Love this place! This is my kids favorite place to go. They allow a sample taffy which my kids love! Ice cream is large servings and you can rock in the rocking chairs out front as you eat the ice cream. The staff here is exceptional and whoever is doing the hiring is knocking it out of the park! The sell some sports stuff and need to add Dallas Cowboys memorabilia as well as they have a large fan base they are missing on. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE! My husband and I keep going back during our Emerald Isle vacation. Best ice cream, candy and gifts. In addition to all the fantastic treasures here, the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. If it's busy, don't let the line scare you. They have tons of staff who jump at the opportunity to help and make the line move FAST! They also let you try as many items as you like and make sure you get as much as you want when serving you. Great little ice cream place in Emerald Isle. You can also try a free piece of taffy. Everyone is always nice when you are there and it's clean. There's also a lot of cute things to shop for in their little shop. Only complaint is that they are often closed in off season, but that's normal for this area. read more

My father (HIlton Peel) started a tradition of taking my children to the Sweet Spot many years ago. Now my children are grown and recently took their own children to the Sweet Spot. As always, the ice cream is delicious and fresh and the selection of candy is something that only dreams are made of. I live here and go here off season and on season. Each time I go, the girls at the counter are friendly, and give you super big helpings of ice cream. The owner, Karen, is equally friendly and I usually see her out meeting her customers. I like relaxing with my ice cream in the rocking chairs out front. What caused me to write a review was the other evening I was struck by a skateboarder on the sidewalk and when we ordered our ice cream, I asked for a bag of ice for my arm which was bruising. The girls were so sweet and got me what I needed and offered to help however I needed. That is really typical of how guests are treated at the sweet spot. It's a great local business. read more

Great service, friendly staff, delicious treats. We ended up here when the DQ line was too long. Line here was long but moved quickly, and one employee was passing out menus while you wait. We ate our ice cream out front in their rocking chairs, and an employee came by with cups of water. We will definitely be back! read more

Well service but fine BUT we bought taffy, chewy candies, and other random candy. All of the taffy and chewy candies were FAR from chewy. Its as though the candy had been sitting there since summer. If i'm at a candy store buying candy it would be nice if it was somewhat fresh. read more

Adorable full-service candy and ice cream shop in a gift shop. Service was great - the staff walks around offering water to all of the patrons. They have an excellent candy bar and you can even sample the extensive taffy selection, too. There are endless ice cream choices, as well as water ice and sorbet. Would highly recommend. read more

Great place which my kids love. A favorite after an afternoon/evening at the beach. The girls who work there are apparently the friendliest kids they could find at the local high schools. Very reasonable prices. If you're from out of town on a holiday weekend expect a line. read more
