This cute little shop is tiny but mighty. When I first walked in, I saw people walking out with bags. I didn't think I was going to buy any since I normally don't like caramel, especially because theyre too sweet and stick to your teeth. At first I was surprised they have out whole peices of caramel for folks to try. I was about to feel guilty trying all the peices without the intent to buy any. Well don't knock them until you try them! I tried their two most popular: Hawaiian Sea Salt, Toasted Coconut. And also the Aloha Ginger. --- bought all three! They weren't overly sweet despite being caramel, and did not stick to my teeth at all! They were soft, chewy, but melted right off my teeth. The salt, the coconut, and the ginger each complemented the caramel to offset the sweetness. I had to refrain from trying more because the fear of buying all the flavors!

The only thing that kinda sucks is that the shop is EXTREMELY small and can get easily crowded, tough to get around inside. Free parking though!

Well, we finally pulled the trigger on it and did the experience...and it was well worth it. Lance, the owner and instructor was fantastic. With only 8 spots available, you have to book this as soon as it is available. The shop is only 300 sq. Ft. So any more people would be too much and the set up was perfect. It is amazing this small space produces the chocolate! The overall lesson is great because he takes you from bean to chocolate. This is not tree to chocolate because he doesn't have the trees nor does he have the pods and that part of the collection process (however, Lance, if you or your wife are reading this, it might be a great future endeavor to have an option to work with one of your partners and add on the collection tour before!). While he doesn't have the collection process, Lance does an excellent job speaking to the process once beans are collected. From there, the chocolate making and tasting process is thoroughly explained and you are part of it. Finally, making your chocolate is a lot of fun and there are roughly 30 ingredients you can use for your 2 bars. I personally made: an Indian spice flavor chocolate for half a bar, coconut sea salt for second half, matcha coconut sea salt for 3rd half, and coffee bean sea salt for last). Bring your creativity! Thank you Lance for this fantastic experience.

I've been to Kauai tons of times but why only this recent visit I stopped here, something is wrong…read morewith me?! hehe. I happen to search lunch stops on Instagram and came across Lawai'a, I actually made 2 stops, the day before and the day of flight. Cute little store, very popular and busy parking lot. Lawai'a Fish Co. reminds me of Tanioka's back on Oahu. This business got so much seafood goodies along with snacks, desserts, Wow! One stop shop for everything! I also saw a post for cheap eats and had to see it for myself, hehe, the table in front has pre-packaged bento and I spot one that was $6. hard to believe nowdays. I didn't get the plate lunch which looks good too or the poke variety, we had lunch plans so first visit was spicy poke for the other half to try, the tofu poke, and $6. bento of fried ahi limu for me. I am not a fan of poke and don't eat anything raw, so jealous of my hubby and kids to love it so much! I was happy that hey have a fried ahi bento available for only $6. We/I really enjoyed bento, hubby mentioned the spicy ahi was great and that tofu poke salad, WOW. I loved the taste, comes with tofu, sea asparagus, and onion, so GOOD! I stopped by the next day to grab 2 containers of the tofu poke and the ginger fried poke $6. bento. This place is a GEM for sure, very busy, I cannot wait to be back!!

First, loved how local it feels and they sell a variety of poke, bento, cooked plates and even desserts! They also sell whole fish so you know the poke is fresh. I grabbed a pick 2 fish bowl with yuzu hamachi and chili garlic ahi. Loved the hamachi with was dressed with sea asparagus for a nice savoriness. You don't see hamachi poke often but it's one of my favorite types of sushi. Chili ahi was good as well and definitely had a kick. We also wanted to try tako (octopus) and got the kimchi tako which was nice and tender. Surprisingly the kimchi was pretty spicy too. Overall great spot for poke and I'll definitely need to come back if I'm in Kauai in the future. I'm still thinking about the hamachi poke a couple weeks ago.

They are sweet/savory and nutty all in one scrumptious bite! They are surrounded by the most delicate sticky sautéed onions that are crave-able beyond imagination! My standard favorites are the lentils soup and Italian vegetable soup, so packed with healthy veggies like cauliflower, carrots, garbanzo beans, green beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, celery, onions, and extremely heart healthy! If you look at my photo attached, you'll see one of the carrots in the shape of a heart!!! A sign from God that I'm eating the right food for my dear heart! Service is wholesome and wholeheartedly customer friendly! I sat outside with gorgeous foliage that made me feel like I was on a tropical picnic with cool Tradewinds sitting in the shade. Highly recommend this awesome market that reminds me of Whole Foods!

I chose the nori bowl which was filled with brown rice, greens, carrots, sprouts and tempeh (you can pick tofu instead of tempeh). I probably should have chosen the tofu since that's my typical preference but I wanted to try something different. The tempeh was still good. The sauce on top was flavorful. It took about 15 minutes to get my food since there were several orders ahead of me. But I was able to look around the grocery store. Everyone was friendly and checked how I was doing or wanted any water while I waited. I was in a rush and ordered take out. Otherwise there's a porch in the back for you to sit and eat.
