hot bowl. Since I was on a restricted diet, I couldn't try the avocado dressing, but they made me my own! Just tell them what you can and can't eat and they are happy to accommodate because everything is made to order! They know all the ingredients exactly because they cook everything. The owner is in the open kitchen making everything, and everything is delicious. I devoured my bowl and one friend joked that she was going to lick the avocado dressing container. Another friend got the lentil soup and said it was so good she needed a cigarette after it. I love places that not only have food that tastes good, but that I feel good eating. Their owner, Lisseth, is the nicest lady. They do no marketing and simply rely on word of mouth. This is definitely the type of place that I tell everyone about! For what it was, it felt a little overpriced. All in all, this place is a nice, locally-owned cafe that serves reasonably healthful food (depending on what you order -- they have things like acai bowls, salads, and certain vegan items, but the sandwiches are probably less healthful) and is easy for breakfast or lunch. But I would not go out of my way to eat here. I had a Signature Melt, which has prosciutto, mozzarella and sundried tomatoes. The ingredients tasted fresh, as they market in their name. Anyone would be able to make as good a panini with good quality ingredients and a panini press (but I do realize that not everyone has one of these). What is made here is very simple and easy. Take the best ingredients and combine them together. It's great for convenience if you are close by. Note that it is a bit hard to find as it's tucked away in a small strip mall.
