We have used Sweet Tomatoes catering services for our office consistently throughout 2019 and have been beyond thrilled. We haven't had the same selection twice and I get rave reviews from the employees EVERY SINGLE TIME! Some of our favorite dishes include the flank steak, lime chicken, and herb roasted pulled chicken with sweet potatoes (just to name a few!). The meals always show up on time to the minute and the owners, Hedy & Brian and the entire staff are wonderful to work with! We just had the pleasure of serving an absolutely delicious and festive holiday lunch and as always our team expressed their gratitude so I wanted to share mine! Good sandwiches - never had the pizza, but me friends tell me it's good. Prices are reasonable but maybe a touch higher than I'd prefer - $10 for a sandwich. Main concern here is that they've gotten my order wrong a couple times. They're always nice about it when I catch it but it's happened a bit too often for a fifth star. read more

The food is fantastic. The chunky tomato pizza sauce is unique and delicious. They also have a "regular kids sauce" if your children prefer that. The specialty pizzas are creative and incredibly tasty. Service is always "with a smile." HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! read more

We won't be back. We placed an order today a little after 6... We were told they weren't doing sandwiches, only pizza, and no slices???? Ummm... Why is there a full menu on the wall inside?? We ordered a large pepperoni pizza with feta cheese, well done, and received an undercooked, extra greasy pizza with no feta cheese. What a disappointment! I tried to order a pizza with tomato and provolone and was told that provolone is not a pizza topping. Even though they clearly have provolone (as it is available on sandwiches), Sweet Tomatoes refused to make it a topping on my pizza despite my request. I will not order from here again. Jumped over for lunch at this just-opened outlet of the high-end pizza chain, ordered a couple of slices and -- yuck. My slices were goopy with oil and icky bits of black oven shmootz were stuck to the bottom. They just opened so I'll return soon for a re-test. read more

Crazy...I have NEVER paid $22.25 for a pizza!! My family wanted a Sausage, pepper and onion pizza. We ordered a large and IT WAS $22.25!!! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Needless to say, there are at least 8 other good pizza options in the Needham/Newton/Dover area for LITERALLY $8-$10 cheaper. They must think that theirs is REALLY special. NEVER AGAIN! read more

I wasn't very impressed with Sweet Tomatoes - we ordered the three cheese pizza, and there wasn't much cheese. And the ricotta was cold. We also ordered two salads that were $6.99 each and small with nothing special - probably cost 50 cents each to produce! Arrived at 8:10PM, they close at 9pm, all the chairs are up on the tables...45 min ahead of closing. I want to grab a pizza with friends and sit there..the only man working there says no... I had a Groupon which prompted the visit. Fairly expensive. Got a $4 side salad with just a few pieces of lettuce and the dressing which was not Ceaser dressing. The calzones are wet and soggy due to the amount of ricotta cheese but tasted good - not great for leftovers :-( Fresh made marinara sauce was super watery, but had OK flavor. I used to like this place. It seems different lately. Has it changed ownership or management recently? I went there last Sunday. They took about a half hour to make a couple of small pizzas. It's true it was busy, but when I asked the manager, he basically just told me me they lost track of my order. Didn't apologize. Just made the pizzas late. Today was the first time I've ever tried this place. The pizza was good. The customer service? Not so much. I ordered a pizza, then sat at the counter - waiting for someone I was with to come out of a store next door, and decided to do some work at the same time. The pizza came out before the person I was waiting for, so I put it next to me and continued waiting. Five minutes later, the three people behind the counter were all but shouting to each other, "Hey, why is she still here?" "Her pizza is right there! Why is she sitting there?" "Why is she writing? I can't see what it is. Why is she doing that?" I ignored them and continued waiting, but it made me extremely uncomfortable. There was no one else in the store, so they clearly just wanted me to leave. They didn't seem to want to let me mind my own business, and I wasn't doing any harm. I've had pizza several times at the newton location so was excited this place was next to my drs office when I was hungry for lunch. I went in with my husband and we ordered two sandwiches and a piece of pizza. Total was about $25. The pizza was good as it expected, but I have to give it only two stars because the sandwiches were bad and overpriced. We had a grilled chicken sandwich of some type that was served with a bunch of veggies and the bread was soggy and the sandwich was falling apart (flavor was ok,not great). I had a chicken parm and was so disappointed it was grilled chicken not breaded. Isn't chicken parm by definition chicken cutlets which are breaded and sauteed/fried? The sauce didn't have a lot of flavor, although it may work on the pizza, it was bland on the sub. As mentioned the chicken was grilled and the cheese was ok. My sandwich was also messy and falling apart. I would maybe give them a pass if I had had carry out and the subs hadn't held up,but we were dining in, leaving no excuse for soggy bread. read more

Just called to cancel delivery for a $22 pizza after 2 hours of waiting. Was originally quoted "a little over an hour". When I called to cancel, they told me they'd call the driver to tell them not to deliver the pizza - which makes me wonder how long it had been in transit before they planned to deliver it to me. I love this pizza! We got the Harvest (g.smith apples, carmel'd onions, dried cranb's, mozz, goat cheese) and it was absolutely delicious. I'm not always a fan of goat cheese, but I really liked it on this pizza. Great overall flavor and not greasy. Perfect thin crust. I'll be back. :) read more
