The store itself is very colorful and lots of fun. They have a moving train up top, and a huge Ferris Wheel. I saw little ones looking and having fun. They have tons of different candy and fudge. I purchased two truffle chocolates and a Coffee Mud-pie ice cream. The ice cream was very good and creamy and the truffles yummy. The price was so reasonable compared to other places I have been. They have a banana split that I will try next time when I go back. I love that you can get bags of different candy especially as gifts, or a gift card like I got. They also have a gift shop with local and Christian items. I personally love Quill and pop up cards and they have both. Service was excellent and the young lady that waited on me was friendly and full of smiles. It's a must stop if in Swansboro.

I have never been to a candy shop that I could not buy one piece. They always say so much money for an ounce. Even though I did not agree, I did not lower the score even though I spent more money than I wanted to. She wasn't sure, went to ask someone, and came back saying the "boss" told her the items were not on sale. My mother decided she didn't want the dresses, but I knew she really liked them. I took them to the register and asked the cashier to scan them. Both items rang up at 50% off. Thinking it might be a mistake, I asked her to scan them again, and once again they rang up at half price. When I told my mother they were 50% off, another associate, Dee, abruptly interrupted and said, "No, they are not. Nothing is on sale." Even the cashier seemed surprised and commented that purple dots usually indicated sale items. Dee then said she would get the manager. When Susan, the manager, arrived, we politely asked to speak with her to the side. In a very cold, monotone manner, she told us nothing in the store was on sale and that the purple dot simply identified an internet item. I asked why the register was applying a 50% discount and why the cashier believed the purple dots indicated a sale. Her response was that the sale rack outside also had purple-dot tags. If that's the case, it's incredibly confusing and misleading for customers. I then asked if they would honor the price that was scanning at the register. Susan showed no concern whatsoever and simply said that someone would buy the items at full price and that they "might go on sale in August." The irony is...it is August. Before leaving, I asked Dee for her name and confirmed the manager's name, Susan, because I knew I wanted to share this experience. The store itself is beautiful, and the prices are what I would expect for a beach boutique. Unfortunately, customer service can make or break a shopping experience, and ours was disappointing. One of the other sales associates even apologized to me for how we had been treated. When I told her she had been wonderful and that my concern was with the manager's attitude, she quietly replied that Susan is "like that with everyone." That was disappointing to hear. I'm sure someone will eventually purchase those dresses, but after the rudeness and lack of customer care we experienced from the management at Elly's, I won't be back.

Based on that, the manager's response that I should have ordered the dresses online simply doesn't make sense. That response only reinforced my concern that I was not given an honest explanation in the store. A disappointing customer service experience became even more frustrating because the follow-up response failed to address what actually happened.

I've come into this store quite a few times and out of all the times I've been there I only had one good milkshake. The first time I ever came in they had a trainee or a new girl working there I could tell make it and it just wasn't even stirred very well in the milkshake machine. It had hard chunks still left in my milkshake and it just made it unappetizing. Also at night I just went and they close at 10:30 and I was there at 9 and they rushed my milkshake and it was all "watered down" as they use milk yes but I'm using that term for perspective. It's always a gamble there and if I pay 10 dollars for two milkshakes I don't expect terrible quality. read more

This place is amazing! They have the best ice cream in Emerald Isle. We went there 3 times because it was so good. They have 50 flavors of Hershey's ice cream & frozen yogurt. The staff is very friendly and the prices are very reasonable for the amount of ice cream they give you. There are places to sit down inside and outside. They also have great salt water taffy and a number of other misc items for sale. I highly recommend the Sweet Spot. Oh, and of all the flavors I tried... I think the peach was the best. read more
